Fully. He charged into Williams practically forcing him to put his hands on him. That was no accident imo.

one of the guys mentioned that during the broadcast. that the wr initiated contact. at least it was mentioned. doesn't make me feel any better.

Blue pants caused the DPI, am I right?

Honestly I think it was Williams throwing up his hands after the contact to say "I didnt do anything." In reality after the initial press, most of the contact was initiated by the WR. And if you watch the replay the side ref doesn't throw the flag until seeing Williams raise his hands for like a full second or two. Its something guilty parties typically do, and I think it was borderline and that was ultimately what made him throw the flag. I truly believe regardless of the contact if he didn't do that it doesn't get called.

Oh well, its irrelevant at this point.

At this stage all that matters is staying healthy and getting the defense better. Our offense is rolling and poised for a deep playoffs run if we can get the defense tweaked and find our edge rusher. I truly don't think we can make a Super Bowl run without an edge pass rusher. Staley also has to learn from this. But the offense back on track is an exciting development, I think our running game is going to be in the top 3 and maybe top running game by end of quarter one of the season.

Yea I put our first half offense on McVay because we ran the ball well and Goff was sharp. Just not a good gameplan early by McVay. And yea I really hope our defense can be fixed. T Lewis will help from the edge for sure, but I'm much more concerned with Ebukam, Kaiser, Young, JJ, Rapp, and Hill. We have too many liabilities on defense I fear and not sure if Staley can scheme us out of trouble against playoff caliber teams.

When half of your defensive starters are question marks it's going to be a challenge to be consistent. Really disappointed in the regression so far by JJ and Rapp. Thought our safety play would be a huge strength this yr.

There are a couple posters I am currently ignoring. I'm real close to adding to that list. ;)
I had one during the relocation but that person is long gone. Just added one and another is really close. I don't mind disagreeing with somebody at all, I welcome discussion. But some people are just negative every post and always have the craziest ideas that they're willing to go down with.

I just start to run out of patience when it's in thread after thread and complete fabrications to justify this ax said person is grinding.

Thought the same thing. Flag was late like the guy looked at it and thought..."Yeah, he must have held him!"

Need to be more subtle and the WR just ran into him like he was trying to draw a foul.

Honestly I think most of those players are serviceable. We cant have pro bowlers everywhere on Defense and scheme can really assist them. I mean JJ has been a real solid player though this game he got caught out of position more than usual. Kaiser just won DPW coming off a monster game. Young is brand new to the system and has made some plays. Hill has struggled, there is no question but he's been asked to play the nickel which is brand new to him. Ebukam, I have been saying for years he is better as a backup. He can get stonewalled pretty easily.

I think with an edge rusher and scheme tweaks we can be a top 10 defense.

Staley loves his prevent defense. It certainly prevented the Rams from winning today.
Dude you're like the drunk uncle that destroys the family barbeque. I think you're completely out of your mind at times, but always a fun read. Rock on my Ram brother. :beer2:

Dude does get outside of reality. But in my book Staley does need to learn from this game. You absolutely do have to get pressure on a QB and send a blitz at times, especially if you don't have the pass rushers up front.

Staley I am sure owns this loss and he should. I doubt that is in question even among the staff. He got his ass kicked and everyone knows it.

But every coach gets his ass kicked sometimes. And he's a first time DC with a couple solid games under his belt too. And some of it was players. And so on. So I'm not alarmed or anything like that. Let's see how he responds.

And btw the coordinator level coach on the Rams that should be getting a ration of shit with him is Bonamego. Our teams have not been good across the board. It's still early but he's gotta raise the bar too IMO.
