.

the rams had the best possible offseason as blythe will not be able to stop dead drives anymore with his inability to block anyone on 3rd down.

i lost count of the number of big plays unfulfilled due to him whiffing on his assignment.

it makes me wonder sometimes, McVay is the best thing to happen the Rams since KW, but was/is it a Machiavellian twist of fate that Goff got the worst center in the NFL, who has since been cut to make an improvement for Stafford? Just wondering because i feel that Goff was treated rather shabbily at the end of his tenure.

I remember when I used to read ESPN and enjoy it. Not sure if the difference now is them or myself. But honestly nowadays the only good rag is the Athletic. They have standards and it's refreshing tbh.

I'm lazy so I signed up with google. I'm that guy lol.

Re: the service I was really enjoying it when they had Vinny on our beat, but when he left those shoes did not get filled so I unsubscribed. Jourdan is why I resubscribed. She's still learning things we know about the Rams (like the fact they're full of BS on what they say about players) but she does a great job not only of putting out opinions but also digging data from the Rams' staff it seems. Big fan of what she's doing there. (y)

The rams came in at number 27 in the worst offseason in football according to ESPN. That means only 5 teams had a worse offseason, and what’s the reasoning behind that? The Rams didn’t address the oline and instead drafted another wr.
makes sense, of course some media expect the rams to go deep in the playoffs also.

I thought it was because The Rams have a QB that in 13 years has only been to the Playoffs once. What a horrible trade getting rid of such a winning QB & give up 2 1st & a 3rd.

Talk about address. I say that is an undress stripping your of first rd draft picks .

LMAO - your talking about a young offensive line with depth.I like The Rams OL chemistry.I guess that doesn’t go into this scientific equation?

I disagree with how The Rams giving out BS.I think they are fairly honest.
Looking back though from Mcvay is he talked about not going to the draft house until Friday. It seemed like what he was saying that The Rams didn’t have a draft pick Thursday. Then we find out they were already worried about Covid. Then of course Les Snead gets it.
—Gurley- well The Rams had to roll with Todd Gurley in 2019. I LOL at the Dan’s talking crap about the OL.There track record of giving up the least amount of sacks in 2019 was not a good thing? Whatever.

Point being we all knew Todd Gurley had knee issues. You never really know much more than that on the team & players side. IMO Gurley was not a good Lockeroom guy.He was(is) a super smart player though. He does the right things in the field, maybe not so much in the sidelines.

Jared Goff- what is McVay suppose to say about his players? He always talks about the good & what they’ve meant to The Rams. Clay Matthews included.

T.Lewis will see how his knee holds up,but from what Copper Kupp says about what is going on with his knee & health,I’m sure Reggie Scott has things under control.

Truly can't imagine why anyone would give two shits about what ESPN thinks.

I’ll take a “crappy off-season” like this one, every year.

Who did they lose that was inconsistent?

Everett, Goff, and Reynolds are who I think of immediately as inconsistent.

Schematically limited players such as Brockers, Hill, and Johnson also come to mind. I like Ebukam, but unless they return to a more conventional 3-4 hybrid system, as much as I liked Ebukam, he falls into that schematically limited category as well.

Malcolm Brown was a good player, but definitely replaceable. IMO Funk has more upsides and scheme versatility due to his speed and history has shown RB is perhaps the easiest position for rookies to transition to the NFL quickly.

Morgan Fox was finally coming into his own, but like Ebukam he was limited in his versatility.

LOL Bythe wasn't a loss at all. In fact, it will be addition by subtraction in his case. No matter who takes his place they will be an upgrade.

On the flipside, they re-signed the most important players, Floyd, D. Williams, and traded for Stafford. They signed Jackson to mentor Tutu, and they kept Whitworth, Howard, and Shelton.

McQuaide is the only loss that they did not already have a replacement for.

This year's draft won't be known for a year or two. But IMO it's highly underrated. Harris has flashed his speed and hands and looks like he's a future monster to be accounted for in the near future. Atwell adds a dimension they lost with Cooks. Funk is faster and more versatile than the guy he replaced. Bobby Brown has a lot of potential to replace Robinson at some point. Rochell is a major sleeper and has an incredible ceiling. Long, athletic, fast ball-hawking CBs are rare. Rochell can be much like like Jaire Alexander only better. He's about as fast, taller and more athletic. He's just more raw coming in, a two-year project as opposed to Alexander. When I began looking at him, I could see 1st round traits. Being in the same room as Ramsey and Darious could pay huge dividends for Rochell and I think he will develop quickly. Chris Garrett their last pick has what you look for in a solid rotational player in a couple of years as well.

These idiots make judgements about shit they don't even know and haven't bothered to look into before making their pronouncements.

I don’t know who this ESPN genius is since no link was provided, but I’ll say this.

His or her take is absurd. The ignorance is breathtaking.

Actually, this draft looks like it has lots of potential and the Stafford trade was a blockbuster positive move for the Rams.

Can’t believe that someone actually gets paid to write such crap. SMH...

I disagree about the captain of the defense who ran the defense and made plays all over the field, plus was considered a pro bowl snub. JJ will be missed and was a very consistent player. He is regarded as one of the smartest and most instinctual players on the defense. The rest? Sure.

It is way too early to project this draft class as a hit.

My guess is that most of us disagree with Not Dead's comment about John Johnson.

If I was an unbiased fan and looked at the Rams offseason additions and subtractions along with their 2021 draft, I would probably give the Rams a c+ offseason grade.

Because I know the Rams roster inside out, I give them a B- on paper for their offseason upgrades.

What I don't pretend to know is how all of the added and subtracted pieces add up along with how well some of their draft picks will contribute in 2021.

Projecting the offseason additions and subtractions is all skeptical until we get all the camp reports and preseason games under the belt. Even then we can't be sure.

I like the way the Rams prove myself and many of the pundits wrong since McVay has been the head coach. I'm going with the trend that the Rams will surprise with how good they did in the offseason.

FWIW imo McVay may have overestimated the potential of the O last year and was very frustrated when it seemed to underachieve.

Anyway it seems clear now that McVay realized when acquiring Stafford that some positions needed to be improved around him to give him better support. Blythe out, Corbett in. Speed receivers in.
