Everyone saying "we just should have ran the ball more" must not have noticed the lack of push all night from the line. Fact is our line got bitch slapped in the run and pass game tonight. I fear our o line cant handle real physical competition and thats a shame. Goff was horrible but the issues started up front.

The run game is the aspect of football that improves over the course of a game though .Defensive lines get tired and you tee off on them in the run game. Unless you aren't running, that is .

We barely tried the inside-zone game. There was a point in the second half where we rushed twice for 17 yards, and then McVay threw on like the next 5 or 6 plays. This was a game where it was clear that Goff didn't have it. This is a game where you need to tell your OL and Gurley, "This is big boy football time. We need you guys to carry this team." And once they start to wear down the Bears' front, you start hitting them with some PA and get Goff into a groove. Instead, McVay kept trying to put it on Goff to dig us out of the hole. The Bears weren't respecting the PA game and were daring us to run.

There isn't a spot in the standings for that though.

Martz used to say the same things.
I recognized very early on the McVay penchant for taking responsibility was way over the top. It usually starts with “ I need to put them in better position to succeed” yada yada yada...

Eagles defense is awful and hopefully we can rectify the offense next week however I will tell you not only are we playing a desperate eagles squad but Wentz will probably have his best game this year as he more than likely holds the Rams accountable for in essence taking his chance to play in a Super Bowl away. Wounded animals are dangerous I just hope we feel wounded as well.
Thing is, I'm tired of pasting crappy defenses .I wanna see the Rams smolder a top defense for once .

We've done that multiple times. We pasted the Eagles last year (and still lost). We pasted the Vikings and Chargers this year.

I think the weather made both D"s look better than they really are by neutralizing both QB's. What bothers me is how obvious it was that Goff was struggling to throw the ball accurately. Only person who seemed blind to it was the HC. It seems to be a bad tendency. Hope this isn't headed towards Martz 2.0.

Not going to be overly critical though. McVay has turned this franchise completely around after all.

Are you paying any attention?

Really?????

Yep. Unfortunately, I am. We lost a game, and the sky is falling. Our team is poorly coached. We're just winning because we have more talent. McVay taking responsibility is unacceptable because . . . hell, I don't know, something about Martz.

Yeah, I'm not overreacting to one game. Even great teams lose football games. We went on the road in poor conditions and faced the current #3 seed in our conference. They won. It happens.

McVay had an issue with ignoring the running game all the way back with the Redskins as a play-caller.

He's had that issue with us quite a bit. We've actually always found ways to overcome it or he's course corrected enough in the second half of games to get more of the running game going.

It - amongst other things - finally bit us in the ass this time.

If he's got a fatal flaw... this is it.

McVay is a really smart guy, so my guess is if he thought we could play that brand of football we would have. A few positive runs doesnt mean youre winning the LOS. The most physical teams the past two years have beat us: MIN, PHI, ATL, and now CHI. Our "power" running game is based around Todd Gurley and our scheme, not our line's physicality. On a night where Jared doesn't have it obviously, why wouldnt we run more? My guess is McVay doesnt think we can win like that consistently against dominant fronts.

Now we have to fret all week if the rest of the league has caught up to our Offense or are they just playing poorly. Doubtless though Coach Mac needs to make some adjustments. And job one is to try to figure out what is wrong with Mr. Goff.

Of course we still have faith in McVay... but no one is perfect and we have seen some troubling trends.

The timeouts and repeatedly getting your QB hit.
