That would be incredibly impressive. Atlanta has had a crappy season but they get after it on the defensive side of the ball. They got good DBs and can rush the passer. And they’ve been a tough team at home. They shut down Josh Allen and blasted Buffalo on MNF earlier in the year.Rams have a chance to set the NFL record by having four straight games of 500 or more yards on Offense. Historic.
I doubt that will happen. Would be cool of course. I'd like to see it. But I think we lost the top seed in that game. I expect Seattle is going to throttle Carolina. Rams are going to be road warriors in the playoffs as they are always destined to be under McVay.There is a real chance, that by the time they take the field on Monday night, that they will be back in control of their own destiny. The Niners will play the Colts & Bears, not easy games. The Seahawks will go to Carolina to play a tough team with a well coached secondary. If they each lose 1 game, we are good to go.
I think McVay and Shula both think too much. They are TOO smart and overanalyze everything. In OT, after we scored the TD, that they went conservative as to not give up an easy TD and shot themselves in the foot. Same thing when they got up 30-22.I doubt that will happen. I think McVay did a great job this year. He and the staff really got the most from the talent. This roster is incredibly strong in many facets, it just has a serious weakness in coverage on defense, and pass pro up front on offense. Those weaknesses are going to end up being what cost them the top seed.
But that doesn't mean they can't make a run that masks their weaknesses in the playoffs. And Coach is truly at his best when his team is a dog, and everyone's busy crowning the other teams. So I'm fully over the loss of that seed and I'm ready to watch this team shit all over the hopes and dreams of opposing fans, on the road, in the playoffs. Fuckin bring it.
This may be true. But going into last week's game McVay's team was in the driver's seat for the top seed. And his record over his time as head coach speaks for itself. So while he's got some tendencies that drive me batshit, I think he gets way too much shit from a fan base that should have perspective given the 90s.I think McVay and Shula both think too much. Just stay the course and keep doing what works. It doesn't always have to be so complicated.
Agree 100%. I've never seen a coach consistently motivate players to play above their capability. I get frustrated with McVay, but understand there really is no alternative that can do what he does. This may be true. Also in those games where the momentum shifts late and you're holding on by your fingernails what you as a player are doing is hoping someone will make a play, while you focus in on your job. And sometimes nobody makes the play. In fact sometimes a string of your teammates make mistakes and fuck shit up instead and you lose.
It's the coaching sometimes. But I think fans tend to blame them a bit too much.
