I think the SF Playoff game was the end for him when he got dragged 5 yards or more by the receiver and running back on quite a few plays. That one play where Deebo dragged Reeder almost 10 yards for a first down was probably the last straw.

For me the last straw was that missed tackle on Fournette on 4th and 1. Had he he made that tackle, the last second heroics by Sr=tafford and Kupp wouldn't have been necessary....

a 3rd rounder you say?

Good luck Troy. Sadly, I bet he never sees the field when the Rams play the Chargers. Staley is not an idiot.

He was another great UDFA pick up who outplayed his limitations and made some big plays

Bobby Wagner is a major upgrade and so it looks like it worked out well for everyone
He played well beyond a UDFA, always giving it all but had some limitations athletically. I am sure he worked extremely hard to get to the NFL and plays as hard and effectively as his skill set takes him.
Not going to take shots at a player like this when athletically gifted players often don't work half as hard. In an LB room where we had our deficiencies, we now look poised to bring an upgraded core to the 22' season.
Good Luck and thank you, Troy, you will always be a Super Bowl Champ

Agree. There were a number of plays in the NFC Championship Game that showed Reeder's limitations.

Another was one week earlier on the fourth-and-one-play where Fournette went off RT for the game-tying-TD. Reeder read it perfectly and reacted perfectly. Exploded into the backfield and had a clean shot at Fournette. Decent tackle would have ended the game right there. Reeder went low and did not break-down effectively ... could not even slow Fournette down.

Still, he was a good UDFA addition. Good ST-player and reserve-LB but not a plus-starter.

Going enjoy that game against the Chargers this year.

All we have to do is feed the ball Reeders way, coverage on long crossing and hook routes.

Our X starting ILB whose future is probably best suited for ST's.
Team leader in missed tackles (15) , who couldn't cover , shed blocks and had zero instincts.
Oh how the middle of our D has changed for the better.
Good luck Reeder.
I’ll go to my grave praising Reeder for giving 110% and probably overachieving from his abilities. However Reeder is not a starting caliber NFL ILB so it’s a bit unfair to grade him as such. I am glad Reeder got a ring and wish him luck with the Chargers.
