Refs cost us this year. Pisses me off as we now have to win 4 more.

I'm sick of it eating away at me, and when I bring it up, I have a few folks here saying "drop it, it's not the reason", but it is the exact reason we have to pull a miracle to make the playoffs.

You might complain, "It shouldn't have been close enough for the refs to influence", and to me that just shows you're naive. If you think there's THAT much difference between teams in the NFL, you're dead wrong. We can't be expected to play as well as we did against the Cards every week and hope that every team plays as poorly, so we can overcome poor/biased officiating.

If we even get 1/4 of the 50/50 calls against the Seahawks and Steelers (we got exactly ZERO and even had some flat out imaginary calls against us), we are 9-3 and in the driver's seat.

Even opponent's fans can see, it's not just homer-itis. Read this from Cards subreddit:

Anyone watching this game could see how one-sided the officiating was, but no biggie, look at the score. I say BIGGIE, because the score of two of our losses would have had us WINNING, which is...I don't know...KIND OF IMPORTANT.

I'm going to let it go, but it won't be until a week or two after we're eliminated, because our departure from contention will be 100% related to officiating.

Officiating has been garbage all year across the league. It really has been an embarrassment, but frankly this is what the NFL gets for appeasing the crybabies in New Orleans. Big ol black mark on their 100th season, which they're desperately trying to make as exciting and fun as last year.

The Rams have made a lot of their own mistakes as well, but the officiating has not helped at all, and in games of inches, that very well could be the difference between the playoffs and not.

Unfortunately the NFL wont know how to fix anything because they're ran by a bunch of 90 year old men who don't even know how to wipe their own asses.

The reviewable PI calls need to be gone.

What needs to be reviewable is the roughing the passer calls. They are out of hand - look at that call on Oko yesterday. Against a decent team, that could have been a backbreaking, considering it resulted in an INT.

To be fair, there was an equally absurd roughing call on Goff in the first half.

I have never been one to be skeptical about officiating in the NFL.........,until this year.

Goff got called for intentional grounding that clearly was a blown route by the receiver. Goff wasn't under pressure. You could tell the receiver (I believe Cooks) didn't go where Goff thought he should be going.

The EXACT same thing happened with Brady last evening. No call. But got Brady in the headlines yelling at his receivers.

The Obo call was complete bull shit also.

Yeah, that was definitely borderline. He did hit him low, but it was ankle low...

I just love that I've seen guys literally tackle WRs and not get the DPI called (even on review to booth), but now some new edict (to supposedly FIX what wasn't broken), is instituted right as we approach the playoffs.

This league is setting themselves up for epic failure when a playoff game is decided by a call that everyone knows was wrong, simply because the players are confused, the refs are confused, and the morons who review and decide are even more confused. Great recipe.

We have to play better as well.
That so called fumble/td against Pitt was horrible.
However. Our play on the field was even worse that day. Play better and we win anyway

Yeah I went through the frikken roof on the intentional grounding call. That was seemingly indicative of how the refs have treated us this year though. I have NEVER been a conspiracy theorist, but..... I swear the refs are making us pay for them being embarrassed by the non call in the NFCCG.

The New Orleans Saints are laughing at this

And therein lies the rub. Pretty much every call this year that could have gone one way or the other, and many that *should* have gone our way are instead going against us. Consistently. Either the league or just the refs themselves are punishing us for the non-call in NO, forgetting the other non-calls that benefited the Saints.

And that in part is because Asshole Face is a whiny little bitch who has to keep a box of tissues handy when he watches movies on the Lifetime channel.

I don't think so. No time. They're really busy getting their briefs ready to be filed for when they are eliminated by another DPI that goes against them, but the refs don't call it and the replay officials don't overturn it.

Refs didn't cost us anything in the Seahawks game.

Blame our kicker who won't be here next year, likely because of that missed kick.

Yea, it cost us against the Steelers. It happens. We still could have won in spite of the refs.

In fact - that one is on our kicker too. If he makes the kick before half, we're in FG range at the end of the game to win it.

Zuerlein has missed his fair share this year but he is one of the most accurate kickers under 40 yards.

He hasn't missed one all year (including extra points).

Over 50 yards he has been fairly accurate as well.

However, I don't know why he is missing the 40 to 49 yarders this year.

It seems all kickers this year are missing the 40 to 49 yarders this year.

I would not get rid of Zuerlein because I have seen what teams go thru without a decent kicker.

Exactly
Scored only 3 offensive points in the Pittsburgh game, BUT it was the Refs fault.
Yeah mkay...

We still should be at least 8 - 4 and tied with Minnesota for the last wild card spot (after Minnesota loses tonight - one of the few times I will be rooting for Seattle)
