Do you get the feeling that he could come off a bench and win a game?
Because I sure don't.
I would like to see Stafford starting obviously backed up by Garoppolo with Simpson learning from the sidelines
To win a single game?? Maybe 2? Absolutely I think he could. But if he had to play 4-5 games I think it would be difficult, unless the defense is holding teams to under 10 every game.

Jimmy G has seen pretty much everything a defense could throw at an NFL QB, he’s played in a Super Bowl, and I think the guys in the huddle would feel perfectly fine if he had to lead them. If this was a borderline wild card team, I’d say let Bennett or Simpson play if it came to it. But the stakes are just too high IMO.

Ty Simpson. 21/25 190 Yards. 2 TD. 0 INT

I'll take that

Right. So many forget how good Bennett was in preseason last year. Recency bias.
Yeah he was 28/40 325 3 TDs vs the Chargers. Thats why I was so confused with how they used him today. They treated him like it was his first preseason game. I’d have rather Simpson got the start if they weren’t going to let Bennett show what he could do.

Simpson did look pretty good today. Nice, crisp passes. Good decision making. But I know its preseason. He's playing with backups against backups. Its hard to know how much stock to put in this performance. Still, I kinda think I'd rather him as QB2. I'm just not sold on Bennett. And Simpson is our future. After taking a year off I question Bennett's love of the game.

Very brief takes..
Waters and Connors are more interesting than Rivers and Hunter. We’ll see if they can do enough on STs & things like pass pro to compete for spots.
The Rams don’t have a backup QB to carry the team if Stafford is out with injury,
Simpson has more talent than Bennett and got better as the game went along.
Klare gonna be just fine.

One thing about Ty - I know some we concerned he was too small. It didn't look that way today. Height wise, looks like an average NFL QB. But what I noticed was, he has some guns, and he's thick as hell in the lower body.

I'm more excited about this pick than ever. That TD pass to Connors was a thing of beauty - the old RB post that Gurley used to run so effectively.

Redman looks good at TE on the outside, while Klare was in line with nice hands. Simpson looked good as mentioned: accuracy, spin and a quick release. Connor is shifty with good hands.

Nothing to complain about. OL held up, Simpson appears to have the goods & Dean Connors is the 2nd coming of Ed Podolak.
No one wears a face-mask like that any more ...

Remember his performance in the Double-OT Game on Christmas Day?
85 yards rushing, 110 yards receiving and 155 yards on kick returns, with 2 TDs ... and 2 fumbles.

I came here to say exactly this. He looks the part at this level.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. We were at my grandparents house I was 5 and Miami won I flipped an ashtray off the coffee and it cascaded to the floor.

My father said to relax & my grandfather told me I needed to learn how to control that temper. I miss them both dearly, but.those pieces of advice fell on deaf ears.
