As was mentioned before, he was most likely given a 3 year deal with club options on the last two, giving the Rams an easy way out. He would be given a decent size bonus and small salary for the fist year. The bonus would be stretched over the 3 years.
Yeah that makes the most sense, considering we have draft picks to sign, etc.

Guys don't flip out on me I love this dude he single handedly helped turn this franchise around he deserves most of the credit to me......that being said we didn't have many choices here 10 mill is to much and you could see his decline last year. He had a lot of flags and was beaten by speed inside or outside quite often mostly outside. We didn't have much of a choice so we have to kind of accept it.
Loyalty great family guy a total great individual person as a human being but that doesn't translate to winning on the field. Mentoring will help but I think he will also need help and I hope these young kids can provide it unless the rams pull a rabbit out of a hat and bring in a vet a solid one at guard. I would love Cordy Glenn can play guard or tackle and could help transition alot of these linemen. I know he isn't great but he still young enough to pick up some tricks from big whit (that's where his true value lyes) and can step in and move around the line when injuries occur. He would be the perfect lineman to sign right now.
Glenn cant play guard or tackle that’s why he gets cut and traded. He’s bad.

Nobody besid s AJ green can play in Cindy lol......and he isn't bad he certainly better than Blythe or Allen lol

Aw, yeah! Whit's back!

I'm happy with this signing. I don't care about the money or term; Whitworth's more than worth it, especially given that the other left tackles in this free agency class are lacking.

Some people might be surprised by the term. I honestly noticed very little decline in his level of play last year, but rather observed his issues being playing next to a variety of inexperienced LGs. Rather than a Pro Bowl veteran in Saffold. Not to mention the importance of continuity on the o-line. I think Big Whit can play at a high level for at least two more seasons. We will see about year 3 of this deal. He might well retire before then. Hopefully, the money is fair. But note decent LTs do not come cheap.

I would have gone 2 years not the 3.

The alternative to bringing Whit back was.......[fill in the blank]

—Super Bowl ??
Roger Saffold for 3 more years & Noteboom being the starting LT 2020.

Yeah - the cap does not work, but That was the original plan. Noteboom may never be the same. Could maybe never play again from the way he said he was not even walking 3 months ago ?? Just seems weird.

This goes back to my bet of The Rams not drafting a OLman 2020. The Rams are already young enough.

I love the Whit signing. Guy didn’t come down much last year. I look forward to seeing what we can do as far as a trade and get more picks to pick up solid LT.

I don't exactly like this signing but I understand it. Rams might need to earmark that pick at 52 for OT as well, seeing as how we don't have a first round pick next year either.

Good thing is this draft is loaded at OT at the top. Bad thing is they'll still go off the board fast. I've been thinking our target might well be Bartch, but the way those big guys get reached for who knows.

I don't think we go O line in Rd 2. I see it as being a D heavy draft. But, if we were to go OT, Ezra Cleveland might be there at 52
