So how big of a pick do you think we will have to give for another team to take himIf it were me I trade RT Evans for a future draft pick

If Hollins doesn’t get hurt The Rams have no space or reason to have Jones on there roster anywaysNot assuming Pittsburgh wanted or expected to lose Jamir Jones.
Guessing that the Steelers intended to move Jones to their Practice Squad. However, rules require that he first has to be released and clear waivers.
The Rams got Jones on a waiver claim. The Rams.
Waiver claims are based on worst record priority. If the Rams got him, that means few ... if any other ... teams put in a claim.
If it's the current NFL records, then none of the 28 teams with a loss, put in a claim.
If it's too early in 2021 to go by current records for waiver priority, then none of the teams (about 22 or 24) with fewer than ten wins in 2020, put in a claim on Jones.
Just trying to make the point that Pittsburgh's strategy to retain Jamir Jones on its PS, may have been ruined by just one team ... the Rams,
I sure do not believe Bobby Evans has any real value as a NFL OG, that I will agree with you on once again. However, I do think that he might bring some slight interest before the trade deadline interest from any team who needs a reserve RT due to having several injuries to that position. Snead/McVay needs to bring back future swing OG Tremayne Anchrum to the MR53 in less than 3 weeks. Why the blue font ?
Personally, I don't see Evans having any trade value.
You have some merit in your question even if it's in blue font. I was thinking we might possibly get a 34 D 4th reserve edge rusher OLB'er or a 3rd-day late draft pick for RT needy team before he is sent to the WWC line.So how big of a pick do you think we will have to give for another team to take him
Not necessarily. If Hollins doesn’t get hurt The Rams have no space or reason to have Jones on there roster anyways
They're going to wheel Hollin's out in a full body cast, bro.You do realize Hollins just went on the IR?
With Garrett just coming off the Covid ir & OBo almost ready as well also adds to my thinking.I won’t get into all that though,so we’ll just keep to my opinion. Not necessarily.
If the Front Office really liked Jones, they may have still added him via waiver-pick-up.
A roster spot would have been needed but the Rams are carrying a lot of safeties on the 53. Hughes or Reed could have been candidates to release, and then be added to the Practice Squad if not claimed off waivers ... like the Rams picked-up Jamir Jones.
JuJu Hughes is on the 53-man-roster.With Garrett just coming off the Covid ir & OBo almost ready as well also adds to my thinking.I won’t get into all that though,so we’ll just keep to my opinion.
Actually as well I don’t know how this 53 man rotation thing works either.lots of player coming through the practice squads. This Buddy Howell & Tyler Hall have been playing on special teams.Juju & DD have been kept on practice squad.
Thanks for clarifying.Does he line up on the left side on kickoffs ? Haven’t noticed him on special teams.Could be because I noticed other players than the regulars.JuJu Hughes is on the 53-man-roster.
Dont'e Deayon is on the Practice Squad.
If you're asking about JuJu Hughes, I don't believe he has been game-day-active through three games.Does he line up on the left side on kickoffs ? Haven’t noticed him on special teams. Could be because I noticed other players than the regulars.
Perfect- what about this Tyler Hall kid.Just a special teams guy that doesn’t cost much? Is Juju 100%,because he would seem to beIf you're asking about JuJu Hughes, I don't believe he has been game-day-active through three games.
He's been on the 53-man-roster but not all 53 players are suited-up for Sunday.
In addition, teams can activate a couple Practice Squad players for a game but there are limitations on the number of players and how many times such PS players can be activated before being placed on the 53. This was a 2020 revision in rules for COVID; and has been carried-over for 2021.
So Hughes is on the 53-man-roster but has not yet been active on Sunday.
Lawler is on the Practice Squad but has played in two games thus far.
Maybe he was talking about Ernest Jones?I was wondering who Morris was talking about in his presser when he said “rookie Jones” will be getting playing time. Glad to see that our front office does not sleep on opportunities to improve the roster. Still hoping Hollins is in top form for the playoffs. He looked so good early opposite the beast Floyd. Let’s see what OBO brings too. Could be a good start against a scrambling QB.
That's what I think. The instinctive faster ILB Jones working with ILB Young have the speed over DL'ers to be able to get to Murray or keep him in check once he gets out from containment. I know Jones is an ILB'er but is one observant ILB'er who reads very well & will react much differently than the Morris controlled disappointing Fuller or Rapp.Maybe he was talking about Ernest Jones?
That's how I took it too. That's what I think. The instinctive faster ILB Jones working with ILB Young have the speed over DL'ers to be able to get to Murray or keep him in check once he get out from containment.
You know I did a complete reversal on my opinion on ILB Kenny Young once I saw what he brought to this defense. This is his first season being named as a starter. That's how I took it too.
Young is growing on me tbh. As long as he keeps improving I'm pretty much off his ass at this point. The range simply fits the way Morris is calling this defense. I'd like to see fewer mistakes but the guy seems driven to improve so I'm good on that front as long as he keeps making plays like he just did in the previous game.
But that aside when Jones has this defense down there are teams on the schedule he will help us against. 9ers for example, also the Seahawks, both teams that will mash that ball if you show weakness in your run fits. What he potentially offers is more consistency in ensuring the hole is not there which is gonna be valuable against those types of teams.
And from there if he's on point with the calls that's a big bonus. The difference between having all 11 guys locked in pre-snap with their responsibilities for a given look versus having a couple that are unsure is a big one in the NFL. His leadership can help us, the dude is smart and knows how to motivate the other players around him the staff just needs to ensure he's ready mentally because if you're out there fucking up ain't nobody wants to follow that.
I'd definitely cut loose Evans but not Hoecht. I'd rather release Reed or Juju before Hoecht. There is no guarantee who we release won't be snatched up.If the Rams need to open a spot for Og Okoronkwo then I would consider OL'er Bobby Evans or DL'er Mike Hoecht.
I think your right about GMs trying to project who would clear and that might not be the lowest guy. I'm guessing safety because of how many we have on the current roster. Shoot I forgot about Perkins at QB too. I really like how Williams and Hoecht are developing along that DlineI really like what Juju was doing in preseason. No way he'd be the cut if I'm the GM. I think he's gonna help us if Rapp can't figure this out.
Re: the cuts one thing GMs do is roll the dice based on who they think will clear. So if for example Evans is the bottom guy on the roster he still might not be the cut because his draft status makes it more likely he gets snapped up than maybe some UDFA who might get overlooked. Snead seems to have a really good handle on what other GMs are thinking and projecting that stuff.
So I'm with you guys on Evans. But the power of draft status is real. GMs are gonna remember how they had him on their boards.
