Barbarian 7.0
horror. A woman staying at an Air bnb discovers that the house that she rented is not what it seems slow burner with a decent payoff. a nice twist or two makes it fun.

Last Night in SOHO 7.7
thriller / horror very entertaining . young woman is able to go back in time in her dreams i figured out the twist just before it was revealed. good special effects helped the horror part of the movie.

The Night House 7.0
thriller with some horror aspects. if you like Rebecca Hall, she was really good in this. woman tries to deal with her husbands death and finds out things about him that she never knew.

Knock At the Cabin.....

I see M. Night movies because a few of his early ones were so good.
It seems he has slipped into some weird place where his writing is just clunky.....forced and clunky....the social narratives he feels like he needs to force into each movie are lame.
His movies are usually big concepts played out with a few characters.....big concepts played out using small, "normal" people.
Its was just ok.....

What I don't get is why did he give a 2.5 - that review sounds like it would get a 1

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

8.5 / 10

I was really looking forward to this movie

and then...........

the Rottentomatoes scores started coming out , so my expectaions kept getting lower and lower , to the point where I was expecting to be disappointed by another Marvel movie which has been the trend lately

so , I'm happy to say I absolutely enjoyed this film , from start to finish , I'll easliy put it in the top half of all Marvel films , probably even in the top half of the top half

I was surprised how big of a roll Michelle Pfeiffer had , half the movie is her's , she has about as much screen time as Paul Rudd

Jonathan Majors as Kang was great , can't wait to see more of him

MODOK , they changed him a little , and yes his design / CGI could have been better , but he was still alot of fun , and actually one of my favorite parts

Ant-Man is the first movie in Phase 5 , but for me , it already tops all of Phase 4 movies , other then Spider-man

Yeah every reviewer said Wakanda was the best movie in Phase 4 and I disagree

It was a good movie but not one that I would watch over and over

Actually there really isn't a Phase 4 movie that I would watch over and over

Maybe this movie will be one

Re-member 2023 6.8/10

japanese horror thriller with a groundhog day scenario . not a great movie overall, however, that being said, the "deaths" were somewhat original and humorous. some tense moments, some pointless teen romance schlop and some outrageous fight / death scenes.
basically this movie is a thumbs up when it takes you 30+ minutes to not decide what to watch on netflix, etc. you won't be wasting your time but you won't gain any lifelong insight from it either. there's another concrete water well in this one. what do the japanese have against concrete water wells anyway?

Did not like this movie as much as others 4 out of 10

Kang was the best part of the movie. Great job by Majors.

The story was rough, choppy and rather pathetic when the pieces were drawn out over a long period about context to history.

The ending was well below average and bordered on LAME.

Michelle Pfeiffer is an ageless beauty, 64 yrs old (never thought she was pretty 30 years ago, well she looks amazing now. If not sure reference Madonna).

I grew up reading Comics from the mid 70’s on. Have upward of 6500 comics bagged up in storage. I get stories are modified for the movies. True critics can see all the flaws of this movie. Rudd, Pfeiffer, and Majors stand out. MODAK was a joke and an embarrassment no matter how you try to spin it. The other actor performances are nothing to note. Bland is the best critique.

Felt like an opportunity to steal money from the public without any regrets.

We’ve watched Thor Love and Thunder a few times now. My son and I liked it better the second and third time. Parts of it are pretty funny.

In the Mouth of Madness 1994 7.5 / 10

Sam Jurassic Neil Julie Carmen Jurgen Prochnow

An insurance investigator begins discovering that the impact a horror writer's books have on his fans is more than inspirational. if you like the reality / non reality type movies then this is yours to enjoy! lots of good character actors throughout . the ending really could have gone many different ways, too bad this wasnt like Clue with multiple endings.

I watch Shang Chi a few times, and also Eternals. I didn't like that at first but after my 2nd watch it improved pretty well.

I can't wait for Phase 5 to get kicking. Looks like the 10 rings, Ms. Marvels bangle, Dr. Strange and Cleas incursion adventure, Kang/He Who Remains and Loki is...wait for it....all connected.

It's really a good post-Thanos era scheme. What stakes are higher than wiping out half the universe? Try Celestials popping entire sentient worlds like pimples and fuck it, entire parallel universes being destroyed.

Mainstream can hate all they want because Robert is no longer Iron Man.

Well... okay

Why?
There's a few scenes within the movie that were pretty cool, and this movie seemed to "try" and be a good movie. Compared to some movies where you can tell they could care less if it's good. Overall though, it was boring.

Man I love watching foreign films from everywhere. I think it's partly a result of me having only 3 American TV stations and 2 Japanese TV stations growing up in the 808. I liked the Japanese stations because even the children's shows were crazy violent, and at night they would sometimes have some skin revealing programming. I learned to deal with CC and not mind it at all. So today, I don't consider it a burden at all to have to read the CC... the rest of my Fam doesn't agree with that nearly as much as I do though... my wife actually hates it.

I watched a good horror just last night from India called Pali or something close to that. I would give that one a 7.5 - 8 ranking. It was over 2 hours long and I did NOT fall asleep... that's really saying something too considering I started watching it after 10 pm.

Pari? I'm not into the horror genre as a whole but I know foreign horrors take it to another level

Check Delhi 6 if you have a chance. I had it on for background noise making dinner but ended up glued to it.
