It's a simple question man.
Since all of your OPINIONS are stated as a FACT I just wanted to know as a FACT who we should have picked.

I mean you're really impressing everybody with your amazing football knowledge of what I'm thinking and what's average and such, I thought you might want to dazzle us with who we should have taken.
Whoa, let's not go nuts and say I've got amazing football knowledge.

Again, here's where statistics come in handy.

I simply have an above-average football knowledge - where average represents a central knowledge of football fans and anything involving understanding what a QB platform is (feet, balance, base and posture) and how it can lead to certain throws that surpass a QB's arm strength is considered above-average.

Again, stop equating me saying he has an average arm with the idea that I think we should have taken someone else.

It cheapens the argument you tried to make earlier.

That's below-average.

View attachment 75505 ... Seriously, I don't have an opinion but it's never a bad-time to post a Jeff Lebowski ... The Dude, not the Big Lebowski ... quote. Read a bunch of evaluations; and pretty much split between average-to-above average, with a few good arm-strength comments.

By-the-way ...
View attachment 75506 ... and, on a final noted, Walter Sobchak may be the best film character in the history of ridiculous, absurd film characters.
Average arm strength isn't bad. It would be great if it's a bit stronger than I thought. He can also work on his platform and having more consistency there which I think will go along way in increasing his accuracy on deep balls (but likely not truly allowing him to throw THAT much farther if at all).

Could be wrong, pretty nice if I was.

I believe part of the accuracy breakdown on deep throws is the fact that he doesn't have the arm strength, everything has to be right from the feet to the torso, to the follow through.
Not necessarily. A YouTube video was posted on here yesterday breaking down some mechanical flaws that he needs to correct. The accuracy issues were attributed to that, not a lack of arm strength.

Given the amount of rest Stafford has gotten in the past during camp (not withstanding his injury last year) there should be at least 1-3 days where Simpson is running with the 1s.

Reps during joint practices for him which we're not totally privy to will be the most important as he'll be seeing a real defense and not the vanilla stuff from preseason.
Absolutely! McVay has continually talked about how QB2 is vitally important in saving Stafford during training camp. If Simpson is QB2, it sounds like he's going to be running with the 1s much of the time. Of course, he has to win that job first.

Of course there is some opportunity cost… but.. maybe..? Just maybe.. they’re not done yet?
I mean he isn't lying and there's definitely moves thar can be made, but those moves also require loss of draft capital for a more expensive option. As much as I'd love if they added AJ Brown, I'm not sure how long he'd be on the Rams since we have a lot of players coming up that need to ne paid. On that note, it's there's also a possibility (no idea how likely) that the Rams may part with Stafford much earlier than any of us anticipate to keep a lot of that talent together if Stafford becomes too expensive. I would not be a fan of that if Stafford os still balling out but that's obviously just spit balling one of many scenarios.

Yeah, has to do with his platform, right? Torso, hip, shoulders?

See I screwed up here and conflated arm strength with his platform. EASY TO DO! Maybe I should be less a nudge about arguing about it.

But yeah, he needs to clean up mechanics, maybe I'm even wrong on which ones. That'll help with deep ball accuracy. It may even give him a bit more juice on the deep ball, it did Brady.

Draft capital? Maybe? But there are still unsigned players out there that could help.

And.. yeah.. the cap benefit is one of the reasons you go with a rookie.

We’ll see!

Yeah, something about his hips being out in front of his arm. I'm not super knowledgeable about the technical aspects of throwing, but whatever he was doing was causing the ball to sail sometimes.

It's impressive

and that's an average NFL arm
I was not a big Simpson guy. Was worried about arm strength. Lots a Super Bowl winning QBs don't have this kids arm. IMO, its just a little bit better than a average NFL arm.
The tape is impressive.
Bet his arm get a bit stronger sitting behind Stafford for a few years too. Still a kid, not in his man body yeat.
