That's if Bruss can cut it, he didn't offer much encouragement in PS last year. Avila at least gives us another bite at that apple. And if Bruss works out, great. If not, I think Shelton has proven he can man the spot quite well.

100% true...Shelton does a good job at Center too imo

Im just excited because there's no way a starting oline consisting Avila and Bruss is worse than one that had Bobby Evans and Jeremiah Kolone playing at some points last year.

I slept for 5 hours last night, so that's better! I did use your idea....
That's awesome man, keep experimenting with it if it feels helpful. Sometimes you hit on something you didn't even realize was an issue and bam... zzzzzz.

Great player and love the person. Really pleased with this pick.
Looks like an excellent pick. Suggests to me the Rams recognize they need to rebuild the foundations, not just add skill players (though maybe the ones they wanted weren't there at 36.)

Also strongly suggests to me that the Rams are in fact going in a different direction on their oline. They need more strength and physicality if they want to hang in there against teams like the Niners or Philly. Avila has it, and hopefully has the technical ability to match.

But it might be a bit unfair to play him at center. Isn't there a rule against 330 pound centers?

There’s a reason TCU was a good team last year.
It would be odd if not one player was a solid pro.
No glowing accolades for the QB?
A WR whose only issue is hands?
A solid RB who ran behind a good OL?
Hmmm. I like the chances Avila can be a day 1 starter and an instant upgrade to the OL.

I think Avila is plug and play at Left Guard. This will help both Allen and Noteboom.

Avila is also very smart & could transition to Center next year. He excels in pass protection & the Rams needed that.

I'm pretty sure they didn't expose Bruss on the practice squad.

I think Bruss will benefit from a year’s worth of NFL conditioning. Hopefully his injury didn’t impact that too much.

If Bruss lives up to billing, partnered with Avila, the Rams oline has a different vibe.

Bruss wasn’t ready last year. Hopefully he will be this year. If another O lineman is there when we pick next (Zavala) - wouldn’t be the worst thing.

Someone connected to the Rams said that Avila was the top player on their board in round 2. So they got their guy.
I believe the Rams rated Avila higher because of his versatility. He played every position along the OL besides LT, plus excelled at Center too, where I see him come 2024.

I am really hoping Bruss can contribute this year, I was never in love with his film due to a lack of nastiness he just didn't finish at times.
Avilla is nasty, maybe the 2 can team up and push each other this year. I see them both at guard year one and maybe Avilla slides to center 2024
