Seemed like Mcvay was a bit off body language angry face no smile just like going through the motions seemed uneasy. Maybe cutdown day or something else he is only human but seemed like a hollowed out Mcvay
Must have been hanging around AD too much.

I really hope Keim Thomas makes the cut. He looked better than Garrett in the preseason game. He's looks stronger. Von Miller not only brought pressure. He helped clean up the leaky run defense opposite Floyd. Thomas looks better suited to that role than Garrett.

I would agree that Keir Thomas also plays the run game well, which gives him the edge over Benton Whitley although I would keep Chris Garrett too. They will have a decision to make when Hardy comes off the PUP list, but Thomas was a nice signing because of his collegiate background and did showcase ability during preseason.

Thomas set the edge well.
I think he has jumped Garrett.

Not sure if he jumped Garrett as I like Garrett too, but what Thomas has done is given the Rams another viable option. He's bigger at 275lbs so he should be able to hold the edge and be more stout against the run.

Still no update on Quentin Lake's knee: 'It was a unique situation and circumstance'

Quentin Lake was a rookie a lot of Rams fans were excited about this year, but he’s been sidelined since the start of training camp with a knee injury. He remains on the PUP list and has yet to practice or play a preseason game, and it seems unlikely he’ll get on the field before the season begins.

When asked for an update on Lake’s status Sunday, Sean McVay didn’t have anything new to share on the rookie. He said it was a “unique situation and circumstance” and the team is taking it day by day with Lake.

“Not really an update. We’re just kind of taking it a day at a time with him. It was a unique situation and circumstance, so right now, no updates on him,” McVay said.

While Lake has been sidelined, fellow rookie Russ Yeast has stepped up and played well in the preseason. He hasn’t yet locked up a spot on the 53-man roster, but one would have to figure he’s close to doing so.

McVay sees both Yeast and Lake as being contributors for the Rams and he’s pleased with the way Lake has attacked his rehab. He doesn’t believe it’ll come down to keeping one or the other, either.

“I don’t think it’ll have to get down to that,” McVay said. “Russ has done a good job. He’s really played really well. Played every play in the first half and played all of (special) teams yesterday and he’s only getting better. He’s got great range, really coachable, high-football character guy, so I really like him. And I feel very similar, if you see the demeanor and the way Quentin Lake has handled himself in the meetings and just the way he’s attacking getting himself ready to go with Reggie (Scott) and his group both these guys are people we anticipate being very helpful contributors for the Rams.”

Given the circumstances, one would figure Lake might start the season on the PUP list or IR. If the Rams want him to return this season, he’ll have to make the 53-man roster first before going on IR. Or they can place him on the reserve/PUP list now, which would cause him to miss the first four games.

ER Keir Thomas has the same body build that DL Morgan Fox had when he was here but is more of an edge skilled defender than Fox was. Rams did move Fox in an attempt to play the edge one season but moved him back inside after the knee injury.

I see a playmaker in ER Keir Thomas much more than in ER Chris Garrett. ER Benton Whitley has more twitch & quicker but his tacking is pathetically poor.

I wouldn’t mind at all if we could IR Lake all season and give him a redshirt year. Saves a roster spot and potentially losing him if in PS. Baring injuries, he won’t be needed this year. Then again, we’ve seen our fair share of safety injuries the past couple years.

I'll be bewildered if Perkins survives the 53 man roster. I'm just not sure what McVay sees in the kid...

There’s always a surprise or two at cutdown time with the Rams, no?

If Rams are keeping 4 RB I hope they keep Ragas instead of Funk

I think the 4th RB will be dependent on who is better at special teams.

I am not sure how good Ragas is at special teams.

But I agree, he is a better running back than Funk
