VJ & OBJ can fill the gap, will they is the question. I am concerned about VJ's health as it is extremely important he stays healthy and available. VJ will surely have an increased roll and number of targets at least until OBJ is up to speed. I think Van is up to it but the fact he is nicked and will be asked to do more concerns me a little but it was good to hear SMV say he should be a go on Monday

This is what I was saying in that we were a Woods or Kupp injury away from being irrelevant in the playoffs. We had a depth issue that most around the football world didn't understand after losing 3 WR's in 2 weeks.
So you jinxed him is that what you’re saying?

Almost makes me miss the April Fools posts... "ha ha just kidding, not real"....

As I get older, seems harder to take big injuries to my favorite team. So much want the Rams to win another title in my lifetime, and I hate how these sudden lightning bolt injuries can jeopardize the whole thing.

Robert Woods-- class all the way. Here's hoping OBJ gets up to speed quickly.

On the upside (and I LOVE Woods, so not saying this is anything other than dreadful news), is there any position on the entire team where we could lose such a good starter and still be so good?

Anyone know what number he's going to wear?
OBJ? I was wondering too. Usually I can predict pretty well on a vet keeping their # on their new team. I was seeing Wolf giving up his number again as he has no former connection to #13 in the past. But then I researched OBJ having #3 in college... though Akers had laid claim to that # before getting hurt. He was going to keep 23 and change to 3 in 2022. So OBJ may take 3. Also #1 is open with DJax gone. So I'm looking at those options. I know, I'm always on the really important stuff! :p

Update: per Jake he'll wear #3.

Love everything about Woods, but now there is no other alternative but for every man to step up. Ben Skowronek will be important from a blocking perspective. He's big and excelled at blocking in college, now he needs to prove to stay healthy too and provide blocking in the run game.

Van Jefferson...The time is now, has to step up and be a reliable target each week to take some press off Kupp. That means to always be available when called upon, not be MIA in big games.

Odell Beckham, Jr. Step doing the little things and being a good teammate too. If you can add some big plays, great, but check you attitude at the door and be ready and available as health has been a struggle for OBJ too.

J.J. Koski....Be a reliable Punt Returner, but the guy who they feel confident in because he Rams can no longer expose Kupp regardless of him just signaling for a fair catch.

Personally, i'd like to see McV adapt to the Woods loss and lean on the RB's and run game more heavily, rather than run the same offense business as usual...which is what i suspect we'll see.

Some issues with that, first & foremost the loss of Johnny Mundt. McVay IMO, does not trust Kendall Blanton and thus less 12 personnel with double TE's. Also the health of Henderson, it happened against the Titans as he went out and Michel does not offer the same type of explosiveness combined with I doubt they want Buddy Howell on the field.

I do agree that I would like McVay to run the ball more and sometimes you have to trust your guys, he'll have to trust Skowronek and others, so IMO, Blanton was a very good blocker in college either trust him or go find another TE that can contribute from a blocking perspective.

Yeah i feel like the trust issues you mentioned are now the same new trust issues we have in the 11 personnel pass game. Not only trust but fit issues, like marrying the run and pass. Woods & Kupp being the blockers that they are, alot of the stuff they like to run will be ineffective.

Unless OBJ comes in seamlessly and is outstanding, i think it's a big mistake to run the playbook like Woods is in there.

When I think of running the ball… the Rams used Woods as a “running back” in some ways with end arounds and quick passes.

He was uniquely used with RAC plays… we will miss that part of his game. It helped take slight load off our running backs too.

I don't worry about the RAC plays, OBj can make a cut and break a game wide open. He's been excellent RAC at times. Also, can see him doing some of those end arounds.

I also watched that video of this season and OBj getting open and it clearly showed that he still has IT. Let's just hope Stafford and him connect right away.

I think you are correct. OBJ can can do a lot of those RAC plays.

My first chance to speak on this. It really makes OBJ speed up getting acclimated to the Ram offense and gives Skow some opportunities along with TE Hopkins also.

How good the Rams look at WR Monday night is going to be a big deal, as well as how McVay game plans. He simply has a tough time against the 9er D'...and if you ask me it's because McVay gets tunnel vision with the WRs and too often neglects how effective using the TE can be.

I've said it many times...HIGBEE IS TOO GOOD to not be used more in the offense. I can only hope McVay gets it into his head!!!!
