Miller is a priority for me, btw. With uncertainty in the backfield.. lock up that pass rush.

Lol at fans being greedy. You cannot compare earnings for an NFL player against a working class fan who in many cases cannot even afford to attend a game on person. Apples and oranges as far as their life situations.

If 200+ million dollars in career earnings is not enough for someone to put a winning culture above $ to end their career, then they clearly do not fit the "we not me" mantra. Fuck em and feed em beans...

I highly doubt the fans are greedy as we don't get shit anyways other than a chance, on paper, to cheer for a better team player wise so not sure how that plays into it. Can't compare our jobs paying us vs a professional athlete as we are talking about a whole different level of employment.
Of course its greedy on the fans part. They want a player to sign for less than market value, because they want him to stay on their favorite team. And then villify a guy who wants what we all want, to be paid fairly for the job we do.

Its exactly the same. It's all relative. If the market values Miller at 18 mill per year, then he surely shouldnt settle for less. And come time for a raise, we all should feel the same way if we are going above and beyond in our job. Why accept less than market value if your work is well above?

I don't really get into the "fairness" or "loyalty" weeds. I want the key guys back, and I okay if the team risks some future ramifications that could occur from keeping the core together for another year or two.

Stated simply, I'll accept a rebuild down the road in exchange for another title!

Looks like he can get both in more than one place.
True but I'm guessing at that point, he'll probably go to the highest bidder then. Pretty typical for FA so I can't say I'd be surprised if that happened. As much as us fans look at it in terms of best teams to compete for a championship, the players almost always take the business approach. It is what it is at this point. Thankful he got us a SB, but I'll root against him as I do all other former Rams if we play his new team if he leaves us in FA.

If I was Stafford my concern would be how many shots at rings I get in my remaining years. In that mix the truth is the more of that cap space I take the less pieces I have around me.

So I would be looking for a low cap hit contract over the next few years. Something long term with light hits in the near term and the hope that by the time you get to the meat of the contract the market supports it.

It is entirely possible they get that done IMO.

That's what I'm hoping as well.

Lol at people expecting another person to accept less than what they're worth knowing they wouldn't do the same.

I'm not expecting, I'm hoping. And it'd be hard for me to take less. I'm just hoping Stafford is a better person than I am.

I know I would accept lower payment if I had already made my millions. But that's just me.

This is a greedy society we live in and it is just getting worse with the 1 percent people.

When is enough enough?

So true. How many mansions are enough? I could write an essay but I do not want to derail this thread.

That's easy for someone to say when not put in that position with millions on the line. Why would I take 5 mil when I'm worth 10? I know me personally you either pay me what I'm worth or someone else will and that's not greed it's knowing what you're worth and not settling for less.

Generally speaking, wealthy people don't leave money on the table or turn down opportunity to make more money. That's how they got to be wealthy in the first place.

Fans are always asking players to take less. It's just not realistic.
