I'd say it's in turmoil because we don't have a viable back up period. Nothing against John, just don't think he could lead us to the playoffs and farther if Stafford goes down early to mid-season.

I liked Bryce Perkins at Virginia, he played well for the Cavaliers and led them to some great victories a couple of games carrying them on his back. Obviously accuracy will be the work on for Perkins, but he's an exceptional athlete and from the neck up is very astute. Not a fan of Hodges, maybe it's because he goes by Duck, but watching him with the Steelers, IMO, it wasn't there, but he was 3-3, however, 6-1 on a good day so my hope is because of what Perkins brings to the table, hopefully, he can show the Rams something because I do believe he could develop down the road.

Yeah "turmoil" is overkill but it does suck for him to miss time in this window. Skill types would get better work if he was available. Affects more than just him.

I like and respect his game but he needs to start displaying an ability to be healthy and available. In other words he should be able to start the rest of the preseason games and get good work in. If he can't do that then they might develop some real concerns about being able to count on him.

Pretty bummed out about this. Its seems like every time Wolford has a shot to show what he has, he's hurt (or sick in this case). Really would have loved to see him lead the team this preseason, now he will likely not take a single live action snap (maybe in game 3). The back ups after him don't have a big shot of being active on game day, but would like to see them ball out. Hoping Perkins pops, he's got a weapon we haven't seen at QB (legs).

I think he's capable of helping the Rams get to the postseason.

We have a better or comparable backup QB situation than just about every team who hasn't drafted a QB high recently (i.e. GB, Niners, JAX, CHI, NE)

I agree with this. But if I am gonna expect the RB depth guys to actually show an ability to finish games when they're needed then I can't have double standards with a depth QB. Fact is Wolford took at least 5 maybe more self-inflicted and vicious shots by Cards defenders then a week fucking later runs into one right away in the Seattle game and gets a concussion.

Not gonna have a cow about the guy suffering an appendix, that shit can happen. But holy Jesus man. The dude has to show he can stay healthy if he's gonna eat a backup QB spot on a deep playoff team.

Meh, really thought nothing of it when I saw this. He is #2 and will continue to be. He knows the offense, McVay trusts him and he showed he has game. Unless there are complications from the surgery he’ll probably play all of “game” 3.

God forbid he has to play this year outside of mop up duties.

I'd like to know how you've come to this conclusion?
With you Corbin. Though I'm not sure how far he could take us into the playoffs,
I have Faith in Wolford. After he got the nerves under control, he showed
he could move the football.
And from what I have read he is a workaholic. Often being the last player leaving the building.

I see him more as being able to maintain us into the playoffs where he doesn't lose us the games and gives us a fair shot. Taking into account Stafford gets us the majority of the way in this scenario. But for 4-5 games I think he'd be golden compared to most and feel fortunate we have him on our roster!
