So much BS spin there by the Rams. Goddamn they just shovel it on Jourdan at times.

Brown is a rotational option only. That much is clear by now. Also he is not a NT. They tried him there, he sucked ass. This isn't about him being Albert Einstein, "oh he's so intelligent" blah blah blah. It's about finding a place and usage where he sucks the least. His role will be rotational DL on the non-A gaps.

Turner is quality but he is wasted on the nose because we don't have anyone else who can 5T nearly as well as him. So they can move him around all they want but 5T and generally opposite Fiske is gonna be his spot.

Fiske is a rook and learning. He also is no NT. They won't put him there as he lacks the strength right now. His best spot is 3T or in the duo with Turner on pass downs when they go even front.

Gallimore will be relegated to rotation for now. There is a chance he can take on a more important role, which if it happens means he'll be ahead of Brown in the rotation for non-A gaps.

Davis is the only real option we have at the nose. But we don't have much option behind him. This DL is thin in that respect.

This is a rush DL at the top best served at getting after passers. They could badly use a NT if one were to be available in trade. If not then they need to hope Davis doesn't get hurt. And they shouldn't screw around and use him at other spots because he's the best answer over that center.
You actually make some good points, but your know it all thinking STINKS!! I’d say Jourdans article & the way she brought it about is Pretty Kool! However you look at it.

-There’s some good insight & I’ll look upfront & have a better idea after this BEARS game of where The Dine might be ?

You saying Shula is covering up town is WEAK in the sense of where players fit best.I say that because if you look at Kobie Turner there might lie part of the problem,or solution to it ?
He hasn’t played as well this season & he imo is a better fit at NT.
I don’t know what is going to happen during the season at LBer either ? The Rams have had trouble up The Gut!

I’ll keep an eye on #95 today & try to watch the rotation? There’s no reason to DOUBT Shula Today though.I’d say I ENJOY Jourdan like this as a Rams reporter.Hate when she Digs Dirt.If this is her Digging Dirt & you seeing it ? IMO -I see it more as Fact & Game Planning.

This DL is thin in that respect.
It’s also “thin” in that there aren’t enough fat guys clogging the running lanes.

Fortunately, there’s an easy solution to that particular problem:

I liked Shula & the way he stayed in the Moment against those (Lossers)8ers last week.

The Bears O’Line & Running Game has struggled. It should be interesting.Seeing the Game Plan really makes this game more Fun.

Merlin attacking Bobby Brown imo is WEAK!! If he can play to a strength & not be asked to do what he might not be as good at isn’t a BAD thing.
—Murch meant a lot to The Rams defense & a player who worked hard this offseason than any other from at least a Belly Stand Point.

He was put on RETURN LIST w/KT.I mean at the time it meant a lot.Now it shows that The Rams need to figure this IR RETURN LIST OUT as well ?

I’m RamBling!! Then again I’ll also get a view of the DB’s so that is something I’m looking forward to ?

Yeah - sure AD99 was PHAT ! It’s all how you look at it. Making adjustments it what Shula & Giff are doing.

If Turner was better at NT,then why not put him there ?? Question is What was he last season & was he The Best RDP ? Rookie defensive player?

AD99 or not,why create that hole? Bobby Brown might just be a rotational player.I’ve seen him many of time chase a QB out of bounds for a TFL. Brock Purdy might have had less time with BB95 chasing him ? - still needs to be proven on Sunday’s.

Davis might not be a NT,but does well upfront. He just doesn’t get to The QB! He can maintain Gap Concepts & rotation over if Kobie is running down a QB(9 sacks 2023).

There’s many ways you can fix a orange.

So the Bears had a team meeting to get everyone on board for this one. Also they're gonna use a bigger RB (Johnson), more on Sunday.
They want ball control to keep the Ram offense off the field. I think McVay wants to do much of the same except he wants the early lead in the game. Again I say McVay has to keep a balance AND NOT abandon the run game, unless by some chance, the Rams are down big early. TAKE WHAT POINTS YOU CAN GET EARLY!!! If a FG is there...take it because the Bear defense can be stubborn early.

Both teams at 1-2, want this game to stay in the mix. Some of the talk is the Rams are riding high after their big win over the 9ers last week and will be flat in this game.

The Bears bring back WR Allen on Sunday and I think they'll want to pick on Durant with him. OTOH McVay has said Witherspoon may be active on Sunday as they've been getting him in game shape for the most part. Will that happen?

Bears 9th in defense...Rams 31st. Rams 20th in offense...Bears 30th.

