Don't tell Jeff Fisher that lol......scary to think he was the only one able to at least win one a year against them. Problem is he sucked for a lot of other games. McVay should hire him only for the Whiner games.
One positive you can say about Fisher is that his defenses were physical.... both with the Titans and the Rams.

One starter?
Not to be presumptive, but, are you a Rams fan?
They're missing Donald, Robinson and Lewis on the front.
Hill and Fuller in the back.
5 starters.

If you want your defensive hot takes to be taken seriously, I would suggest knowing who's on the field.
Lewis was starting by default.

Fuller hasn't been a regular starter since late last yr.

I did mention Robinson in a follow up message and I forgot about Hill.

However, by NFL stds their defense has been fairly healthy most of the yr. It's been nothing like the offense in terms of injuries. Yet the offense handed the D the lead once again late and they couldn't even hold the Seahawks to a FG on the last drive.

Exactly what we need just for that Whiner game. Honestly, I think if Jeff Fisher had stuck to being a D coordinator, he'd would have been a good ass one in the long run. However, he wanted to be the guy, but as we all know, he didn't know shit for offense and couldn't help draft it either. I will say this though, he had an eye for D talent. He did have a hand in drafting AD.

morris coordinates defenses like spags head coached teams, like he's scared of his own shadow.

BOTTOM LINE - Jeff Fisher getting FIRED was The Best thing The Rams ever did to hire Sean Mcvay. F - the guy. He is garbage & his last coaching gig proves it.

Almost as bad as Tampa Bay.

Stats are for losers, but losing is losing so the question is. What is Raheem Morris excuse now.

I’ve been his biggest supporter, but on 3rd & long you can’t let the chains keep moving no mAtter what.

The problem is, last year defense was designed to give up something we could control/ And if pressure got there before hand better for us. This year we can't control offenses. They make a point to get it out before our pass rush gets close. We don't have the players to stop/ or even control them. If Donald played today, we woold have won by 10 points as Seattle is the first team we've seen in awhile that wants to go deep regularly, And it takes time for those routes to develope, He'd got home a couple of times if he had,

Hoecht has been healthy all season. Lewis is one of Raheems boys and Hoecht isn't. Jonah Williams has looked promising as an edge but Raheem won't play him there. What does this say about a coach who doesn't know his players? He's too busy not giving a damn to know what talent he has on the roster. Once again he trotted out Kendricks who stank up the field while Decobie makes a play then is sent promptly to the sideline and Rochell who was a promising starter can't even get game snaps. What does this say about Morris? I saw in TC and preseason how good Hoecht and Williams are. Obviously, Morris isn't paying attention. How can you coach a defense when you don't know the strengths and weaknesses of your players? Geez dudes this is coaching 100.

Rochell and Durant are his man coverage CBs both with 4.3 speed. Does Morris play them when he does call for man coverage? No, he plays his zone coverage CBs because frankly, IMO Raheem doesn't know the difference. Hill and Long are zone-coverage CBs. They need to play downhill. I'm not a DC and I can see that. It wouldn't surprise me if OCs tell their WRs that if they see they are in man coverage with Kendrick to simply outrun him, nothing more is required.

However, by NFL stds their defense has been fairly healthy most of the yr. It's been nothing like the offense in terms of injuries. Yet the offense handed the D the lead once again late and they couldn't even hold the Seahawks to a FG on the last drive.

Totally agree this was Morris' loss. One fucking stop and they win. His guys are beginning to become undisciplined, which is an early indication of coaching issues.

I liked the creativity on offense. McVay seems to be doing a lot more coaching now than earlier in the season. So there is growth there and something to be positive about.

So painful that underthrown ball to TuTu... that was a sure 6. Wolford, besides his mobility, sucks. Overall great effort by most everyone. They kept it competitive and were fired up.

All I know is that I knew we would not win the game with Morris defense giving up chunks of yards in the last two minutes.

I really hope he finds a HC job and maybe McVay can somehow get Fangio to come be his DC

I agree with one poster who said Ramsey should be made a safety

I could see this as the secondary next year if Ramsey would lower his ego to play safety

Rochelle and Durant as Boundary CBs
Kendrick as Slot CB - when they go nickle
Scott as in the box safety on running downs (heck Rapp would be good in that spot too)
Ramsey at one Safety Spot
Yeast/Lake at the other safety spot

Probably the last chance to win a game the rest of the year.
Great efforts from Atwell , Powell , Akers wasted by our terrible defense. Not sure why Wagner decided to play his ass off today after 11 weeks of showing nothing.
I like Ramsey , but he’s not worth the cost. Guys like him are supposed to make big plays that actually win games. Not happening
Been saying all year that the defense is just as bad as the offense with injuries. The core of the defense has played together all season and keeps getting worse.
Same thing every week.
You would think they could muster one messily stop to win a game.
Does anyone else notice how stupid our edge blitzes are ?
If you have no chance at getting to the QB , get your fucking hands up and try to tip the ball.
5 or 6 times yesterday , they kept running at Geno and he lobbed it over their head. That’s either lack of decent coaching or lack of football skills. That’s taught in pee wee ball.
Stop and get your damn hands up.
It never happens. Besides Ramsey, does anyone on the backend have type of football IQ ?
I really like Scott , but he couldn’t cover my grandma in a narrow hallway.
Kendrick’s is just plain bad.
You can see it coming every time he’s in a bad match up. Of course he’s overmatched by anyone that ha goes against. Put his ass on the pine or back on the bus. Try someone else. Could it be any worse than watching him blow it every week ? I doubt it.
There’s no quick fix with these same guys.
Bottom line is WTF happened ?

I don't think we'll pay a safety so no Scott or Rapp. And I'm sure we can do better than Kendricks on the field by next season. I thought Durant was a Nickle DB... Anyway, i'm sure lots of changes will be made.

Possible but I think they resign Scott especially if they go in a different direction in DC

I'm with you. Scott is a difference maker. And to go from a UDFA RB to what he is now is an incredible success story for the Rams FO and coaching staff.

I can’t be upset. If the Rams played Seattle without Geno, Lockett, DK, plus maybe Woolen and Woods, and lost, then I’d be upset. That’s the equivalent of what the Seahawks played against us.

Durant should have been starting sooner. I’m still wondering why no Rochelle. He looked promising last season.

This is a perfect time to let our young defenders "take their lumps". Durant, Kendricks, Lake, Yeast, Hardy, etc.. Nothing to lose and valuable experience to gain. Sure, it could be ugly at times but who cares? Experience is the goal.
