* PARKING*
So, had a group of 10 with us last night at the game. We decided to go with one of the parking structures that are linked to the So Fi stadium website.
The company is LAZ Go Parking.
It costs around $42 a parking spot and they offer a shuttle service to the stadium for another $8 per person. The shuttle cost takes you both to and from the stadium. Both trips included in the cost.
We bought the parking tickets a month ago.

We arrived at the parking structure around 6 pm. They let us in. We drive all the way to the top. All spaces are taken.
We follow a handful of cars to the exit. (There are about 10 cars in the lot, all without places to park).
At the exit, an employee points us to an overflow lot next to it.
We finally get parked.

Now we walk across the street and get in a huge line for the shuttles. They are full size busses. They are advertised to arrive every 15 minutes.
Nope.
1 shuttle finally shows up. They cram all the people they can and head to the stadium.
With the line in front of us, we think we can make it into the next shuttle.
So we wait.
About 25 minutes later we decide to just walk.
The walk is only about 1 - 1.5 miles.
It was the right decision, because I'm sure we beat the next shuttle to the stadium.

As we walk by the Forum, we realize they have their stadium parking lot open for parking.
This is completely separate from So Fi and isn't listed on SoFi's website.

Most already know, but the Forum is adjacent to Sofi.

I highly recommend staying away from LAZ GO and parking at the Forum if you can't get stadium Parking.

*GETTING INTO THE STADIUM*
They were in no hurry getting people in. The lines were slow going. They were very particular about what you can carry in.
If you have a bag that is too big and isn't clear, they will let you rent a locker, so you don't have to trek back to your truck.
Small women's clutch bags were aloud. All others had to be clear plastic.

*Covid*
The website claims that you have to have been vaccinated or pass a covid test within 72 hours of game time.
It also says that you have to "verbally " attest that you meet those requirement.
They don't check or ask when entering.

Masks were required to enter and walk around. You are aloud to remove them once you get to your seat.
These rules were very loosely enforced. Many walked around without them.

*TAILGATING*
I'm not sure if the Forum allows tailgating. You'll have to check their website.

So Fi tailgating is only allowed in the PINK parking lot.
They have 2 sections.
One for oversized vehicles and one for normal vehicles.

All other SO FI lots don't allow tailgating.

* The Stadium*
Once you get in is beautiful.
We had seats in section 504. The very top/north section of the Stadium.
It is steep.
The vew of the field was still unobstructed.
That Occulous is amazing.

As far as temp inside the stadium goes. It was perfect.
I don't know if it was a slight breeze from the open sections of the canopy or if they had air circulating, but it worked well.

All in all we had a blast.

Hopefully the parking attendants and SoFi powers that be get their act together as far as getting folks into the lots in a timely manner. We were definitely not impressed with the waits to get into the lots. We were in the pink lot, friends were in Orange and Brown lots. All of us had long waits getting in. We got to the area 45 mins after the lots opened. That scenario getting into the Coliseum tailgating lots was usually less time than the 20 mins it took us. Our friends in the other lots spent an hour plus getting in 2 hours before gametime. The bigger problem is the walk from the Pink lot. Talking to many tailgaters we all had the sneaking feeling that the Rams/Sofi don't really want tailgating. The put the lot farthest away and it's only the 2 lots. The Coliseum had MUCH more tailgate parking. The walk back to the car did a number on my wifes back. So now we have to contemplate options, like selling our Pink passes for Brown (closest to our entry point). It will suck not being able to tailgate.

The stadium was awesome. was not impressed with concession lines though. I thought things would be quicker and more streamlined than the Coliseum but it really wasn't. Bathrooms were of course an upgrade and only hit a small line once. Big upgrade over the coliseum. You can tell even with a smaller preseason crowd that this stadium is gonna be LOUD!!!!

Oh yeah. This stadium will be very loud.

The sound system in there is also a beast.

Sounds like going to a football game these days is hell. Is it really worth it? I spent thousands taking my family of eleven to the MNF game disaster against the Ravens two years ago. Traffic was hell, parking was hellacious, then a long walk, then a long wait getting through security. It wasn't worth the money. I felt ripped. Thousands of dollars spent for a ton of stress.

Cardinals stadium in Phoenix sucks too, but not nearly as bad as the coliseum.

We had a great time.
Just parking at the Forum next time is the way to go, if you don't have parking passes at So Fi.

LA venues are notorious, for long wait lines in traffic.
Its never stopped me from going to events.

Have season tickets and will be attending maybe half of the regular season this year living in Norcal.

We will either make day trips or with the prime time games stay at a hotel at LAX.

Our problem is getting back to the airport or hotel after the game. Everything I have read is it seems like quite the cluster with parking and getting a rideshare.

Any suggestions for how we can do this would be deeply appreciated.

