McVay was clear that they are working on getting a couple of their pending free agents signed before next Monday. Wondering who they are focused-on.

Guessing WR but not sure between Robinson, Atwell and Johnson. With Kupp almost certainly gone, the Rams are down to Nacua and Whittington.

Also guessing Hoecht (seems like a coaching staff favorite) could also be a target.
Maybe Gallimore, Witherspoon and ... please God, not to start ... Rozeboom.

Let's just all pray that Reeder isn't re-signed. I'd rather have Rozeboom as a starter than Reeder anywhere on this team.

I chuckle a little bit because a lot of "insiders" were sure a trade was coming - but mcvay is saying the opposite.

Also some teams didn't believe stafford was ever leaving - so that sentiment seemed to be more correct.

He also isn't going to say he thought he was gone.

Yeah but McVay didn't have to say anything about it at all - he could have shirked the question like coaches always do. The way he states it multiple times in such a straightforward way, seems pretty believable to me.

McVay saying he never thought it would happen doesn't mean it wasn't close. The reports are that everything was worked out with the Giants and Stafford just changed his mind.

McVay said that he just never allowed himself to think of Stafford leaving.

Maybe - but why would we believe reporters who mostly said Stafford was gone - and then he wasn't? Including the Raiders beat reporter who was also certain he was getting traded there.

That's more believable?

It's just not just McVay saying this also - there was also reports about how many teams thought it was all BS and that Stafford wasn't every going to leave.

I think this is an excellent point. It's good to take note of Who says What, and remember.

Being a highly-regarded "Insider" requires being right most of the time. It's a competitive environment.

There is a certain amount of Cover-Your-Ass in follow-up reporting when "Insiders" get it wrong.

Sign roseboom he's a great backup. Yeah he's not great but he's at least good enough to depend on if someone gets injured

Sign spoon. Please for the love of God sign him. He's a great number #2 CB and quite honestly played like a solid #1

Heocht is a great rotational/utility player id sign him if the price was right.

Everyone else can walk

I would add Demarus Robinson to this list, and it is complete.

I would have thought so too but after watching Les Snead’s video conference call yesterday, it doesn’t seem like Robinson is in their short term plans.

Snead is probably not wanting to show his hand, " you don't want to play poker with this guy".
