I was all over this pick and so consistent. Consistently Wrong!

We all know, there was another tackle that went later than he should because of his smaller size.

D’Marco Far

I bet most thought I was going to say AD.

Let the kid grow. He reminds me of Larry Brooks. With Hoecht coming around as he has that gives the D'Line more punch and teams won't just worry about AD...they gotta worry PERIOD.

I wouldn't compare Turner to AD at all because that's doing AD a disservice. I'd cautiously compare him to Geno Atkins as a ceiling he might achieve. He isn't in that realm yet but I could see him being that kind of impact player if he keeps improving/building strength over the next several seasons.
Chris Jones? Fletcher Cox? Turner is more in that mold. I’m not saying he’s reached that comp but considering he started at Richmond, doesn’t he have the potential to go higher with better coaching?

how funny things turn out, remember reading so much about how the Rams reached with that pick. Now it looks like it could be another homerun.

Is that what the media was claiming? Turner was good in college. If he was a first round pick, maybe it would be a reach, but a mid to late third round pick seems reasonable.

I mean sure, I don't consider either of those guys better than Atkins though so not sure what your saying. Maybe same level. Was thinking more comparable size wise and draft position wise for Atkins.

Much closer in profile to Atkins.

Even better comp to me… Grady Jarrett.

some, they claimed that Turner was a grade -C or worse. Some others did give the pick high grades like CBS and PFN. All I know is watching his highlights you know he was a beast. I know some had doubt about his size but just like AD he's proving people wrong.

If Turner turns into Geno Atkins, I'll eat a tongue sandwich. That's a pretty high ceiling.

Turner is at least as impactful as Gaines was for us. Both in the run and pass. Tackles, sacks and TFL are on pace to break Gaines best year with us (2021).

Meanwhile, Brown looks like he is doing a good job filling the Ashwan shoes. Maybe not quite there yet but stout vs the run.

Solid interior with those two. The Beat goes on.

Absolutely. Shout out to Williams as well, he's been the primary 5T. Nothing flashy but has been solid in both pass and run defense.

I've seen that description on Kobie about heavy hands. Not sure what that means. Maybe he's strong for his size? Whatever the case it looks like we got ourselves a keeper for the next 4 years. With Byron Young on the outside we have a nice inside out duo. And they should only get better with a full season under their belts. Young should be a steady double digit sack guy.

You know heavy hands when you see them.

Rams still need another DT next year. Hopefully with some size.

Yeah, like I said I would cautiously compare him to Atkins. I wouldn't say he hits that level until I see it but they are freakishly close to each other as far as measurables coming out of college.

Wasn't Geno Atkins a 3-4 DE? Not a good comparison IMO.

Turner must be having fun playing, Donald is eating up all those blocks leaving him one on one. Also having Donald take him under his wing and work with him on getting off blocks and technique.

No, the Bengals played mostly a 4-3, with Atkins on the interior of their D-Line.

He was short and a little under-sized but had excellent quickness and explosiveness; and was also strong, with excellent leverage to get under bigger O-Linemen.
