Ok - I just saw the last pass play by Wolford

Can someone tell me who the frick Wolford was passing to?

I do not see any Ram within 20 yards of that pass.
I have no idea, watched that replay from behind him and see no viable explanation. He either had a brain fart and thought the Seattle player was a Ram or he just had the worst case of noodle arm I've ever seen. Either way, was bad. That underthrow to Tutu earlier in the game that was a probable touchdown and then the terribly late throw to Williams that was intercepted killed what little part of me I had left to try and glass half full him being the backup going forward.

Lewis was the starter. They dumped Hollins.. and had no one else. What are you saying here?

Fuller is the starter at the position. He's injured. A new injury after playing this year. No one beat him for the position.
Yeah.. you left out two starters.

I'm sorry.. the.. "yeah, but.. " just doesn't fly.

Yep.. they blew the game yesterday.. we can debate how much was scheme and how much was execution.. you know what won't change? They lost.
I am saying here they were missing one key starter, maybe 2 if you count Robinson. The other guys were pretty much interchangeable. Hoecht did more in one game yesterday than Lewis has done all season so its a reach to call him a loss yesterday.

It's a fact to say they were down 5 starters. Not an opinion or angle.

Fuller was healthy much of the yr and sitting behind Rapp & Scott, so you rally want to count him as a huge loss?

Point is the offense is severely undermanned yet they handed a relatively healthy defense the lead and they pissed it away in 2 minutes once again...at least this time it wasn't 40 seconds.

Imagine had they just won those two games, they would be 5-7 and at least would have a heart beat with their remaining soft schedule. And that's with the shit that has transpired with this team.

When was Fuller healthy and sitting? He's coming off of major ankle surgery and injured his hamstring.
He's the starter. He's injured.

The Rams offense played it's best game in weeks! It was great! They outperformed their season average by about 6 points.
The Defense was not great! They gave up 4 points more than season average!

Seattle's offense averaged 26.5 points per game coming in.. they scored 27.
The Seahawks defense averaged giving up 25.3 points per game (worse than the Rams) and the Rams scored 23.

Lot's of different ways to evaluate the performance. But.. against the Seahawks averages? They performed almost exactly the same.

You are just gonna die on that hill aren't you?
It's not a hill to die on. If you're trying to create angle.. that's your hill to climb.

It's just a fact that they were down 5 starters.

Why *you* want to die on that hill is a different question.

They did.
I just didn't expect much.. did you?

I mean.. are you actually looking at who they're running out there?

No need to answer.. I know the response is something to the effect of it's still only because Morris sucks. All good.
I expected them to at least hold them to a FG. To let them walk down the field and leave 40 seconds to spare was a joke, yet here you are defending them while pointing fingers at an offense that lost abt 15 guys or so.

Dude..
I said they failed because they failed.
I'm not defending anyone or anything.
I'm not pointing at the offense and blaming them.

I'm discussing what their performance was and putting it into context. I'm also looking at the actual *plays* to try and see what happened.

Some bad defensive calls and some bad defensive execution on that last drive.. it added up to shit.

I'm just pointing out that the overall defensive performance wasn't that bad.. and the overall offensive performance, while much better than what we've seen lately, wasn't that impressive when you look at Seattle's defense. I mean.. did you see what the Raiders just did to them? They're a bad defense. While their offense has been good this year.

I hope McVay sees that and does what needs to be done at the end of the season.

BTW the offense was without

Stafford
Kupp
Robinson
Noteboom
Edwards
Brewer
Bruss
Anchrum
Jackson
McCutcheon

Not to mention that these guys have missed most of the season

Allen
Shelton
Jefferson
Williams

And the 3rd/4th string OL have had guys miss time once they got here... guys like
Nsekhe & Aboushi

That was their 2nd highest yardage total of the season 438 and the most yards passing they have had all year.

Yes! And they outperformed what they've been doing!

Who is arguing against this? Because you're arguing against yourself.

Yes, I did.
I also *observed* that they outperformed their season scoring by 6 points.

Are you so in a hurry to argue that you're ignoring what I'm saying?

I'm not BLAMING the offense for anything. They had a better day than they've had in a while and, yes, were catastrophically short handed.
What am I missing?

Yep.
Would you expect less against a defense down 5 starters? Honest question, I'm not being snarky at all.

They just lost the best defensive lineman in football.. their second best Lineman... their starting OLB.. in one week.

That's not gonna impact stuff?

I went back and counted time from snap to throw.. and looked at air yards.
The complaints about the defense being one you could short-hit to death wasn't the case.. they just kept getting beat.. all over the place.. short, long.. medium.

Did you see something different?

You were just trying to downplay it by stating they did what offenses typically do against Seattle without mentioning we have guys playing who were on the streets at the start of the season. And other guys who have been nothing more than PS guys thus far in their careers and others who missed most of the yr with injuries and are just coming back.

Hey whatever. You refuse to admit the defense and it's soft scheme is a problem and in no way has helped a struggling injured offense despite being relatively healthy most of the year.

No, I wasn't downplaying it, I was putting it in context. It's up to you whether that matters.

And... um... the context of the Rams entire season on offense is the injuries.. let's not pretend that I'm ignoring them.. they're just a reality. It's why this team is where they are.. historic number of Oline injuries and now their QB and best two receivers, it's ridiculous!

AND.. they had their best game on offense in a while ( I said that)... AND Seattle has a bad defense.

You refuse to admit that defensive personnel is in issue... despite losing major contributors from last season that were never replaced.

You refuse to think that there's anything wrong with the defense other than Morris.

Me? I think it's more personnel than scheme this year. Why? Because I've seen what Morris does with good personnel.

Hey.. whatever.
