Hills tackling was atrocious, coverage on the backend with JJ and Rapp was horrible. Jordan Fuller is our best safety.

LBs got exposed all day, Kaiser and Young cannot cover at an NFL level.

Our OLB are overrated. Floyd with an occasional good pass rush but no where to be seen in the run game. And we have a complete hole on the otherside. Ebukam or Obo aren't NFL level starters.

yeah, the OLB drop off from last year is beyond stark. Floyd seems to have been a waste of FA money

Not really gonna bitch, Hollins I thought played well in the final minutes. Hey Staley, We need a pass rush even if it does expose the back end. Once we got pressure the game changed. McV adjusted and we got back into the game. Lots to be positve about and lots to be concerned about. Lets see what gets fed Concern or Optimism

Leaving the middle wide open on two 3rd & long situations how we don't prepare for Allen to go over the middle on the second one is just pathetic. Every fan at home could have seen that coming but our coaching staff and players playing at a professional level can't? Plain and simply pitiful.

This was infuriating to notice, live. Sigh. I hope we study this game film, HARD AF. I want these bad plays SEERED INTO OUR GUYS' RETINAS!

NEVER AGAIN! LOL

Fowler was a good player for us, both in the run and pass. People around here talked shit because of his occasional penalty or bone headed play, but he has more talent than both our current OLBs combined.

I could not agree more. Someone has to be able to beat a 1 on 1. Its literally the easiest it gets for the most part

Re: Rapp to be fair it's a tough offense to have your first appearance against. That unit is legit man. Fans acting like we just gave up points to a plodding offense need to reevaluate their opinion of Buffalo. Buffalo is a deep playoff team IMO.

Allen played his ass off. He's a stud QB. Still with all our probs we should have won that game too. That call was BS. So all things considered I'm pretty happy about things given that we lost today.

He certainly was. Unfortunately, we had to make choices. I would have loved to have Fowler back. I'm hoping someone will step up at the position. On a per snap basis, Polite has done well...But there has to be a reason he hasn't gotten snaps.

Looked to me that the early game and the travel back to back had them start a little flat.
Could be. But I hate to blame something on the schedule that everyone has had months to prepate for.

The call wasn't why we lost at all. We got gifted an INT earlier in the game. We lost due to first half defense and especially on third down when we knew they were passing. JJ played especially bad in coverage which was a surprise honestly, but Rapp has never been good in zone and thats what we run mostly. He cant read pass concepts and anticipate well enough, and then cover for a 2nd round pick. Rapp and Hill were the worst defenders on the field for us today. Next were our LBs who literally cant cover anything in the pass game either. I guess thats why we play so much zone. But when you have literal gaping holes on defense in close games like this there will be too many big plays given up, thats why we lost. 3rd and 23 followed by a 3rd and 22 and we lose that game. This wasn't Allen "beating" us with his elite throws on those plays. Those are not plays that should be given up by quality NFL defenses.

Giving up 2 3rd and forever is unacceptable and the reason they lost. The secondary needs to be looked at. That was embarrassing.
Maybe coach up how to play a zone. They stand and watch the pass rush instead of patrol their area for receivers standing open.

I don't think Staley is ready yet. A 3-22 and 4-9 really????

No pass rush all game until he holds onto the ball forever. Run D was getting gashed all day. Poor tackling.

We should of won this game 3-22 is unexcusable you blitz the guy don't sit back. When Allen has been sitting back he hits his receivers. Blitz the motherfucker so obvious.

Agreed. Absolutely need to blitz. This wouldn’t have been a game if we
Blitzed even a little. Allen can’t process anything.

Staley turned in a terrible game.

No pre-season and short camp

Oh, I understand that. Between those, and the fact that this years rules prohibited staying out east for the week, I'm sure it mattered. But I'm all about the mindset that you have to accept the things you can't change, and roll with it.

is there amy way to prepare for 2 cross country games in 7 days? Normal circumstances dictate that the Rams would stay on East coast for a week, but not allowed under Covid-19 protocols.

Predictions:

1. Ebukam lost his job today. If Staley doesn't do that teams are going to eat him up until the change is made IMO.

2. Hill showed his ass and Staley should be looking at Long this week and considering whether he can remove that inconsistency with a roster move. Hill's strong game 2 in the slot just got undone by today's game and other teams are going to attack him.

3. McVay will realize he can switch up the playcalling priority wrt some of the fancy play calls. Especially in the redzone. In the redzone dial up more power runs IMO and things will look a lot more automatic in finishing drives. Seriously man this OL was incredible in the run game today and that's a huge story here.
Agreed. No injuries and Rams emerging run game is the story line. I will take a loss and hope Staley can figure it out.

may need to bring in Clay Matthews.
