I am actually shocked that anyone that understands football could watch this team and not understand that the OL Injuries are what have killed this season. To the point that it isn't even relevant to talk about anything else. The OL Injuries are >90% of what is going on. I have never, in 45 years of watching football, seen this level of injuries strike a team's offensive line in a 10 game stretch, hell in a full season for that matter. It is unbelievable. I know we have had 10 different OL Combos in 10 Games (Which in itself is unbelievable), but have we even had a game where all 5 on the OL finished the game?

Can’t just salt away the season based on oline injury. It’s on the damn team org to explain this shit. Let’s face it, we saw the oline not execute when Whit was out and we knew the dude way out kicked his coverage in length of his career. The personnel decisions have been deplorable regarding the oline. Noteboom and Allen? Always injured. Evans? Dude is on the team 4 years and they don’t realize he can’t play?
Oline has been a red flag for years, so they changed oline coach. Result is same. No Whit, no oline.
That’s on Snead and McVay.
Offense scheme is terrible, and McVay has always been stubborn with running his o no matter what.
The defense? I can’t make any more excuses for it, but at the end of the day it falls on the HC
Alas, with all that said there is still no head coach I’d rather have.

First off I never said you did. Secondly the premise is If Staley can get an HC job why can’t Morris? You said because of this shitty season teams will look passed him? But will they? For all you know they might hire him for the way his players standup for him, or perhaps his character I don’t know, but what I do know that all this shitting on him has got so old that he deserves better and I hope he takes his services elsewhere…

Lol..
Um.. I'm not the guy who shits on Morris. And I'm not saying he doesn't *deserve* an HC gig. I'm just telling you that most teams hiring a new HC want to be able to sell it as a positive move.. and bringing in someone coming off a season like the Rams are having ain't easy to sell.

Sorry.. the shit that some of us may or may not have liked? Well.. they won the Super Bowl.. and that's the goal.

And.. yeah.. when THAT MANY injuries hit your oline... it's a good reason to have a shitty year and it exposes all the problems in margin areas.

Want the flip side? Look at teams who do everything "right".. but never get a Super Bowl.

Margins for victory are slim.. and the Rams had everything break right last year.

Sometimes things go the other way.

Not gonna blame it on OL injuries because I don't think this is a good OL when healthy. Could they have won a couple more games healthy? Probably but they aren't a playoff team with this group healthy or not.

Well standing in the end zone waiting for the receiver to make his move will make you look like shit
nah bro.... that was Ramsey being bad Ramsey,

3rd and 9 he is in man coverage and has his eyes in the backfield - lets a dude younger than him go sailing right by him for a TD.

It's been a long time since he had a bad game like this... but it happened.

Again I never said “Kupped” you are the person or even one who shit on Morris, I was saying in general, because I have seen a lot of it on this board, in matter of fact I agreed with you on a lot of prior threads regarding the defense earlier on in the season. My thing out of all this is I hope Morris goes and we get a different DC so we can see how much better we are.

In light of all of the injuries, I’ve just got one complaint.

Why have a backup QB if you don’t have him prepared to run the offense?

Maybe it’s time to draft a round 3 backup and get rid of the two they have.

someone who has a good memory might be able to answer this. has there been a change in the training staff? cause i remember that in mcvays first or second year our ol went most of the year without an injury. just looking at what might have caused so many injurys.

Can't really put this one on the offense. We ran the ball well.... made plays down the field before Stafford got hurt. I'm not sure why Henderson only got 1 drive. It's getting frustrating because we haven't ran the ball well this year, and the guy who has consistently ran the hardest for us...and didn't abandon the team...simply only has 1 drive where he gets touches...

but those big plays we gave up on defense today cost us. Soft coverage gave them a chance to take control of the game this time.

Williams looks good and Cam had a good game. I like how we ran the ball today in terms of our overall scheme.

the coach is the problem

Got married, got paid and then got soft. I never expected this. I thought we'd be better this year.

I know how to solve the O line injury problem! Just have Evans teach the other O linemen how to stay out of the way
of the defense.
Problem solved! ;)

I’d like to trade a 62 yard TD reception for a reliable center.

Shit OL and shit secondary. You're just not going to win with that combination.

McVay deserves a ton of criticism and I'm sure he's harder on himself than we are. Many of his staff deserve criticism too, there is plenty to go around. But honestly at this point I am no longer even upset.

My plan was to rewatch the playoff games each week to cover this weekend and the next three but I couldn't help myself had to watch the game. This team is definitely done though, for this season for sure. We're gonna get face fucked by KC. Shit's gonna be ugly.

Inability to run the ball. Banged up OL or not, you have be more effective running the ball. They have been historically bad. The run schemes need to be fixed for next yr. This is on McVay & Carberry.
My biggest frustration has been that we knew the run game had to be better but the moves to finish the OL this past offseason were subpar as fuck. Even had we suffered zero injuries we had pain in store. That OL was not good enough.

McVay hates drafting OL plain and simple. IMO he wants toys. The unsexy big guys and winning up front are not his priority and never have been. But this season has exposed our starting talent and depth badly. Like it or not depth has one job and that's to fucking play when the starters go down. It's been dominos though. None of these guys were able to hold up. Far as I'm concerned they have to be real smart about which of them they bring back. We need a huge OL investment this offseason and if McVay is not willing to do that then he should bail out because it will be more of the same next year. So it's that or he leaves and we start the rebuild with a new regime which would suck even more.

You cannot have passing game toys alone on offense.

Would really like Raheem to get another gig elsewhere its for the best and I am wishing him well, he did what he had to win us a SB even if it was bought out. This team has lost its identity whether its staff leaving or older players getting older I don’t know, but we definitely don’t have the heart to compete. Its time to start jettisoning our what we call our best players and start fresh. No guarantee we will have the same Donald or Ramsey next season, it sucks but shit changes drastically in a season. We keep McVay, Raheem goes on his way to become an HC lets see if its really McVay or the personnel that has surrounded him all these years…
Raheem needs better pieces in the secondary. But as it pertains to him being the DC it is also a philosophical question. Whether we keep Raheem or not investment must be made there on top of what they have to do with the OL.

And it also ties in with the bigger question of can this roster be fixed in one offseason. I'm not so sure even McVay can pull that off.
