She is to me. That's how I'm reading them recently.

Not of fan of reporting and tweets that aren't in context or twisted word. I don't care who it is. I already have a couple examples of those. Hopefully she stops bc she's better than this.
Nope.

I say that because there’s an intent factor in “sensationalizing” information.
She reports. She doesn’t just repeat. There’s a huge difference between the two,

If he sits, it will confirm Jourdan’s reports that there was a setback.

Let’s revisit the timeline.

Kupp is a full go at training camp.

Kupp injures hamstring, sits for multiple weeks. Doesn’t practice.

Kupp returns to practice as a full participant and is expected to play week 1.

Kupp misses a practice. Rams say it’s a muscle strain and he’s day to day. Jourdan says it’s a setback and McVay reluctantly agrees.

It’s announced Kupp will be flying to Minnesota during the season opening game week to get his hammy looked at by a specialist to try and figure out why he keeps straining it. It’s reported by Ian Rappaport and others that he will likely miss game 1.

How can anyone read that timeline and think Jourdan is exaggerating or sensationalizing the situation?
Why are you asking me that question?

Because your implication was that if Kupp does play next weekend, then Jourdan was being sensationalistic and overly dramatic in her coverage. And people on this board that agreed with Jourdan’s coverage would have something to apologize for. Conversely if Kupp *doesnt* play, then it’s no harm no foul and not a big deal. Do you think ppl that are calling her a shit stirrer and sensationalist should apologize if Kupp *does* miss week 1? Seems only fair right??

This is a dumb argument but it was McVay who was twisting words. Not Jourdan. Her reporting on this story has been accurate. Kupp missing practice time this week to see a specialist halfway across the country is a pretty good indication that this isn’t simply a day to day issue. McVay can characterize and call it whatever he wants. But Jordan’s assessment of the situation is correct. Ian Rappaport says Kupp is likely not playing this week.

This has nothing to do w/ what I'm trying to say. We're never going to agree so whatevs.

Yeah, and that intent is feeding into the negative.

She reported (or tweeted) that Sean McVay isn't sure when Joe Noteboom would comeback. Is there or is there not a negative connotation w/ Joe Noteboom currently? What was left out is that coach also said he was hopeful that Joe Noteboom would comeback that week, or if not the week after.

She reported (or tweeted) Cooper Kupp has a set back. The reality was he called that would be fair to say AFTER Jourdan asked him if he would call it that. My issue is that she straight up tweeted that he said he has a setback. Which wasn't the actual exchange.

Again, grand scheme of things, I realize this prolly not a big issue that I'm making it out to be. I get that she's doing her job and I have no issues w/ her overall. Something I noticed especially b/c the team isn't viewed in a positive light now and tweets and quotes like this feed into that.

But ehh, again whatevs. I'm done here.

So just because McVay didn’t call it a setback means she’s not allowed to characterize it as such? When in fact that’s exactly what it is??

Her description of what happened was much more accurate than McVays. I understand fans don’t want bad news about their team, but her reporting of the Kupp situation as a setback is 10000% accurate.

Will you admit she was right when Kupp doesn’t play Sunday?

For the record…it’s McVays job to be cryptic as hell when it comes to injuries. If Seattle knows with 100% certainty that Kupp is out, it makes their game prep easier. McVay is just doing his job.

But so is Jourdan! Its Jourdan’s job as a reporter to see thru the BS when the team isn’t shooting her straight. And this was very clearly one of those instances. McVay was saying Kupp is day to day, Jourdan had sources saying otherwise, and eventually got McVay to acknowledge it was a setback. Now it comes out that Kupp has to fly to Minnesota to see a specialist, and ppl on here are still speculating she’s somehow milking the story. It’s absurd.

I couldn't care less whether McVay was hedging or Jourdan was sensationalizing. It's inherently going to happen during the course of both of their jobs. Sometimes he's gotta play coy and sometimes she's gotta guess. So on that, who cares? I want to know WTF is up with Cooper Kupp.

LOL. I didn’t imply anything about Jourdan. She, unlike some, has not claimed to know if Kupp will play this week.

People here who are already declaring him out, though, will look silly if he plays…just as I said.

Okay.

I just think you're being hypersensitive.

If you want the straight regurgitation... that's what the Rams website is for. Her insight and observations have been a great addition to the coverage of the Rams. 2020? I remember her hyping up what the defense was doing. She was dead on.
Remember.. she's not a headline chaser. She knew McVay didn't call plays in a game last year and held on to it as part of a larger story working to give insight into the Rams and McVay's year. If she was a sensationalist.. she would've blared that out in tweets and hot takes... but that's not who she is. She has opinions that she's developed as a football reporter and the person who covers the Rams, but she is not a hot-take fool like sooooooooooo many in today's media landscape.

There's a huge difference between a reporter with perspective.. and guys who do commentary and hot takes for a living throwing shit out there.

Ok. I look forward to reconnecting this weekend when he’s ruled out.

Did you not hear McVays whole speech the other day about the difference between “return to play” and “return to performance”? You think Kupp is going to miss 90% of training camp, most of the week 1 practice and *still* play Sunday??? LOL.

Just to add on to the Jourdan thing... she's more than happy to be complimentary of the Rams when warranted.. but she's also happy to call them out when they don't perform or when the organization keeps making the same mistakes. She's really been on them about the overall Offensive Line building philosophy and how it really needs to have a philosophical shift. To her credit.. she's pointed out that it seems they're doing that.. but some damage is already done.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem? If not, how did you conclude that I’ve taken any position as to whether he will play, other than to confirm that we don’t know?

If he doesn’t play, and your first impulse is to gloat to those who held out hope that he might…wow. What does that say about you?

LoL. It says that I’m not a sucker that laps up the talking points of the coach of my favorite team. And just because you are willing to do so doesn’t make you any better of a fan. It just makes you a sucker.

You think I want Cooper to miss Sunday?!?!?

I think you keep trying to put words in my mouth, and it’s tiresome. :sleepy:

And, yeah… part of you wants him to miss Sunday so you can prove that those who held out hope were “suckers.” You literally said you’re “looking forward” to it. Are you sure you’re not a Seahawks fan?

Nah you were questioning my fandom because I wasn’t willing to believe McVay’s stance on Kupp hook, line, and sinker. You were implying good fans just believe whatever their coach says. Which….lol
