Simple put its just nice to see Floyd sealing the edge continuously and move him around like a chess piece. Hope he wants to stay.

Of this group LG David Edwards might be the most doubtful to play. I would expect that Bonny Evans to answer the call with Andrew Whitworth on that left side. Which is just fine. The 6-4/314 ponder getting a large dose of LG in a critical playoff game will sure assist him as he goes into his 3rd season later in this summer.

If the Rams do desire a better-skilled pass protector @ RT instead of Havenstein then they have drafted 3 all who are ready for HD work to consider in swing OT Joe Noteboom- 4th season, Versatile former starting RT & now LG Bobby Evans -3rd season & OT Tremayne Anchrum entering his 2nd season. Even the 6-5/300 pounder Coleman Shelton has started a number of games @ RT early in Washington

Rams are sure looking for some way to enable them to sign Leonard Floyd & if Snead traded Havenstein for a 2022 draft selection Demoff would get about $7 million in cap savings. But there is some small dead cap $$ to deal with in 2021 & 2022. That's a start.

Considering our likely reliance on the running game, it doesn't make much sense to bench Havenstein, who is our second best run blocker behind Whit, for Noteboom, who isn't a good run blocker.

I agree Havenstein does get off some good blocks in the running game have to admit but Goff getting some much pressure from Havensteins side really cause disruption & off throws.

If we had one of those OT's who can develop pass block & run blocks consistently then Hav might be made available for trade with some cap savings. Goff has way too much pressure coming at him due directly from Hav. Hav should not have had so much trouble with pressures Saturday with his pass protection.

That isn't Noteboom. He will never be a road grader. I've been hopeful that Evans or Brewer could fit in that role. By the time we find out, they will be free agents. Other than depth that young talent gets wasted. But, I guess if Havenstein is starting at ORT and Brewer is not around we have to assume that Rob is the best they have.

The guy I'd like to see Evans win a starting job over is Corbett. He's another Havenstein. Great run blocker lousy pass blocker. It would be nice to have someone that can do both. I'm off the Corbett to Center bandwagon btw. He's no better a pass blocker than Blythe.

Corbett is a much stouter pass blocker than Blythe. I also think y'all are selling Havenstein way short as a pass blocker. He's not elite, but he's definitely not lousy.

I like Hav and his contract is a value. But yeah I could see them moving him to make room for Evans and gaining cap space. Would not rule that out. :beer2:

I hope Donald’s injury isn’t being understated.

When his injury happened, it was “the first time“ I recall really seeing him grimace in pain. So, that’s warning bell #1. And rib area... tricky tricky, that’s bell #2.

But what do I know? Here’s hoping he is fine.

McVay: John Wolford, Aaron Donald, David Edwards and Cooper Kupp day-to-day; Donald and Kupp expected to play against Packers

Quarterback John Wolford (stinger), defensive lineman Aaron Donald (rib), offensive lineman David Edwards (Achilles tendonitis) and wide receiver Cooper Kupp (bursitis) are all considered "day-to-day" following injuries sustained in the Rams' Wild Card win over the Seahawks, head coach Sean McVay told reporters during a video conference Sunday evening.

In the cases of Donald and Kupp, McVay said he did not expect either of their injuries to impact their availability for Saturday's divisional round playoff game against the Packers.

Regarding Kupp specifically, McVay said that "hopefully (we'll) get that swelling and inflammation down, with the anticipation and the hope to have him ready to go."

However, with Wolford coming off a stinger and Jared Goff still recovering from his right thumb injury, McVay said "we're going to take it a day at a time with both of those guys." Reiterating his postgame comments, McVay also said he wasn't going to make a statement about who will start.

"I just want to be able to see their health," McVay said, when asked what kind of progress he needs to see from either quarterback before determining who will start. "That's the first thing, and then we'll just kind of go from there."

If Edwards ends up being unavailable for Saturday's contest in Green Bay, Bobby Evans would be his replacement at left guard again.

Sorry if I’ve missed this but what’s Hendo’s situation? Is he done for the season?

He had a really bad high ankle sprain. Depending on severity and type it could take 6 weeks and even longer to heal completely but generally for pro athletes it's 4-6 weeks. So if we make it to the Super Bowl I'd think there's a chance he could come back but I wouldn't expect it any sooner. And I'm not sure they even put him on the designated to return list? The rules this year are wonky.

I can't believe how many people are so keen to ship a solid RT out of town. Building a stout offensive line is beyond challenging. We have a very capable RT, who playing on a fair value contract, and people want to get rid of him. Crazy.

Havenstein has great durability. He is very good at run blocking. His pass blocking is below average, but still not bad, and it's really only his trouble with speed rushers that sees me give him a below average grade.

He's still reasonably young at 28, but has several years of experience, with is important with such a young o-line and Whitworth only having a few years left. Who will help tutor and mentor these guys when Whit is gone?

If one of the young guys can supplant Havenstein, great. That's how you win in the NFL - having players on cheap rookie contracts making big contributions. But I am not looking to move off of any of our offensive linemen right now. Depth in the trenches is so, so important. We do need an upgrade at centre, so I hope Blythe is not starting next season. But even Blythe, I would love to keep around if we could somehow pay him a rate in accordance with a reserve lineman. He can play several positions, knows the system, and has lots of starting experience with the Rams now, even if a chunk of it has been underwhelming. Having him as a "next man up" swing man would be huge.

I never would have let Saffold go. We should have saved money elsewhere. That, to me, is one of the biggest mistakes of the Snead-McVay era. You don't let go of stout offensive linemen, who can play multiple positions on the o-line, and that have a number of good years left. Especially not if Jared Goff.

People just trying how to figure out to find cap room. Evans looks like he could handle right tackle well. Brewer was looking like it too.

I'm extremely happy, that the Noteboom experiment at LG is over.

When Edward's went down Saturday, I feared we were going to put in Note.

AD rib cartilage should be good to go. While it is painful, even breathing, the area can be numbed with an injection.

I’ve cracked ribs on two occasions. Painful and beyond annoying in everyday activities. Hopefully with the right equipment, treatment and game day prep AD will be good to go.