Anyone worried about Shula and the defense??? The win probability is with the Bears at home...and I think many disrespect the Rams D because of the "desert disaster at Arizona". We saw them do well against the 9ers

I feel weird about this one...but I also see a Rams win...whether by 3... or by 10. I'm feeling like 27-17 Rams, as they pull way late!!!

I don't disagree.

But that know it all business is an extension of seeing this coming (we discussed Brown in the offseason) mixed with the exhausting nature of the Rams' relentlessly positive spin and inability to answer questions at the podium without fluff and nonsense. If we can't be honest about that then what's the point of discussing this stuff.

Davis hopefully can save us at NT by growing into it and staying healthy. If either of those things don't happen though we will end up being eliminated in the playoffs the moment we hit a good defense. Believe me I'd love to see Brown turn it on but the truth here is he is being phased out week 4. So it is what it is.

All that aside I do love this DL. I think by midseason, barring injury, we might have the best 4 man front for pass downs in the league. It is an impressive development.

No. You can tell by listening to Shula speak he knows his shlt, understands and fits with McVay culture, and knows how to lead.

Having said that, we're still sorting through personnel and trying to navigate the post-AD world for sure, so that's the concern for me.

Witherspoon and Smith activated for the Bears game. They should make some plays. Smith is a weapon. Hope McVay uses him some on Offense.

I would agree. Listened to him in the pregame last night. I'm one who says "give it time". I see the fact that his defensive approach/concepts hasn't sunk in to the players to the point where they know it as well as can communictate it "in game".

I'm a patient guy...but at the same time that doesn't negate concerns when your defense is 31st.

This is an interesting matchup. As recently as a week ago, I had this marked as a sure W. Now, I am not sure.

That Bears roster has lots of talent, but I was convinced we were catching them at right time. Caleb Williams looks promising and flashes at times, but is clearly still green. We are not getting him at anything lose to polished form. Their o-line, on paper, is meh. But they are playing far worse than that. They have arguably been the worst unit in the NFL. Our young d-line is gets excellent pressure, things were looking good.

But Keenan Allen is slated to return. That worries me. He's exactly the type of savvy, veteran WR that could bring their under-achieving offense together and help out a young QB. Plus, he's another weapon. The Bears WR trio of Moore - Allen - Odunze is among the best in the NFL for my money. Does anyone think our secondary can compete with that? Especially with the injuries? The worst part of their offense has been a complete inability to run. Well, they might come out of that funk too - their staff has said they are going to commit to Herbert at RB. No idea why it took them so long, to pivot from the miscasting of Swift.

Chicago is a tough place to play too.

I still think we squeeze out a win. IMO: Eberflus is completely clueless and will negate much of the above on offense. Meanwhile, McVay is among the best in the business, and we have a very clear advantage at QB - at least until Caleb grows some more. But a game I previously had banked as a very likely W, through catching Chicago at the right time, is no longer so for me. If Allen does not play, that alone is big for me.

This is a really tough game to pick. The Rams showed they have grit last week and I'm not sold on Caleb Williams.

Man I hope the O Line goes out and pounds the bears d. I have a ton of faith in the current starters on O Line.

I saw that screenshot and thought it was Nicolas Cage in Con Air.
I'm thinking more the slimy bowler from The Big Lebowski....after a month-long meth binge.

I hope The Rams play it like The Whiner game. Run Kyren & counterpunch with Atwell, possibly X. Smith.

Defensively, activating Ahkello could be key; he has the size to match-up with either Odunze or Allen. Let White & Durant handle speedy DJ Moore . The Rams big safeties - who got matched up with 6'3" Jennings instead of 5'9" Tre White, got their candy stolen repeatedly by the Whiner WR last week; that could be a problem with Allen, especially. Kmet, too; I think he's under-rated. I don't think Caleb will find receivers under pressure like Purdy did, but this would be a splendid time for the DL to start finishing & the dual Kam defense showing they know how to win a jump ball when the pass rush doesn't get home.

No doubt this is the least formidable O-line LAR has faced, but I'm more worried about Swift breaking loose than Caleb. V8 & Co. cannot let that guy get outside. Of course, no tape on Roschon Johnson could be its own issue with the Ram ILBs reading plays at a third grade level.

Bottom line, I think this one is a tight match-up. Neither defense is ranked accurately because of the small sample size & extenuating circumstances; LAR couldn't have come back from those deficits if they played the second half vs good offensive teams in DET and SF at the level their overall numbers indicate. CHI has faced three talented but young QBs who are not leading very effective offenses, imo .
As long as this last minute knee thing with Alaric doesn't wreck things on the OL & McVay doesn't try to 11P swag his way through, the offense will be fine, I think.

Time to hunt some Yogi.....
