Should we bring back Higbee and/or Havenstein?

I don't think we have an option now. If they were ready last game they should had been on the sideline.... Gotta go with experience in crucial games.

If you ask the HC the answer is yes. Pretty Obvious. Therefore the reason I thought was in future.
Cool.
Like I said in the first post; just looking for input.
I could see both of them contributing especially since Dotson is nicked up.
I'm sure they've considered moving McLendon inside with Havenstein at right tackle again.

You definitely bring them back. I'm good with either Hav or McClendon start. We have 2 starting caliber RTs. A good problem to have especially when one is considered long in the tooth. Also I cut Hav a break on some of his rankings as he's been banged up pretty much all year.

Every time I think about Parkinson dropping that perfectly thrown ball on 3rd down in the 4th qtr when the Rams desperately needed a 1st down i want to start throwing furniture around the room again.

Yeah man. Stafford is already streaky enough. Last thing we need is streaky pass catchers. The TEs who get out there must catch that fucking ball.

Actually, the options regarding the reinstatement of Higbee and Havs are directly related.

Havs is a lifetime Ram, a leader and a pillar of the franchise, but the fact is that his problems in pass blocking against speed rushers have worsened with age, giving Stafford little time to throw due to the pressures from our offensive right side.

Teams have been successfully attacking Havs for quite some time, and he has needed constant pass blocking support from tight ends and running backs.

Prior to his injury, in the first Seahawks game DeMarcus Lawrence was eating up Havs to the extent that our tight ends couldn't get out into passing routes, as they had to stay back to provide Havs with pass pro help.

As a result we were unable to move the ball at all in that game, and the Hawks totally dominated time of possession.

With McClendon's emergence in the second Seahawks game, our offensive tackles were able to pass block on their own, as a result we totalled over 500 yards of offence in that game.

Havs is a team guy and he likely knows that McClendon gives the Rams a better chance to win.

So, this is likely to end quietly, in a low key way.
Havs is likely to be benched in a gentlemanly, publicly face-saving way by still "being injured".

At this stage, even our backup linemen offer more athleticism and quickness than Havs does.

His problems with pass pro make him too much of a liability to be played in high leverage, sudden death playoff games.

Given his character and his contributions to the franchise, it would be great if he simply chooses to retire as a Ram at the end of the season.

The Parkinson disrespect - I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT!

Crazy useful player, so sorry he's not a superstar. Love having Higs back though. Also, Allen is a useful guy and unsung.

FWIW, as far as Hav is concerned, I'd be pretty doubtful they'd have him backup LT. I think your guy off the bench is Humphries for good or ill. Think Hav's strictly a RT at this point in his career. I would expect to see us move McClendon to LT and Hav to RT before Hav goes to LT.

As I said in another forum, I just wouldn't throw passes to Parkinson where it's going to be a contested catch.

Otherwise, he does a great job when he is open.

Those two are a lot of $$$$$, and they are always hurt. I think it's time to move on.
+1. The Rams have to get some O-lineman in the draft or FA, because Havs ($11.5M) and Higs ($8.7M) just can't stay on the field. I'd love to see them sign a top-tier young stud center like Tyler Lindenbaum if the Ravens somehow don't sign him. Or a CB like Jaylen Watson, who the Chiefs won't be able to keep since they have the worst cap space in the league.
