Not really a backroom deal right out there in the open, 100 million for each team, a chance to move to LA for San Diego and if they don't take it Oakland has a chance to move.

Really the only loser here was the city of St. Louis.
they came up with 100 million for both those teams, yet they made an extra 100 million towards a St Louis stadium into a deal breaker, St Louis did more to keep their team than either Oakland or SD we were the only city with a real stadium proposal yet were the ones shut out? they dont come any shadier than the NFL, I wish congress see them for what they are and take away those exemptions, they need to be riened in, its out of control when a city does all St Lpuis has done to keep the Rams yet still get the finger from the owner and the NFL.

I'm not going anywhere, no matter how much you want me to!

Seriously, STL should be proud of how hard we tried. I'm not mad at the team or anyone outside of Kroenke and owners that screwed a good city because of greed.

If I let Kroenke get me to stop watching my team, the terrorists win.

I too made that same choice so long ago, it wasn't the popular reaction at the time

Bravo Sir!! Along with mad respect

I would be less pissed if Stan just simply came out and was honest. If he had just said, "You know, I love St. Louis and this city has supported the Rams as well as can be expected with the awful product we gave them. But I have to be honest, if I move the team to LA I gain a couple billion dollars and am able to put as much money into making this team a championship as I possibly can, I'm sorry St. Louis." But to put on the charade and have people like Grubman and Goodell have the audacity to lie to the world and then, above EVERYTHING else, Stan releases his relocation papers basically calling St. Louis the trash of America.... that was bullcrap.
The lack of integrity is troubling to me. It makes me feel like I shouldn't support a league like that. An owner like that. My heart screams to stay a Rams fan. My brain tells me to never watch another G.D. NFL game again.

Time heals all wounds. We'll see.

Exactly. Wish he could have done like Malcom Forbes once did, when asked to what did he attribute his success. His succinct reply: "My father died."

I have to say I truly feel for the fans who live in St.Louis. I can tell you first hand when they moved from LA (I lived there at the time) It really sucked. But to be honest the attendance was marginal so I was really excited for my team to go to a city that wanted and deserved them. There were good times and bad and I'll forever be grateful for 99'. I mean how awesome was a 300-1 underdog going into the season and winning the whole enchilada! I still kick myself for not placing a damn $100 bet while I was in Vegas. Yeah, do the math, cost myself some serious loot.

But I must also say I'm disappointed in some of my Rams brothers right now. Look, all of us that that went thru it in LA get how you feel. It sucks. Having a team in your backyard is awesome.
Having it taken away sucks. But to say you won't be a fan because of it seems pretty extreme. We are all brothers. Whether that was in St.Louis, LA or the moon for all I care. I will always follow them no matter where they play. And if you're upset at ownership stop and think about what this means to the franchise. Not you personally but the entire team. Think of the state of the art stadium they will have. Think about how attractive the LA market is to free agents. I mean the weather, Hollywood, etc. The team will be worth so much more and be able to generate a ton of revenue. The team has been in a rut for many years now. Sometimes, like it or not, a change of scenery can be the best thing.

I know it's not easy right now so do what you need to do. But personally I'm looking forward to another cool road trip with the likes of Selassie, RamzFanz, CGI, Ramfan503 and all my other die hard brothers who love this team and will go where they go. Many of whom had to travel thousands of miles to see them in St.Louis.
Again, I know it's disappointing but at least you don't live in North Dakota where they don't have anything.

The NFCW are all now on the West coast except the Cards, but they are still pretty West. It was actually weird that a team in the middle of the US was in the NFCW.
Better than the old days of Atlanta and New Orleans being in the NFC West.
Phoenix is actually a shorter drive from So Cal than San Francisco is.

