It's not all Goff's fault... but saying every qb needs prime pass protection is simply not true.

what's glaringly true is that this offensive line and Goff together are looking pretty damn bad right now.

Goff isn't Russell Wilson or Lamar Jackson. He's a pocket passer. He can't outrun or dance around pressure. That's just the reality of the situation. But if we actually give him some protection, he can deliver. Unfortunately, we aren't doing that today.

One thing people fail to understand is that one reason McVay's is passing on first down is that if it gets to 2nd down or 3rd down and long - the pass rush is going to destroy us.

I'm convinced Gurley retiring from the game in 2 years to pursue outside endeavors. Get DH in there and tell TG to kick rocks.
When I first read your post I thought you wrote Gurley would be installing outside elevators!

In 2nd half we just need to run run run and then more runs.
We HAVE to just do it until something gives.
If we don't change what we're doing in this game, we will not win.

It is definitely a team effort right now. Oline is bad, Goff isn’t throwing well, Gurley looks like he’s half asleep, fuck even Kupp dropped a pass, Hekker shanked a punt, and GZ missed an easy field goal. It’s just bad overall right now.

There's no winning. They're squatting on the short routes. They're playing M2M to take away quick throws. They're sniffing out the screens. The OL is either going to step up and provide some modicum of protection, or we will lose.

Thread winner here... they know we can't protect -so they are going to try to take away the quick stuff.

That's what the 49ners did to us and that's what the Steelers are doing.

This game is shaping up like the SB against NE or the SF game.

Goff is playing rattled, and the predicatble playcalling/formations are not helping.

Second half might be quite an agonizing ordeal.

except we have Kupp now.. WE GOT THIS!

Goff is not Russell Wilson. He’s an extremely accurate pocket passer who needs a semblance of a run game to get going. It is what it is. We’ve clearly been successful with him and he’s won a ton of games. The rest of the offense is doing him zero favors right now.

Childish yes but wouldn't you agree? He doesn't carry himself with confidence..not in his play, not in his body language. When things get tough he doesn't respond as a leader and competitor should. We saw it in the Super Bowl. He had a chance this year to come out and erase that image from everyone's mind, but has instead only reinforced it with an absolutely horrible season through 10 weeks.

No, I sure as hell don’t agree with that nonsense

Goff ain't "flat foot either". He's not a running QB...but he can move and run...they need to move him.

This is just the way it is and should not come as a surprise to anyone. It just is

Pocket passers are able to read on the fly, quick. Goff doesn’t seem he has that mental capacity to do so. On top of that with no OL even adds a bigger issue to his performance.
