Man our ILBs worry me. Still not really sure why we didn't draft one higher. I like the jefferson pick and all and I'm sure he's gonna be a stud but WR was not a need per say

Wonder if Josh Rosen could be a candidate for the 53rd roster spot.

Has only played under head coaches with defensive backgrounds. Wouldn't a year near home in CA, under an offensive minded HC be tempting for him to consider? NFL Network mentioned Buffalo as a possible landing spot but that is under another defensive-minded HC.

Not sure playing-time should be the top consideration for him. Also do not know if it is realistic. A good spot where he could be one snap from playing, with good offensive talent, makes sense.

Got to admit that John Wolford as the back-up does not inspire confidence with me.

Does Rosen have to clear waivers first? Not sure for a guy with only 2 years service accrued tbh. If so he can't be signed right now.

I would assume he has to clear waivers, otherwise the team that claims him has to take on the remainder of his rookie contract.

Think it is tough for a young QB, with little quality experience, to find an opportunity where he could immediately compete for playing-time.

Do not think Rosen has been in a good situation yet; and if he becomes a free agent and is free to choose a landing-spot, think he should try to identify a team with good offensive talent and an offensive-mind at HC. Then ideally, compete for the back-up role and be one-snap-away from playing.

That's the Rams.

Have no idea what they think of him; or how he was rated by the Rams in the 2018 Draft. Maybe they really do like Wolford.

ILB isn't a huge problem simply from the fact that it's not a fulltime position. It's OLB that is the problem. I know people didn't like my insinuation about strings being pulled for Sloman. But if you think it doesn't happen on the Rams, there is the case of Eric Banks DE who is painfully slow to be playing DE at the NFL level. How slow? How about 4.9+ slow. He's also perhaps the rawest of all the UDFA DL in camp. But his ace card was a personal connection to Eric Henderson....hmmmm. Normally I wouldn't really care because he's at the bottom of the roster, but with Lewis probably going to end up on IR, OLB has depth issues.

It looks like Staley is going to trot out swinging door SJD at NT again. So Dallas and the Niners will be able to run wild up the middle. Think I'm overstating the issue? Why do you think they signed Robinson? Because teams were blowing right through SJD using only a center or OG to blow him off the LOS, not even a double team. This allows them to double AD and run right by him. The D-line is going to be soft in the middle against the run again just like last year. Kiser will be the only player who will be able to stop the run close to the LOS.

So they have a LB who can't run so probably won't play and be inactive all year and a 53% PK.

I'd rather have Wolford over a stiff and awkward Josh Rosen

The back-up QB is often popular among the fans, especially if he has not played. Has never thrown a bad interception.

Austin Davis and Sean Mannion had their supporters too.

In Wolford's first three college seasons, he had more picks than TDs each year; and a completion percentage under 60%. Had an excellent senior season.

I am not a Rosen supporter. Do not watch college football; and what little I saw of him with the Cardinals and Dolphins was not good. However, those were bad teams, with little offensive talent and Head Coaches who were first-year guys with defensive coordinator experience.

There have been first round QBs that looked bad early in their careers, on bad teams, that later played at a high-level.
