so just to be clear, when the td is being reviewed upstairs they are not allowed to call for dpi or opi?

Correct that call is non reviewable..

Nope, they only confirm a TD and possession, not if there was a penalty. Remember they tried to make PI reviewable and it didn't work out so well. They really should be able to if all scoring plays are reviewed.

I like to look at it this way, you cannot squawk if a call goes against you after the call went for you before hand. Gift TD to begin the 3rd quarter, you cannot forget about that in the 4th Quarter. At least you had a chance to stop the play, the Rams didn't.Yep all the crying and whining is music to my ears, making the win even sweeter. Suffer on you jerkoffs.
I wish we could talk about how it SHOULD be, as opposed to as it is.Nope, they only confirm a TD and possession, not if there was a penalty. Remember they tried to make PI reviewable and it didn't work out so well.
He was they talked about that on radio more then Collinsworth & Michaels reported as the Ram sideline was going crazy over the non call before the call on Logan Wilson holding Kupp.I haven't watched the game but I thought Henderson was held/interfered with right before they called holding against Logan Wilson.
Nope - I got into an argument about that yesterday lol.

You're right about it not being the refs fault. Some of them are shit (Vinobich, Hochuli the elder) but most are just old ass dudes doing a job that puts them in a bad position to execute effectively. The NFL, by choice and repeatedly, had out the customer in a better position to referee a game than the referees they pay. I cannot see how this benefits them within the structure of a fair game, but every year they refuse to adapt and revamp the referee procedures. Every year the video technology for viewers at home gets better and the refs eyesight gets worse, they are more likely to suffer from age related cognitive decline, and physical inability to keep up with the actual plays/players.i personally understand the ref viewpoint. live and even 1st replay from behind i never woulda have thought it was a facemask. you really need the right view and slow mo to see it imo. I think its a similar situation with the 3rd down holding against the cards. On replay you can easily make a case it wasnt a hold but from the refs view point the lb was beat and had his arm around kupp, so gonna look like a hold to them live
I think refs too often get a bad rap for incorrect or missed calls, yet everyone makes these judgements after seeing different angles and slow mo which the refs dont get the luxury of having (reviews aside). Personally i think that was some of the best reffing ive seen and almost perfect in terms of what you'd want from the refs going into any game, so no complaints from me
I get the red didn’t see the face mask. Things happen fast in the NFL. What blows me away is that Higgins actually thought he could get away with such a blatant face mask. I’ve seen blatant grabbing and pushing by a WR to gain advantage but who the F@#% grabs and twists a defenders face mask like that and thinks they can actually get away with it. Well I guess the end justifies the means I guess but that was bold.
I thought there was more of a foul on Higgins than the PI called on the 3rd and 8 Kupp call. Kupp wasn't really restricted from trying to make a play on the ball, the LB was just in better position to his credit. Unfortunately, Torbert's experience as an attorney has reared its ugly head as lawyers are trained to never, ever be wrong or admit fault.
I don't quite understand why the NFL doesn't have the refs in NY hit a button for review on huge game changing plays like that. Its 2022, we have all the camera angles in 4K at the touch of a button. In the biggest game of the year, shouldn't we want a huge missed call recognized? Hell, I'm even fine if that means that the PI on Kupp is reversed, we might not have even needed that score without the terrible no call that resulted in a huge TD.
