Well, if its Goff, then I hope that thumb is right....enough at least. I would honestly feel more confident with The Wolf in there for this game in that cold ass stadium. Oh well....in Goff we trust.

Rams injury update: John Wolford ruled out vs Packers, Jared Goff to start
Blake Bortles as backup

Rams-Packers: John Wolford ruled out, Jared Goff to start - Turf Show Times

The LA Rams have ruled out quarterback John Wolford for this Saturday’s divisional round game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Wolford started LA’s wild card win over the Seattle Seahawks last weekend but left after taking a severe hit to the head and neck area for safety Jamal Adams. He was replaced by Jared Goff, who went 9-of-19 for 159 yards while playing through a recently-broken and dislocated right thumb.

Goff will start against the Packers this Saturday and Blake Bortles, signed off of the Denver Broncos practice squad less than two weeks ago, will be his backup. Bortles spent 2019 as the Rams backup, so he does have experience in Sean McVay’s system.

#Rams coach Sean McVay ruled QB John Wolford out Saturday vs. the #Packers. He hasn’t practiced this week. Jared Goff will start, Blake Bortles will back up.

Goff started 15 games during the regular season, missing his first career start due to injury in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals. McVay would likely feel most comfortable getting his rushing attack going early in the game against the Packers and even an injured Goff could be their best bet for making that happen with play action passing and Cam Akers behind him.

Over Goff???? The same Bortles who no other team would sign as a starter??
Seriously, some people I just don't think there's a thought process involved with them. How on earth could anybody prefer Bortles. Saturday can't get here fast enough.

How does a starting qb, Bortles, end up on a practice squad?

Covid-19 protocols made it impossible to get a starting job with no camp and I don't believe that he had an active contract with anyone.

Stop with the 20 degree weather - it's going to be 34 at kickoff.
34° is not too bad considering it's Green Bay. There is a 40% chance of snow though, but I think that's in the early morning and not at game time. May be a little windy too.