It sounds like SoFi needs to work out some serious kinks. They sold it as a painless experience and yet there seems to be too many that were VERY unhappy to say the least.

We paid a premium for these seats in this stadium. All the bells and whistles will only go so far if it is a pain in the ass outside the three hours at the game.

Rideshares have sucked in general for a year or so now. Not as many drivers seeing unemployment is abundant. Can only imagine it will be worse around the venues. Last time we tried getting a rideshare at the coliseum after the game it sucked.

Need to get the media to pressure Kroenke to start a park and ride. There are multiple private lots near LAX that they can use. Contract a bus service as a shuttle. I paid $20 each game for my wife and I to park n ride from La Costa to Qualcomm for Charger games. The buses were regular metro buses. $10 each for the round trip. Parking was free at the CalTrans park n ride lot. The buses were always 3/4 full so the MTA didn't lose a lot of money.

Park n Ride is the only sensible solution. At Qualcomm, they had special lanes on the streets and in the lots for the buses so it was quick and easy.

Super cool they don't make you get out your vax card. I just honestly don't want to deal w being bothered w it anymore and it sounds like they're on the same page. I'll just leave it there.

Parking always sucks at stadiums. Cool they have forum parking open. That's a good alternative. Plus I'm sure they'll get the parking and transports sorted eventually. Stan spent too much money on that venue to skimp out on making sure his customers are taken care of. Esp when you're soending your kids college tuition to get average seats .

I'm surprised they don't do a Disney land type of shuttle transport to and from parking. Would be way faster and more efficient than full size busses

I'd suggest getting a private driver. You might spend $300 for the day. But it will be worth it imo. Esp if you're splitting the cost

It sounds to me that they really don't want Middle Class families at the NFL games or NFL activities. I thought that when the NFL ruined the Draft Weekend, with camping/tailgating that used to go in a big way. They are mking it so you don't want the major hastle of cooking food and drinking your own beer in the parking lot, and then having a long wait to get to the game on a bus. Their focus is on the upper 1% who don't ask about prices for things, or it's no obstacle for them. They want you to just buy their food and drink, which is their right I guess.... Looks like it's eternal streaming for me....

I think it's shitty to deter tailgating when you live in a state with such great weather. I get that it's greed and wanting you to buy their food and drinks in the stadium, but when I tailgate I still eat and drink beer in the stadiums.

If I were the Rams I'd revise all that and let all the lots have tailgating. Just lighten up Francis. Let the fans do what we do.

wow..scary stuff relating to parking...

i attended several home games at the coliseum, and my first time i paid $100 dollars to park in a lot that, when you crossed the street, you were walking down the blvd that led right to the parastyle end... where all the nfl exp was located.. and when the game ended, i was one of the first out, and on the freeway home way ahead of the crowd.. well worth it, and was glad to fork over the $ for the convienience all the other times i went...

forum parking sounds like the place i want to be gameday...

Coliseum was difficult for sure. We organized taking the Rail to Burbank and stayed at the crew hotel or flew out of Burbank Airport after the game due to the rideshare shit show.

These stories are disappointing but maybe this is just another Covid related experience right now. I know my business is in really crappy shape right now offering a lower grade of service in large part because of the pandemic.

I heard the rideshare experience was horrible after the game. Nothing available. Hundreds waiting for rides with no one offering the work. Yeah you are so right G-man about the rideshare business. So few drivers now. I wonder if that gig is up and back to taxis.

Thing is that rideshare is mostly a scam for the drivers. The net for MOST drivers when one accounts for all expenses including car payments, depreciation, insurance, maintenance, gas, tires, etc is something like $2/hr if not next to zero in more expensive places. Drivers don't see that because they don't have a jar in the car where they have to put money in for all those different headers... so they pocket what isn't used for gas and then struggle to figure out the rest.

There are a ton of drivers when folks get desperate and I suspect as word gets out, people will gladly sign up to do rideshare like Uber/Lyft as the season starts because it'll be on prime pricing and it will be a nice side hustle which many folks have.

As it's in Inglewood, what public transportation options are there? Also, as it's so close to the airport, I wonder if various companies will fill in the void and offer services from the airport or rail/bus stations to the stadium.

Seems like a really great opportunity for someone to seize.

I have not taken it yet, but I saw that there is a free stadium shuttle from the Green Line Hawthorne/Lennox station running 3 hours before and 1.5 hours after the game. So light rail might be the way to go. Maybe.

This was my point of the post.
Not to scare anyone off, but to share advise on parking and game day expectations.

The Forum takes time, yet holds less than half the amount of fans as So Fi.
To expect easy access to anything in LA is unrealistic.

People just need to be sure they allow time for traffic.

Just don't be in a hurry and enjoy the day.
