What a wonderful turn of events for Rams fans. Rather than searching for a beacon of light in an otherwise abysmal season - we are now searching for areas of improvement that will help to build the perfect beast.

With that said - what is wrong with the Rams TEs? They were non-existent in the offensive attack on Monday night. Not a single target or key block registered in the game. It was really evident in the red zone. An area where the Rams need improvement and no TEs contributions to be found.

Did anyone determine if the scheme kept them out of the mix or are that just that ineffective?

Seems like we might not need TE’s from now on. Really though I was wondering that myself. See what happens next game, possibly McVay doesn’t want to show too much and kept TE’s dormant for whatever reason.

The TEs blocked well on Monday Night.
Still contributing.
Having that threat of a pass catch TE would be nice, but, given the option of getting the ball to Cooks, Woods, Kupp or Gurley or any of our current TEs, well......lets hope the TEs keep up the blocking.

They had one a step open in the end zone, but Goff tried to beat triple coverage. Y'all remember that play?

Either that or they'll get targets next game since Goff never looked their way at Oakland and covering them may be an afterthought.

I guess I am concerned with our red zone effectiveness and am hoping we get some help from our TEs.

For all we know McVay is working on a plan to make using the TE a major wrinkle and a late surprise that gets unveiled for playoffs and carries us to a chip...?

They were using a lot of max protect, IIRC.

Is Everett 100%? I think we know what we have in Higbee. Everett is still a mystery as to what we have as a TE.

.

Higbee should be blocking every play. Let Everett pass catch once he's healthy.

Staying in to block. You know there will be games where they are big parts of the offensive gamplan coming soon.

You joke but honestly that isn't too bad an idea for them to do once they get a lead and want to mash it late in games.

Iirc we played in max protect most of the game. Assuming to protect Goff as everyone worked off the rust .

Rams made two big bids for TE this offseason, and got outbid both times.
(Eifert and Burton).

Then, they made their FA moves ( Suh, etc) and didn’t have any money left to try for another TE.

So, Rams reluctantly stayed pat at TE.

TE will inevitably get involved in the 2018 offense, but I see a TE shakeup next season.

I actually think Higs is a solid TE his blocking has improved immensely and while he has dropped some tough catches like FLV said he is our best TE . im worried about Everett ..just hasn't seemed to take that next step

They were used on Monday night to protect Goff, the dude had a nice time in the pocket because of it... I'm sure I saw him ordering a pizza on one play...

TE's will come into play offensively when McVay sees fit to throw them in (I trust his judgement) We have the luxury of having Cooks, Woods, Kupp AND Gurley to throw to. What we need to do is improve that Red Zone production area, it was a bit of a problem last year too...