It's a sad day for Rams fans we will lose a lot of great fans over this.As someone who was devastated when they moved in the 90's i can understand and sympathize with all of them.Hopefully when the initial anger goes down some of these fans will reconsider and continue to follow our Rams.Personally I didn't have a preference on where they call home so to our LA fans congratulations. And to our STL fans thank you for the awesome support and I hope that you stay Rams fans. RAMS 4EVER
I too experienced the move to Stl. Hurt for awhile but I had moved to Oregon so I wasn't in LA anymore anyhow.
I've been a Rams fan since about '65. It's in my blood. I have blue blood and gold blood. Used to be blue and white.
I didn't know for certain how I'd react the next season watching them play in a dome. Not a big dome guy. But when I saw the opening day kick off I knew all was good. Heart was going again just like every year before.
We need you Stl to step up and be who we all are ......Rams Fans. You'll get over it.
I did.

I'm not sure what to think. I may stick with the team. I may become a Chiefs fan. I'm just so unsure right now.

I feel so bad for those of you in St. Louis. Losing the Sonics back in the day was heartbreaking. I'm just happy I was able to make it to one game in your fine city. I'm always going to love the Rams.

Everything you're saying is understandardable, but the NFL butt fucked St. Louis so hard here its hard to look past it right now.

And shown the door by one of us... not sure who but they simply beat me to it.
Will probably have to deal with this for a bit.
When the team left LA there was that too, but, from SF fans in person....the worst kind of troll.
It is unfortunate.
Mods are going to be working OT for a while I am afraid.

Sorry bro. I'm not going to debate this now. I don't think it's the time. Emotions are feeling a bit high. I know mine are. Maybe in a month or so.

peace

It's not an emotional response and we never need to have that debate. To say that cities that have done nothing to keep their teams are getting $100M, a city that offers ZERO public dollars to attract a team gets a team, and the city that made one of the best financial offers for a new stadium ever offered a team, loses, that's not done well. Not for the fans. Not for the precedent. It can't be spun into a fair deal. It's a greed deal.

Peace to you. Rant over.

Kroenke didn't want public money. That was the issue. He wanted to own his stadium and have an opportunity to make a lot of money developing the land around it. LA presented better monetary options. It sucks but it was a business move. St. Louis couldn't have done anything to keep the team. It's a great sports city and hopefully, football will be back one day.

I won't argue with how people feel but I would bet many were fans when they were in LA previously and cheered them on. So why quit now. I mean I went through it in LA and I'm still a fan.
And I don't pretend to know every detail but it seems to me St.Louis had a ton of time to do something and they finally stepped up when it was basically too late.

I've been a Rams fan since the 60s. That been said, the way Kroenke has lined up and jobbed STL is horrible. Every move was/is about gaining a bigger fortune with no regard for the fan base. Promises of a better product was only an opportunity to line his pockets for an opportunity to run out west. You could call it a return, but I think once history looks upon things, Kroenke will look like the snake oil salesman he is. I will continue to be a Rams fan. But I am appalled at the treatment of the city that has celebrated the only Super Bowl win in th franchise's history.

If any of y'all STL'ers are still Ram fans, I'll be more than happy to buy beer for you if ever you visit LA. It's unfortunate you lost your city and even though I live in Cali, I grew up as a fan when they were in St. Louis.

Well said. Well, mostly. I don't mean to quibble on such a trying day, but I do have to correct one thing.

North Dakota has things. It has things! I mean, if you're in Fargo, you can visit the Visitor's Bureau there and see the actual Woodchipper from the movie, "Fargo". I mean, c'mon, that's got to be worth the price of a plane ticket, rental car and motel room.

On a serious note, I will actually be in SoCal around the beginning of October for my 30th HS reunion which is October 1st. I think scoring a ticket for any of the first year games will be awfully tough (and expensive) and that presumes they are even playing at home that weekend, but if they are, you know I'll be there to tailgate! A ROD tailgate is good times!

What he's saying isn't about Kroenke. It's about the league office belitting the STL deal because of the extra 100million and then turning around and giving 200 million to 2 teams.

I won't say much, except that my heart goes out to the St Lou faithful today, and I hope some of you will still root for the Rams again someday. I'm also excited for the LA fans.
Most of all I'm so glad it's over.

37 year Rams fan.
