Can't we pre rank and draft live and autopick for those not wanting to commit. or we could do live and autopick leagues separately.

That's a great question. NFL.com allows preranking and auto draft. I will defer to bomebadeeda as to if Yahoo will if he knows. Otherwise, we will determine this.

It might work out if you held it on a Friday (or Saturday....) night(morning...) and then you might could get some overlap. Now here's a question. Does the league run on the same CST (or EST or MST or even Left coast time....) time for all transactions? Usually if "waivers" are used it's 8 AM CST. But could it be tweaked to fit the time frames of "other" locales and time zones?

Thursday September 4th is game one. So we are looking at Aug 29, 30, 31 for draft dates so injuries are in?

As far as waivers and such, we will need to investigate.

Yahoo allows Pre-Ranking. But you have to play close attention to their "default" rankings. It really over values media stars.

I am pretty sure you an set up to autodraft in a livedraft. I've commished a few times over the years and will be doing another annual this year.
I will check it out tonight if I get home in time.

Yes but you can go in and re rank players where you want and even tell the automated system to draft a certain position in each round. At least you used to be able to. Has Yahoo removed some features?

I'm pretty sure it still has those capabilities.

I just posted a question on how to accomplish having a dedicated Commisioner (who doesn't play in that league....it automatically places a team in the Commish's name upon building the league) So I am asking how to set it up where they aren't in it as we have talked about. I'll post the answer(s) when I get one. Posting below....

Information please
A fansite I regulary go to wants to have leagues here @ Yahoo. It appears there will be 4 different leagues. It has been suggested that whoever is Commisioner for the leagues should try to "play" in a different one (That way the guy making the decisions, doesn't have a dog in the race to "affect" his decisions). How would one accomplish that (as the league automatically defaults to the commish...having a team....)? Thanks for any help.

Excellent. You can be our fourth commissioner. We accept your offer. :)

I am not too sure you can commish a league and not have a team in the league. Even if the commisioner creates a team and then deletes it, the whole league is gone (I think)

but you can have co-commisioners and put any changes trades etc to a league vote

Here's how we can do it. You are listed as commissioner but you are not the commissioner. You grant the commissioner admin rights to the actual commissioner. I saw that you can do that.

THAT commissioner is listed as commish in your league but is not and grants you the rights.

See?

Like in "Throw MaMa From the Train".

"The commissioner can have a co-manager"

That was the answer to my question. I should have saved myself the headache and just ask Mike (Rhody).
So I guess the "solution" would be to set up the league and then bring someone in to run "your " team.

Yes, so we are all set with this.

Time to get started setting up the leagues.

I have started ROD East.

I can rename it if we want but I was thinking East, West, Central 1, and Central 2.

It indicates the draft times BUT it is also boring? Thoughts?

No, a commissioner sets up a league where he will play. The actual commissioner joins and the first guy gives up the commissioner rights to him is what I'm thinking. Yes?

It appears you wouldn't do co-commissioner because that limits their power but you can actually give up the commish chair.

OK, Passing scoring. Let's hash this out.

These are our choices. I have them set the way I prefer. Our goal is to balance the positions as much as possible, yes?

Please speak up now on your advice! Thanks.
