Give Brown reps on the DL.
Sit Rapp and see if Yeast can play.....S play has been bad all year long, lets see what the kids can do.
He has given up one ugly sack per game and got called for a hold yesterday, but, Skura has been a decent surprise to me. His balance isn't great which hurts him in pass protection but he gets some movement in the run game and is fairly mobile. I would keep Skura as veteran, cheap depth at C/G for next year.
Perkins didn't embarrass himself making his first start in the worst of all possible places.
I would keep the iso throws, roll outs and run pass options in this week but would open the passing game up right away.....let him play.
That is if Stafford isn't back.

The A'Shawn Robinson Injury ......caused DC to insert & start #93 Marquise Copeland with #92 Jonah Williams taking #93 main reserve position. We even saw #95 Bobby Brown getting some snaps in the 4th quarter. It was positive to see these 3 young DL'ers getting some real game experience due to most part the injury & future loss of Robinson to FA'cy in March. #91 Greg Gaines is my top priority if Rams 2023 UFA's. The DL would not hold up if they see both Robinson & Gaines depart.

The newest OLB/ER......meet DC Morris's new guy # 97 Mike Hoecht. I saw some excellent effort from #97 in his first start opposite Floyd. #97 & #99 provided a nice right-side duo. Lewis did see some snaps but he lost the outside edge several times & Mike Hoecht did a far better job of containment. It was obvious when observing he was schooled heavily to ensure just that, to protect & seal his outside edge.

DC Morris might have found something special here! It bares watching in the next 6 games of this season to see if Hoecht can be developed from DL'er to OLB'er. #52 Terrel Lewis must not be doing what DC Morris wants as a starter.
Hoecht managed more pressure than I think Lewis has generated all year.

The Silver lining for me is two-fold:

1. Our team is not this bad. We've been smacked in the face with a rash of injuries that I'm sure is unprecedented. It's actually comical how many players are hurt. That means, we'll be overlooked next year when healthy and people will be surprised by the turn around this team has.

2. Lots of depth players are getting valuable reps and experience. Should help us evaluate the lower half of our roster a bit better for future years.

If they have two serviceable TEs I would use 12 sets and run the ball more with Perkins. Other teams are doing this
and winning. Our opponents are stacking the lines daring us to pass so we might as well go power on power.

I was impressed by #97 & by also DC Morris getting him ready for regular season action & starting him @ a new defensive position. The Org. only has 2 ER's on the MR53 at this moment.:wow2:

We do know that #97 has the size @ 6-4 @ 310 lbs, It's been known for a long time & has been well documented he has the smarts. Hoecht's 4.65 speed coming out of college a few yr back was unreal. He has been working @ all the 3 DL positions since he signed in April 2020.

I thought that DC Morris would have activated rookie ER Daniel Hardy this past week after recently releasing former starting ER Justin Hollins & Takkarist McKinley. DC Morris has other healthy rookies ER's in Keir Thomas, Brayden Thomas & Zach VanValkenburg.

Michael Hoecht had more pressures in one game then Justin Hollins had all year. Keep playing him.

As to Raheem Morris, I think he be an excellent Head Coach for the Denver Broncos and then McVay can hire Vic Fangio to run our defense.

Michael Hoecht, OLB

Hoecht entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has been a depth piece along the Rams’ interior defensive line since. He’s one of LA best special teams players, and he’s willing to run down the field on kickoffs in a way you wouldn’t expect for a defensive tackle.

And now that makes sense, because Hoecht has transformed his body and grown into an outside linebacker for Los Angeles - a role he’s taken to over the last two weeks. The Rams released Justin Hollins this week, but Hoecht has also leapfrogged over former third rounder Terrell Lewis on the depth chart.

It’s not just impressive that Hoecht has earned playing time - he’s also playing well. He pressured Mahomes on multiple occasions, drew a holding penalty, and recorded six tackles. There was one play where Mahomes completed an intermediate throw to a receiver and Hoecht ran from the backfield to take the ball carrier down - a sign of relentless effort.

I love Hoecht.. but I think if you're starting him at OLB.. it's a sign of major depth issues at edge.. which we already knew.

I look at it the way I look at Morris defense.

Too soft for Ramsey to stay with the guy.

Plus what kind of tackle was it by Kendricks and where was Rapp on the play.

It was a stupid defensive alignment by Morris that allowed Kelce to score on that play.

I hope owners see how Morris kept KC out of the end zone when they got inside the 20 and sign him to be head coach

I want Morris gone. I have had enough of his defense this year.

If he doesn't have Weddle and Von Miller last year, we do not win the super bowl with his defense. Those guys made plays.

Morris has to have the best players for his defense to work.
Okay I have to say I looked at the play again and I was looking at different players in the picture. I was wrong on the Ramsey play.

He was press man against Kelce. Kelce burned Ramsey bad on that play.

My bad on my statement.

However, Ramsey was excellent the rest of the game. He just had one really bad play in that game.

But I do want to repeat something about that play - that was one pathetic tackle attempt by Kendrick. He needs to be benched for that alone. I remember Peters pathetic tackling attempt on a TD run play and Peters got traded just a couple weeks later.

Considering we were playing our 3rd string QB who doesn't have much of an arm, pretty much 2-4th string OL and basically no starting WR's; the fact we had chances to even win the game at all says a lot.
This is a painful year to watch but at least gives us a chance to see which young guys can be part of the future.
I'd like to see Rapp not out there. He is and has been a weak link for some time. Let's see if the other kids can do better.
I agree that Tutu can play, give him a chance we have nothing more to lose at this point.

I have always stated that I believe Tutu has the ability to play but that I am going to cringe if I ever see him get hit hard

It will be like one of those cartoon football hits where Bug Bunny is completely flattened by a football player and blows into his thumb to unflatten himself

Again, why Derion Kendrick? Rams have two other options, so going forward just like no Bobby Evans, please start Coby Durant & Shaun Jolly over Kendrick & Long. Durant & Jolly are faster and I'm confident they can tackle just as good. Please, we need to utilize this opportunity to see other players.
