If you want to believe that, sure.
Also, Brady and Bill didn't know the balls were being deflated or other teams practices being recorded.
They know....they always know.
Knowing they know and proving they know are two different things, ya know?
Funny to think Alex Smith and Reggie Bush went to Helix High in San Diego at the same time....what a backfield.
Yeah but the NCAA had zero evidence that they knew. They just assumed they knew.

I have seen other schools do much worse stuff and the NCAA slaps them on the wrist.

Or reverses their sanctions - Penn State anyone

The school did nothing.

Reggie got money from an agent.

End discussion.

I expect the Rams to keep 3 QBs on the roster.

1. Stafford's elbow is a concern no matter how much McVay says it isn't. Tendonitis will get worse as the season progresses. IMO Matt probably has a 3 year window at most.
2. Both SF & Seattle will be looking for QBs
3. Wolford and Perkins will be the backups again IMO
4. They need to take a long hard look at Perkins. He's a better QB than Wolford who is all he's going to be right now. Bryce has upsides Wolford doesn't. John has the experience edge over Bryce, but Perkins has a higher ceiling.

Neither has a high ceiling, or even an average one. That's why they are end of the bench, hope they never have to play, guys.
Wolford is the #2, hands down. Perkins may be the #3 if he plays well in PS games, otherwise he goes to PS. Last year was the only time McVay kept 3 QB on the 53, I doubt he does again

I think Perkins loses his roster spot, unless he lights up preseason.

McVay knows what he needs and he appears to see it in Wolford.

If we lose Stafford, there are guys like Andy Dalton, Joe Flacco, Gardner Minchew etc we could try to trade for. We would be desperate any way you slice it if we lose Stafford.

I sure hope as hell that Wolford has looked good in practice because if we have trot Perkins in any scenario even the Texans would stomp us. He actually looked like regressed last night. Numbers were hardly indicative of how bad he played. Under thrown balls that should have been picked, no pocket presence, just woeful.

Prior to this game the outlook on Perkins was that he might be on the bubble. Nothing has changed. Rams may keep him but to do so they will lose a good bottom roster player this year due to it.

Perkins is an athletic QB with a noodle arm. How would Perkins look playing the San Diogo Charger's first-string defense?

Florio speculated on this (he did report it was just speculation). I think that's where it's coming from.
Fuck Florio. He also called McVay a liar loudly and repeatedly the other day because he didn’t outright say he had a new contract on 7/22 or didn’t just say “I don’t wanna talk about it”. So because McVay told the truth that he and Snead wanted to announce their new deals at the same time, Florio calls him a liar????

We have a better chance of signing Von Miller back than getting Jimmy G.

Also… FUCK FLORIO!!!

Just finished watching the game, and thought Perkins looked pretty decent. Threw a couple balls that drew PI, had a drop or 2. Clearly they planned on him using his legs, giving the o-line more run game reps.
I dont think there was/is a chance he would be the #2 this year, Wolford would have to really be horrible in practice/games. But I do think there's a chance he stays on the 53, which would virtually hand him the #2 job next year.

I thought he was bad. Good runner, but bad passer.
I say cut.

There's two more preseason games left and Perkins is going to get most of those reps. Also last preseason his best game was vs Staley's defense, but after that he wasn't quite as good. So still plenty of time for the team to look at him in very valuable game conditions.

What I like about him, as mentioned this time last year, is his calmness. He never looks panicked. He's tough and keeps his head up and focused. But it doesn't look to me like he's made big strides in the offense.

For an example of what I mean there was a swing pass early in the game where he telegraphed it and effectively shrunk the window the target would have. He should have had some eye control and went through those other options, or pretend to, before turning and making that throw. But you cannot stare down the outlet in the NFL. That will lead to ineffective plays and maybe INTs.

He looked to me very similar to last preseason. Which is not good IMO. I like him but it doesn't look like he's improved enough to where you say "we gotta keep this kid at QB3."

I dont know if they expect more out of a backup QB. Wolford isnt much of a passer either.
I just liked the fact that they had him throwing down field, unlike the Chargers who puffed up their QB stats with dink and dunk
Last year Perkins was able to move the team between the 20's but couldnt get in the EZ. 4 TD drives? Not bad

I know it sounds crazy, but I'd still like to see Perkins lined up as a RB. I don't know if he can catch well, but he can run and shed tackles. He'd be our biggest RB as he is damn near Dickerson's size. I'd like to know if he adds more value to our team as a RB who can throw or as a QB who can run ? I'm not particularly enthused by any of our RB's outside of Akers & Henderson, ... and we didn't quite hit 3 YPC yesterday, and last years YPC were pretty pathetic also. jmo.

I would be fine with that, then the Giants can trade Danny Dimes to the Los Angeles Rams. Always thought Jones would be the perfect backup QB and I would like to see what McVay could do with him.
I'd be intrigued by Daniel Jones. He definitely can run and sling the ball. Only problem with him is his consistency. Could possibly be coached up.

I think Perkins will not make the roster. As much as I like his competitiveness, he's not starting material and a bottom of the barrel backup QB. Just my opinion.
