Somewhat yeah, but he was supposed to help open things up for Goff when it was only Kupp & Woods. Pre OBJ, pre Allen Robinson. That's strange since Van was "the deep guy with speed" in the offense with Stafford last year now he's not good enough in year two with Stafford?
And they were both almost simultaneously taken-out by a golf cart.Remember when our top 2 were Kenny Britt and Brian Quick?
Now it's an embarrassment of riches.
In VJ absents I would start him over Tutu, Slow, Harris.
I think this guy is a baller.
Based on what? McCutcheon has produced more than Atwell did last year in preseason.Based on preseason playing time I’m guessing he’s 6th but he’s probably better than skow and will pass him in time.
The Number of ppl still doubting tutu is crazy to me no way he’s higher than tutu
Now I have no doubt we add OBJ eventually. Where does he fit in and who do let go?Honestly I’d put Skowronek 4 , McCutheon 5, and Tutu 6 but that’s just semantics. We got a deep f’n WR room now! Imagine that?
I've been thinking about this too and fully agree. But who's to say we dont move him mid season this year? If Tutu and Skow both are playing well, Van should have some decent trade value and there are many teams hurting for WR depth big time.I believe McCutcheon makes Van Jefferson our #1 trade bait for 2023, if Van has a decent season he should command a decent draft pick as compensation.
I agree with this part, I'm not the biggest Skow fan and dont think the tracks/catches the ball well enough. But McVay has praised his off-season so lets see what he brings in year two. He is versatile and is big and can block. If Skow and Tutu both take a big step in year two, and we've seen what Cutch can do, I think they start eating into Van's snapsMcCutcheon finds the ball and goes and gets it. Skow loses the ball and has no idea where it is.
Mike Sims Walker, Mark Clayton, Donnie Avery, Mardy Gillyard...jesus christ it was bad.Remember when our top 2 were Kenny Britt and Brian Quick?
Now it's an embarrassment of riches.

Sounds like Allen RobinsonStill early, but he continues to shine.
Haven't been able to observe his blocking ability.
There's only one thing I know for sure.
He fits the description of what Stafford likes at
receiver to a "T" - A WR that tracks well and wins 50/50 balls.
Something our current WR3 struggles to do.
Anybody got a thought or something I have failed to interject?
All ears
Yea there are multiple fringe playoff teams with shitty WR situations, a couple of them in the NFC. But if we are really thinking about doing it then we need to try and maximize return value. Next year those teams could draft or trade/sign other guys and not need Van anymore. There is actually more incentive for them to trade for him this year. Yes it's not ideal to trade him to our competition, but it accomplishes multiple things: It gets us max trade value back, it allows our younger WR core to continue to develop (Tutu/Skow/Cutch), and it also makes it less crowded to sign OBJ. We could use a Van trade as a selling point to bring OBJ back. "We want you more than ever and the WR3 role is ready for you, etc."I believe the teams willing to give up the most for VJ might also be play-off teams, and I'm not sure we would want to load up some team we have to face. Of course, if OBj remains in the picture for us at that time, it may not matter much. jmo
lets see, for one college tape. secondly the fact tutu isnt playing in preseason and mccutcheon is seems to imply tutu is performing better in practice also. even a blind man can look at their college tape and see tutu is the better player. just cause he wasnt day 1 nfl ready and didnt produce as a rookie doesnt mean hes still not really talented.Based on what? McCutcheon has produced more than Atwell did last year in preseason.
Atwell doesn’t have the same skill set and they would be used in different situations.
