The Rams played the Packers in a playoff game at Lambeau Field way back in 1967? Was this the last time the Rams met the Packers in a Divisional Round of the playoff at Lambeau?

County Stadium in Milwaukee...in those days the Pack split their games between Lambeau and County Stadium

So I'm assuming that's the last time the teams met in a playoff game at Green Bay. Yes, I recall County Stadium. Teams' benches were on the same side of the field. Is that correct?

I just looked it up and that 1967 playoff game was the last time the Rams played the Packers on the road. I remember my uncle and cousin flew to Green Bay to see the game. I could have sworn the game was at Lambeau Field. You could be right. My cousin came back frostbitten and the 7-28 loss didn't help. Kick returneer ran back the opening kickoff for a TD and then it was Packers the rest of the afternoon. My mom wouldn't let me go; she was afraid I would catch my death of a very bad cold. Of course now we know you can't catch a cold that way. In retrospect, though, both my dad and I were relieved we didn't attend that game and not because of the loss but because we wouldn't have been able to put up with the freezing cold. My pop grew in Pittsburgh but had become used to the Los Angeles weather.

The good news is that McVay and Staley know this scheme very well.
That's what I'm thinking. Rams' scheme will be so dialed in man. Not just Staley but McVay helping him.

But even then it's easy to predict. Stuff that run game and even Aaron Rodgers is gonna have his work cut out vs our defense.

ARod plays QB with great intelligence like Russell Wilson. However, he isn't as good as Russell is at preserving his health. Russell KNOWS what The Kraken! can do, and, when Aaron is near, Russell would rather slide to the turf when running or throw the rock away than risk having Aaron muscle the ball loose on a strip sack. I don't think ARod has faced the improved version of LB "Pretty Boy" Floyd yet either. ARod may be in for a long day (or a short day with injury!) if he doesn't place self preservability as a team goal above his sometimes reckless scampers.

Cam runs with great intelligence on how to employ his blockers, great balance, and he is always spinning forward for another 3-5 yards or more! before eventually going down. In time he will learn how avoid much of the heavy NFL caliber hits he has absorbed already this season. However, this a guy defenders have to make sure he is actually, actually down before one can say the play is over. From the defensive point of view, Cam has an irritating habit of keeping his legs & hands active to help maintain his balance. His 44 yard catch & run against the 'Hawks was a classic demonstration of running with balance and awareness of the sidelines.

The Leprechaun has to pound it into The Wolfman's cranium that he is not! a RB, and he needs to slide when the play appears over. You only risk the big hit for 3rd or 4th down runs for needed 1st downs or TDs. Jared now knows he is either starting or coming off the bench to relieve the Howling Wolf; so he should be better prepared and (hopefully) more healthy to face the Pack. He has been compared to Aaron when he was coming out of college, but he needs to develop the instincts of knowing when to quickly take off and run when that is the best option and sliding down unless a 1st down or TD effort is needed. Russell Wilson has the best blueprint for how the modern QB should run with the rock. It's ridiculous to have QBs pretending to be as tough as RBs---very few have been!

Sean's theme, The Revenge of the Leprechaun, must continue to shut these idiotic talking heads up who believe the rest of the NFL has caught up with our young guru.

There's a lot of familiarity on both sides. I think we have the edge in coaching, though, because Staley is a Fangio protege and runs a defense that was the bane of our existence back when our offense was firing on all cylinders in 2018. Plus, I think Staley is a vastly superior DC to Pettine. However, the Packers have a HOF QB who is likely the NFL MVP this year. We have no idea what we have at QB. Should be a fun one.

I was 13 and watched on television. I could have sworn the packers had a kickoff return for a touchdown too. But history remembers differently.

No turnovers is necessary. Forcing turnovers, running the ball well will give us a chance to win. Green Bay doesn’t play well against really good physical defenses and teams that ram the ball down your throat.

GB got hammered by the whiners last season. We can hammer them this season.

I watched this game @ a Sears TV center in the Sears Roebuck and Co., It was when I saw my first color TV. We were in downtown Santa Maria CA but living in Lompoc CA Vanderburg AFB. I had to be dragged away from the TV by my dad. I love the old Blue & white Rams unis!

Not gonna lie boys and girls I’m worried about this one .. we have key players banged up and we are going against arguably one of the best to ever throw the ball

Win or lose .. I’m proud of everyone who laced it up this year in horns

Packer OL is having some issues late going into the Ram game.

LT- Pro Bowl left tackle David Bakhtiari suffered a torn ACL is on the IR. The Packers moved Billy Turner from right tackle to left tackle, inserted Rick Wagner at right tackle. Wagner suffered a knee injury himself last week against Tennessee and was a limited participant in practice last Thursday. Versatile Elgton Jenkins and Turner can play tackle.

RT- Rick Wagner’s knee injury in gm 16 might be a problem. Injury week to week. Could be RG Billy Turner moving out to RT too.

LG- Elgton Jenkins

RG- Billy Turner normally starts here but there is a strong chance Turner ends up @ LT if Elgton does not. Swing OG Lucas Patrick could end up starting @ RG.

OC- Corey Linsey

Ok....

So we got:

Seahawks --> Packers --> Saints --> Chiefs

Wilson --> Rodgers --> Brees/Brady --> Mahomes

Easy peasy

Yeah individually I am not afraid of any of the NFC matchups. It's the thought of this team stringing the wins together mostly that would concern me.

AFC is going to produce a nasty matchup though. I don't think the Chiefs are a given either but it's still gonna be a heck of a matchup.

Several thoughts :

If I was a GB fan I would hate that match up. A solid defense that usually taking out your main weapon and pressures the QB without needing to blitz. This doesn't play well for them and since they struggle to stop the run they can lose control of the clock pretty quick if they fall behind.
The weather factor is less of a problem for a team led by its defense. I'm not too worried about the cold

GB is 2-2 against teams with a winning record this year. The destruction of Tennessee week 16 is worrying though, but I think 13-3 is a flattering record.

I feel good about this game actually, I think the team will come in pretty healthy, the defense is absolutely rolling and will be electric against Rodgers. If Akers can put another solid performance together and Goff manages the game without turnovers, I think we win that one.

The pressure is on GB's side. Getting to the divisional round this year is I think what our target was beginning of the season, now with the #6 we play pressure free.

If AD is healthy, I feel good. Also I hope we play Goff, but with the cold and his thumb, not sure it's possible.

Not sure if anyone watched McVays media session today. But to me it sure sounds like Wolford is starting again in GB. I thought it was a gutsy performance by Goff in SEA, but he's clearly not 100%. Wolford's injury was classified as a stinger and he seems okay according to McVay.

Listen to his answers in these sections:

Gary Klein - 5:03 - 6:40

Jourdan Rodrigue - 8:31 - 10:55
