You're confusing the fact that I say they are to blame for faults in the roster to me saying they did nothing right.

You take the praise and you take the blame when youre running the organization.

This is the vent thread where we cite faults and wrongs.

I get it you just see me citing wrongs and don't get that there are two sides to the discussion.
They definitely failed to upgrade the secondary. Counting on guys like Witherspoon & Forbes was a mistake. Durant is what he is. A 3rd CB. They needed to address that position to at least hope a rookie or two could grow into a quality player by playoff time.

D-will was the one getting wrecked out there.
Yeah, I somehow forgot about Williams and his play. I guess my brain blocked it out.

Forbes didnt play the first half on D, but played special teams. He then started the 2nd half. Any chance there was a disciplinary action there by McVay? Why sit the half, but play STs?

Forbes was banged up from the Bears game with his shoulder.

I'm not. You're exaggerated "100%" is hyperbolic and silly. I get it.. we're fans.

And, honestly... The biggest play and biggest mistake wasn't a recurring Special Teams issue or roster weakness.. Xavier Smith choked. It happens in sports. He has not been an issue in the Rams *previous special teams issues earlier this season.

Seattle is a HELL OF A TEAM and you're not going to beat a team that good by giving away a touchdown, especially on their home field.

Could the Rams have made some better decisions this season? Yup. But they made soooooo many good ones and did such an incredible job developing the overall roster.

One play, on the road in one of the loudest stadiums against the best team in the league other than the Rams.. was the difference.

It's easy to say.. "if they did such and such a move instead of such and such move.. they would've been better and won"... but it's not necessarily true.
I'm not even going to read that because your first sentence shows me you don't get it. You want to be angry at someone and you chose me and that post.

Lots of valid criticisms
This one only hurts this bad because of how close we were.
Should we have been? Was this
After trading for Stafford in '21 the Rams started kicking the leagues ass out of the gate. They went from good to great at QB and upgraded a very good roster with lots of contributions from young udfas and late picks but unlike this years or last years team, they also had some bona-fide absolute badasses and proven vet studs spread out across all three units. McVays O with Stafford and Kupp and Whitworth lead the way but the defense had the best player at an position in his prime and an all-pro corner. Shit, even the STs featured pro-bowl caliber vets at Kicker and Punter. They didn't stop there, adding Von Miller and O'Dell Beckham in Nov.

I know it's long and nobody needs a history lesson but I'm getting to my point, I promise.

That 21 team needed every one of their star players and vet studs to come through in big moments and even with all the talent on that team, every one of those games were a baby door hair away from a loss.

Weren't we supposed to be rebuilding? That's why our defense is the lowest paid and our ST have been ignored. They haven't had much cap room or premium draft picks over the past few years to speed up the process of restocking the roster. Last years team was much better than it should've been. We weren't supposed to be in the conversation but we outperformed expectations and we just picked up where we left off from last year.
Yes, getting that close and knowing we could've won another ring is tough, but perspective matters and the saying "playing with house money" comes to mind.
Because of great coaching and drafting and the best QB+WR duo in the league, we've been making the post season and even winning playoff games while we're rebuilding.

All seasons that don't end in a championship are a failure. This was a huge failure.

We had a hole the size of Sagittarius A* on this team, the secondary, and nothing was done to address it. It's not even like it was a secret, everyone knew BEFORE the season started our secondary was a joke. The Colts were able to get Sauce Gardner while the Rams office mostly sat on its hands at the deadline. Ridiculous.

That's enough of Shula. You aren't your grandfather. Not even close. And you never will be. That guy needs his ass canned ASAP.

Then the special teams turned out to be absolute dogshit and far too little, too late, was done to address that. I vehemently dislike Tutu Atwell and fully believe he doesn't belong on an NFL roster, but you can't tell me he couldn't be at least more useful than the kick returners we did use most of the season.

As for McVay, he's entering Harbaugh/Tomlin territory in my book and he seriously needs to consider giving up play calling.

Lastly, Super Bowl 60 can fuck right off. I'd rather go get some carbolic acid from the lab at work tomorrow and pour it in my eyes than watch two of my three most hated teams play for a championship.

But that logic doesn't work while the wound is so fresh.

"They were this close dammit and I (we) deserved it. Their decisions came back to bite us in the ass!!! They need to wake the fuck up and.....(whatever)"

They gave us a team that was entertaining as fuck!! That had us all believing we were gonna win the Super Bowl. Hell it was after our first loss ( a special teams brainfart) we all said, "yeah we just beat the badass defending SB champs in their house....if we block for a FG. We've got a really good team"!

I haven't enjoyed a Rams season this much except for 2021 or 1999. It was awesome. Right up until the end. So we didn't make the SB. Ain't like that hasn't happened before.

Our offense put up 1060 yards and 64 points the last two times we played the #1 defense in the league. Yeah we lost, but I'm still proud as hell to be a Ram fan. We'll win it again. Bank on it.

Wish I shared your optimism, but if we can actually become a more complete team on defense and special teams, then maybe you’re right.

If..if…if
