He's only mildly decent in a very short field.
It would not surprise me when Taylor Rapp signs elsewhere in a defense that ensures he plays primarily in the strong safety (in the box) position......that he will be far more effective & maybe really good.

It was never a good sign for the Rams pass defense the last 4 seasons when I saw #24 Rapp lined up deep in the secondary. Never understood why our past 3 DC's did this.

I don’t see it. I will maybe have to go back & see for just the heck of it.

There are only a few players that frustrate me & he is one of them.

There are a few Rams players I have mixed emotions about.

I’m going with a emotion this week with Shelton vs. Brian Allen. Finding out what that results ends up being there .
Cam Akers on how he finish out the season is key,or who’s at RB ?
I think there was one game in 2021 he played in the box for the majority of the game and had a really good game iirc

I thought that maybe Morris had finally figured out that Rapp needed to play close to the line of scrimmage to be effective.

And then Morris moved him deep again. I threw my hands up in the air when I saw it.

WOW - so almost like Bonify’d said about being & D’Lineman.

I would just say Mark Barron had the size to be a legit WLB. He had good enough coverage skills.

Mark Barron got paid & Baltimore even believed in him for a minute.
Barron never played in Baltimore.

Sorry guys
I don’t see any silver linings. I love watching Rams football and the NFL. Watching preseason football the rest of the year sucks. It’s not like it’s a week or two. I also wasn’t fooled by the Rams defense last week. It’s not like KC ever thought they had to play hard to win. They could’ve put up 40 if needed.
Gonna be a long winter and off season to see if this year was a fluke, or a sign of things to come.
Dammit

Silver Linings to this season;
K. Williams looks like our 3rd down back going forward.
We have developed some depth on the OL with some depth guys stepping up and playing well (and then immediately getting hurt). --Akers is looking better week by week.
They have finally benched Evans and even when we lose another OL, he didn't get put back in.
I think the Rams realize the back up QB needs to be addressed this offseason.
Tutu looks like a playmaker, not sure I understand the under utilization especially at this point when we have none.

the most obvious silver lining is a lot of players who never would have seen the field going to see the field.

This will help build depth for the future.
But the one contradiction to that statement is that Evans saw the field

I saw in 2020 when Staley thought Taylor Rapp stunk & sat him. Fuller took over as the starter with JJ43. Troy Hill had 3 defensive TD’s.

We played pretty doggone good considering what the task was. 'Nuff said. My boy and I had a great time in KC, fans were awesome.

Not sure if it’s an optical illusion, but your fist looks huge in that picture. I would not want to get hit in the face by that thing lol
