No Archer?

Ban yourself for 10 minutes.
Of course also Archer, but the new season hasn't started yet, so it's not as top-of-mind. But I did reference another H Jon Benjamin show, so it should have reminded me of Archer... and Home Movies, but that's another story.

What the hell ARE you even talking about?
Toons, bro. Toons. The signing of Nick Toon broke all my adult reasoning skills so I'm talking about great cartoons. Because his name sounds like cartoon minus the car.

And.........

still no answers on Quick.

With Rams beat guys who don't have the balls or care to press this FO as to the why.

Toon won't be some magic savior for this O.

And if he does get into a game.

And does better than our current WRs.

Ouch. :palm:

I still can't figure out why this would be the type of thing he'd lie about. I get some lies like trying to gain a competitive advantage or trying to protect a player but this accomplishes neither. If anything, it's unfair to Quick because people are now wondering if he's done, in the dog house, etc. The local media needs to press Fisher on this situation, IMO.

Maybe he's not lying. Maybe it's something entirely different....like some off field issue that's under investigation and he simply isn't at liberty to speak about.

I hope that's far-fetched, but who knows.

Or he's just full of shit. Which seems to be his M.O. and reason "#whatever" of why I'm weary of how this organization is run.

You don't even need to "tell the full truth" to tell us what the fuck is going on. He's either ready to play mentally and physically......or he isn't.

Or he's in legal trouble......but not at liberty to discuss.

Tired of Fisher's trash coach speak. One of the more irritating information coaches in the league.....

The cloud of mystery is all this....it means one thing to me. We've seen the last of Quick or someone is getting cut with an intent to show the rest of the team that this is serious fuckin business. OK so thats two things.

I'm incredibly curious as to what the roster shift will be! I kind of get the feeling this is similar to the Austin Pettis mid-season cut.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's Pead. With Cunningham back where he belongs returning, Watts on his way back and Reynolds healing, compounded on Gurley's emergence I just don't see a place for him.

Especially poignant because he's one of the many that was sitting about yukking it up on the sideline while their errors continued to hurt the team. So it would bring the message that the fun and games stop and we need to get serious about winning. A few years too late, but better late than never huh?

So cut Pead this week and when Watts comes back, cut Toon?

Seems like a waste of time to me, kind of like how I spend my Sunday afternoons:confused:

Probably not, no point in signing the guy just to cut him. I'm not 100% certain, but my bet would be on making Givens a healthy scratch. His abilities just don't help us consistently enough. His speed is great, but Foles has no time to stand around and wait to throw that ball, and his deep ball is already suspect as is and while he looked nice on the jet sweep, Austin's probably going to get that look 9 times out of 10.

But they've said he's perfectly fine physically. If Quick is done with football, it's for other reasons.....unless Fisher lied about Quick being healthy and I don't know why he would lie about that sort of thing.

I said earlier that I don't see how it's injury related...i think there is a kind of hefty price to pay if Fisher doesn't list him on the injury report if he's indeed got a physical problem...Is that not true ?? I'm really not sure either way...

I suppose it's possible Kendricks or Cook might be in the firing line after this week... Cook is like a big receiver more than a traditional tight end, and Toon can at the very least work as a run-blocking WR.

I know Cook deserves to be after his lackadaisical play this week.

I have had the feeling for the last month or so that Brian Quick has regressed in his understanding of the playbook and wondered if his lack of time has more to do with him making mistakes in where to line up, shift, and site adjustments than being a physical issue. I think the changes to the playbook have caused him some issues. This was solidified for me in an illegal formation penalty the team received when he lined up in the wrong spot in preseason. Unfortunately, I think they cut him and move on.

After the numbers he was starting to put up last year?? I find that hard to believe. Gotta imagine the only way he's cut is if his shoulder is actually much much worse than they thought/think.

This staff was IN LOVE with Quick, and he finally started to show up big last year. I just can't see them cutting him unless there is something weird going on we don't know about like legal issues or something.

If this comes across as snippy, I'm sorry that's not my intent, but did you read my post fully?

Like I said, the guy just couldn't stay healthy. Like Amendola to us, his skills to the Saints didn't warrant them paying him to sit on their bench and look pretty while others were stepping up around him.

But as we've seen with Amendola, sometimes a change of scenery and strength and conditioning is all the help in the world. Now he's suddenly not as injury prone and an accident walking to happen now that he's in New England. I have hopes that maybe our change of pace can help Toon realize some of his potential.

I know one thing, I'm rooting for the guy as the newest Ram.

Well, Ammendola doesn't get half the attention he got from defense while in STL, either. That would be Eddleman.

Toon signing confuses me. Why can't Bailey or givens step up?

WAIT!!!! Why does everyone assume Quick? Crazy Theory:

How about now that we sign Nick Toon, we cut Bradley Marquez. Then we have kind of a WR Corps, with Quick, Tavon, Bailey, Givens, and Toon.

Cut somebody who just showed himself to be a valuable special teamer and might help us replace guys who we can't trust in Pead? You don't try to fix one facet by making a hole in another. No thanks, for me it's either Pead, Givens or Reynolds.

Almost all of Danny's injuries were non-contact.

Givens only has a particular set of skills that doesn't' fit into the needs of the team right now, Bailey needs to get more snaps, but he also needs to be more consistent. We've got a huge question mark of a WR Corp, there isn't any shame in bringing in others to compete.

Have you ever seen Fisher talk about Marquez? He basically creams his pants every time he's brought up.
