Greetings, Ram Buddies,
[Edit ... I'm sorry guys ... I meant to post this post in the "Introduce Yourself" sub-forum ... Ok, it's here now.]
I just now signed up and have not had time to read through the introductions in this "Introduce Yourself" sub-forum, as I'm in the middle of doing gardening work and I need to keep on working outside before the sun gets too hot.
I want to do a brief introduction of myself.
I've been bleeding blue 'n gold since 1972, when I was 12, which was the last of the Tommy Prothro days and the last of the white/blue uniforms. I fell in love with those horns and the uniforms, but then as I watched the game, I started to love the game itself.
The 1979 collapse of the Rams against the Steelers was an utter heartbreak. Knox was too effing conservative! Even though we were ahead at half-time and my family was congratulating me, I could not smile at all, as I was very nervous about the idea of Knox shrinking down and getting too conservative, which, of course, happened in the last half of the game.
The '99 ride was an utter thrill. I really want to relive this thrill by buying a set of CDs of the entire, magical '99 season, from the opening game all the way to the SB win. Does anyone here in this forum have the ability to burn a set of CDs and send 'em to me?
I'm nearly deaf, so those CDs must have closed-captioning available.
PM me if you can sell me a full set of CDs of the '99 season ... maybe we could do a trade of some of my Rams sportswear for the set of CDs for the '99 season? MUST have closed-captioning.
Ok, I also am starting to put up my Rams sports gear on eBay...
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/151035037168?ss" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.ebay.com/itm/151035037168?ss</a> ... 1555.l2649
... and there's only one bid on it. I spent, like, $45, or more on that, plus about $500 on a whole bunch of other Rams gear in a drunken spree ... and won ALL the bids on eBay years ago. Yikes! I had to pay through my nose for all the gear. I'm concerned that I'd lose money on this thing. But I kept my honor/integrity by going ahead and mailing off all those MOs to guys for the Rams gear. I really liked having that gear around.
All the gear are unused and are in great shape. But my 3 Marshall Faulk jerseys have been worn to death and now the numbers have faded away. I've gotten way too fat, so those Faulk shirts fit over my fat body without revealing every, effing fold of my fat, ya know? So I'm definitely keeping those Faulk jerseys. I got my money's worth from those jerseys alone, as they saved me from the need to go out and buy more shirts to accommodate my fat body. I'm losing a pound a day, though, now, so I'm on the right track.
I really hope that the mods in this forum would not construe my introductory post as a post of commercial solicitation. I will admit that I have motive to post to alert Ram fans to the sales of my Rams gear, but I also miss hanging out with cool Ram fans and will like to come back and see what you guys are saying about our current state of our Rams.
I hate to say that I did not watch the Rams at all last year, other than watching one 'Niner/Ram game (the second one ... I wish that I saw the first one!) at my friend's house with all of them rooting for the 'Niners and teasing the sh*t out of me. Ugh. Back to the bad, old days of our Rams sucking. Jeez. I had to buy them all beer to cover the friendly bets, lol. But it's all good, as they are friends.
GF... you did a number on our Rams, girl! I hope that you are rotting in 'Niner hell in a dungeon full of used, smelly 'Niner uniforms piled up, unwashed, from since you took over ownership of our Rams when good, 'ole Carrol Rosenbloom was offed by somebody ... GF?
Well, my break is over and I gotta get back to gardening before the sun gets too effing hot.
Have a great weekend, Ram bros,
~Mozart
