  • WR Puka Nacua: 77.3

defense

  • NT Poona Ford: 89.5
  • DE Braden Fiske: 85.0
  • OLB Byron Young: 84.5
  • CB Josh Wallace: 75.1
  • S Jaylen McCollough: 72.8

  • LB Nate Landman: 57.0
  • OLB Jared Verse: 55.1
  • CB Cobie Durant: 46.4
  • DL Tyler Davis: 45.7
  • CB Emmanuel Forbes Jr.: 33.5
  • DL Ty Hamilton: 29.1

Poona only played 19 snaps but when he was out they moved the ball on the ground much easier. Forbes yikes. This is probably a one off for Matthew.

Warren McClendon has had a really nice year at RT. He should still be reasonably cheap to retain if the Rams want to extend him early, despite earning himself a nice raise, so we might well be seeing the end of Havenstein's tenure as Ram. What a great Ram he has been too. Just quietly played at a well above average level, year after year after year.

Poona Ford's great grade, combined with the poor marks for Tyler Davis and Ty Hamilton, match the eye test. When Ford is in, teams cannot run on the Rams. When he is out, we revert back to the Rams DEF of the past few seasons - very vulnerable on the ground to physical running games. We need a counter-punch. We cannot be that reliant on 1 player to stop the run. Particularly now that he's gimpy. I was really hoping to see more from the backups last week with Ford dinged up.

Honestly, it bummed me out in a similar way the Philly game did last year. I LOVE Turner and Fiske, but when those were our DT's, the line moved in the wrong direction and we got gashed. Credit to their OC for seeing it and calling runs on 3rd and under 4-5 yards.....it was there.

Yeah, I eould like to see them draft a 325 lb NT this year. There are a few guys that will be available.

Ya knew Forbes would grade low. He'll get some attention this week! Both plays he gave up scores on was because he let the WRs get behind him. A pick is nice but there are times you don't gamble. Both times seemed he gambled and lost in situations where THE FIRST RULE IS TO NOT LET THE RECIEVER BEHIND YOU!!! Stay on top where you at least have a shot to make the tackle!!! Makes you wonder if the Panther saw that tendency in him.

I don’t know the answer? The defense looked suspect against Carolina & there’s different parts at times.
The NFL will always push the envelope finding out cracks & chips to the armor.I was thinking before & or during the game one of those Rams Big DT’s on the practice squad needs to be penciled in against a good running team.
Then again didn’t see MURCH must & I’m not a Big Fan of #10 Stewart playing SO much moving around. It just allows The Run.
Omar Speight isn’t my favorite either.I actually liked Reeder & Dolac mixing in together when he was out.He just doesn’t come up & clean out holes
The player I don’t like on The Rams roster at ALL & God knows if Young doesn’t stay 85% & Verse gets banged up again. Nick Hampton NOT a answer on D at ALL
IMO !!
I do not understand what Mcvay really likes about him ? If you look at last season we saw T. Davis at times rush from a DE spot.I like more power on the edges at times.
FISKE isntthe same player as last season either. His EFFORT is there ,his speed & power isn’t.His knee isn’t 100–% right compared to before.
That’s my rant. I’m just seeing different sets & line up I don’t like.It showed up as well.Nick Hampton got held on one play, but he is SO slow off the ball & doesn’t really do anything off the Edge & maybe can hold it a bit.Just don’t think The Rams win a Superbowl with him on the roster.
He reminds me of keeping that Draft pick Smart(DT).If you cut him,no team is going to sign him on a NFL roster IMO.

McVay seemed to fight the idea of a power nose tackle for a long time. But maybe now that he's seen what Ford does for this defense he'll be willing to deepen the depth chart behind him.

Stafford just cant take that sack on 3rd down....go immediately to your check down or throw it away and kick the FG to tie.

when he got sacked by the db there was player (the one the db left for the delayed sack) wide open. i wondered why stafford didn't just lob it over the approaching db to that guy? unless there was another defender lurking. couldn't see it on the replay.

Hard to tell, I agree.
There are games.....generally outside and or in weather....where is accuracy is not as good and he seems to not see the field as well as he normally does.
This happens to every QB every year of course. He is so aggressive with his style of play that it leads to turnovers at times.
Thats the trade off with an uber arm talent QB it seems.

I will have to look at the all 22 on that play when I get home tonight.

McClendon and Avila are continuing to play very well.
Speaks well to the future of the OL.
McVay had two backs averaging over 6 ypc.....and stopped running the ball.
20 carries all game.

That was a great play design. The DT went all the way around the LT to make the sack. Avila and Jackson weren’t expecting to switch and I’m sure Stafford didn’t see it coming.

I would go a step further and say that because Ford played so few snaps, it exposed Landman to blocks/blockers he doesn’t regularly have to fight—hence his bad game.

Reminds me of that 2017 playoff game against Atlanta. When Michael Brockers got hurt and left the game, Atlanta took control and just pounded the rock and dominated time of possession. We just couldn't get the ball back on offense. Thats why I want another 325 lb guy to make this front impossible to block. Let Fiske be the pass rush specialist at DT, and add another first down space eater.

Forbes score feels like the kind of mark they would give you at school just for turning up and spelling your own name correctly.

What the fuck did Hamilton do to get 29.1? Run out wearing clown shoes?
