Before the season started I really thought the Rams secondary was going to be really, really good and actually be one of the Rams STRENGTHS this season but right now I am thinking I was giving them way too much credit! Am I wrong and they just had a really BAD 1st Half and Last Drive or do the Rams need to make some changes/adjustments pretty soon? Of course, I am guessing it might help if the Rams Defensive Line (Other than Aaron Donald!) could/
would provide more of a Pass Rush!!!

I don’t think they expected Josh Allen to be that good. He plays like a young Donovan Mitchell, but maybe bigger, stronger, and a better athlete.

Well they mostly shut down a Dallas offense that has been firing on all cylinders since and blanketed the eagles as well. I think that we saw yesterday was a combination of the bills having REALLY good receivers, the pass rush struggling, and Allen being a really weird qb/hard to figure out. I think the Rams defense was looking for him to run on a good amount of his completions too. Secondary will be fine.

The pass rush is where we are frightening bad, IMO. Terrell Lewis and Jachai Polite should see more snaps over Ebukam. If you're an edge that can't get pressure, set the edge, or tackle consistently then I don't know why you have a starting job.

Reminds me of Jeff George. Huge arm and looks great when he has all day and wide open WR’s. But he will always be erratic and lack the accuracy to be an elite QB. He’s not gonna play the Giants, Jets and Troy Hill every week.

He’s also headed the path of Carson Wentz running into traffic thinking he’s unbreakable. That never ends well.

If I was McVay I would have an early meeting with Staley, Pleasant & Evero this morning to get some serious answers to a ton of hard questions.

One serious disorganized game for the Rams secondary. Is our rookie safety Fuller who was injured early really that good that this Ram DB could not play without him

JJ III & Hill turned in a very disappointing collection of snaps. By far one of the worse games I have seen come from John Johnson. CB Darious Williams's injury has robbed him of his previous abilities to cover or tackle. Rapp's inability to coverage was showcased to the max. I could add that 2n yr CB David Long coverage was also MIA Sunday.

Seems to me that the secondary suffered when Jordan Fuller went down. Hopefully, he's not out long.

Methinks the Rams have an issue a nickel CB. Troy Hill is not only allowing too many receptions, but he's also missing too many tackles.

I'd say that the second week of travel to the East gave Buffalo a big advantage. This team was sluggish in the first half.

I don't like what I'm seeing from the defense as a whole. It doesn't remind me of a Fangio defense. The coverage is too soft and Staley doesn't turn up the heat until the second half. DBs cannot cover eternally. Allen had too much time to throw. I don't understand what the plan is at this point, but it doesn't look good.

Agreed! Hopefully, The Rams Defense CAN & WILL turn up their intensity a little earlier in future games!!!

Think about how the secondary, the rest of the defense and Goff performed in the first half. Probably other members of the offense too. McVay made some dumb mistakes too (long FG, pitch out to Henderson on 2nd and long that led to a FG).

Now look at how they performed in the second half. The Bills first TD of the second half came off of a short field and one long play to Singletary. The last drive for the Bills was rough, yes - but on the 3rd and 22, Allen had WAY too long to pass. I put that on Staley as well as the secondary bc IIRC we only rushed three on that play.

Anyways, they played much better in the second half and this was always going to be a tough game.

I'll never understand why teams rush 3 or so on 3rd and long and give QBs all day to pick a part zone.. BRING THE BLITZ.

I didn't see the game, that's what sucks about being a Farmer, I miss the first 1/3 or half of the season but, what I'm guessing is this:

Troy Hill is who Troy Hill is, he's a solid 4th or 5th CB and can fill in in spot starts. He's never going to shut anyone down, he'll give up 9 plays and make 1 play to make you forget.

Taylor Rapp is who Taylor Rapp is, a solid box safety who can thump you but with limited athletic abilities, he's a huge liability in coverage with speedier tight ends and receivers.

As we saw last year, SJD, and Brockers are solid against the run but sure as hell can't rush the passer or get even a hint of pressure consistently even when Donald is quadruple teamed. I'm hoping Ashawn Robinson can come back and be a spark.

Our ILBs are a liability in coverage, Kiser is a thumper who goes side to side well but won't flow with a TE well. And on the other ILB spot? It's just a body.

At OLB, we know what we have in Ebukam.. had one big game against KC a few years ago and has been incredibly below average since, sure he's going to make a stop here and there but overall a huge liability.

With the Rams ILB and edge, it seems like they did what they did last year with the OL.. have some young unproven talent and we're going to gamble on it and see what happens and both times has bit then in the ass.

And as far as DBs go, they thought they really had something with Hill/Williams/Rapp/Long but so far haven't been that.

It was one game......................................................................

We went across country for a 10am game the second week in a row. Against a good young team with a good young QB and an all world WR.

It was one game............................

It was 35 points. that's a lot of scoring on a defense that has no pass rush. I don't know if there is a fix for that this year.

We also played two really lethal passing attacks in the first three weeks, and we should be 3-0.

We have the Cardinals twice, Niners twice, Seahawks twice, Patriots, Giants, Jets, Dolphins, Bears, Bucs and Football Team.

The Patriots, Giants, Jets, Dolphins, Bears and Football Team have offenses we should be able to shut down.

McVay OWNS the Cardinals and Seahawks, and the Niners offense we've done pretty well against too. That leaves 43 year old Tom Brady.

Regardless of how well Wilson is playing, I'm just not scared of him. Donald and Mcvay own them. This was the toughest offense we had left on our schedule IMO (and toughest defense too).

call me crazy, but secondary really missed Fuller...as for Allen...he is who we thought he is...especially after that four yard dirtball at the goal line....I'm over the PI call too...I'm not a Saint's fan...

Seattle is on fire on offense though

two weeks in a row traveling across country looked like it really affected us in the first half. also samson must be replaced he missed so many tackles when he was not blocked. hendo had huge holes to run threw (great job ol )but could not get past secondary tackles. AD can't be the only pass rusher we have he needs help (anyone miss mathews ). our secondary has showed us that 1 great player can be game planed around. anyway time to get back on wining track.

I saw a young Roethlisbergber.

I know everyone's really high on Allen right now but I saw Wentz 2.0. I wasn't particularly impressed. We should have beat this team (and by a lot). Allen took some god awful sacks trying to go off-schedule. Fumbled. Threw a horrible floater on first down with the lead. Held onto the ball way too long.

There were definitely a lot of broken coverages by the Rams that game that they exploited. Allen also was pretty efficient in the redzone. But overall, the quality of play by the Rams on offense was just so much better. Even in the first half.

I would like to see more of Gaines on passing downs, he had some penetration yesterday in his limited play time. Robinson would be a huge boon to the defense though if he can come back and play at the level we expect.

Ebukam I am done with. Was hoping we'd upgrade in the offseason but it didn't happen unless Lewis can come back from injury and be a good rookie player. Hollins at least showed up at times yesterday so maybe he's a replacement there. It's obvious the Rams coaches think the same as Ebukam's snap count has slowly disappeared every week. The last two weeks he has done nothing.
