They really need one. Our lack of production in that facet of the game has a direct correlation for the problems in the secondary.

I wish we could trade for Janoris. I know we can't afford him, but I'd love to have him back on the Rams now that we are winning. I've always been a huge fan of his.

JJ doesn't fit the mold. He admitted to not concentrating. He looked great in his first year in N.Y. he has fallen back to a middling player again. He never seemed to be as committed to being a great player as guys like Gurley, and Donald, and several others on the team. I definitely don't think that he would be a good influence on Peters.

I hope we don't move Brown. He's a valuable backup to have.

Back up running backs grow on trees in the NFL. They don't have any trade value so I don't think that would be part of any trade.

I’m surprised to hear they have 4.2.
To further the discussion - if Rams would have to pay 1/2 of 2018 salary the following potentials could be fits:

D. Fowler - JAX $1.9m adjusted from $2.8m 2018 salary
S. Ray - DEN - $.85m adjusted from $1.7m
S Barrett - DEN - $1.45 adjusted from $2.9m
T. Davis - DEN - $1.5m adjusted from $3.0m
B. Marshall - DEN - $2.5m adjusted from $5.0m

The next question is what draft pick or player would they trade for any of these players.

Side note on McVays press conference today. When talking about Okoronkwo he actually sounded pretty excited about him. I'm not sure why the change in attitude in just one week. And not how it or any if this plays into a trade or not. I guess I found it weird.

The McVay presser is really worth the watch. Lots of good stuff in there. The Browns coaching vacancy and the possible candidates with Sean's take was really good

I'm pretty sure I can at least quadruple that cap with my banking account.
Funny. I was thinking if they're not gonna use it...I'll take it!

A guy like Irvin makes sense.
Much more comfortable giving up a later round pick.
Fielder doesn't make sense really. Jacksonville was playing to reach the Super Bowl and is a relatively young team. Trading Fowler would suggest rebuild mode, which they shouldn't be in.
Remember with Irvin the Rams don't need a guy who will collect a ton of sacks, although that would be nice. They need pressure from the outside. Getting the QB off his spot and or stepping up in the pocket will lead to sacks and incomplete passes.

Fowler is a backup and according to Jags fans not even a good one. He’s a free agent next year and very unlikely to get resigned. He also isn’t likely to get a big enough contract to warrant a comp pick. Trading him now makes sense.

I'm thinking Wade likes him....This is the deal and fits the profile.

Thanks for the education.
I thought he was a starter.
His stats are not impressive, makes sense if he isn't starting.
That would make me lean more toward Irvin.
Low round pick.
Don't know what the cap implications are in trading for him.
