I have heard a Drew Brees comparison, however, the key is to get Simpson as many reps during training camp and preseason IMO, while also, calculating what they are going to do with Bennett.
And I do wonder how much, if any, that changes Rams overall approach in preseason. I don’t think it’ll mean starters play.. but I think we could see more action for the primary backups.

Les says Drafting Simpson allows them to be aggressive trading future 1sts.

F them picks re-dux, coming...???

I sure hope Simpson get ALL of the pre season game reps. If Bennett plays, make it the 4th quarter. Bennett is the 3rd string emergency QB, Simpson is being molded as the franchise guy. Simpson needs reps.

Given the amount of rest Stafford has gotten in the past during camp (not withstanding his injury last year) there should be at least 1-3 days where Simpson is running with the 1s.

Reps during joint practices for him which we're not totally privy to will be the most important as he'll be seeing a real defense and not the vanilla stuff from preseason.

Without seeing the throw I can't really comment but his torso mechanics and feet were probably right for that throw and he'll need to have that consistently to hit something like that whereas guys with great arm strength may not even have to have the torque in the lower body to do it (see flick of the wrist throws by Allen, Stafford, etc...)
Check out the video bro.
He makes every throw you could ask of somebody.
Scrambling.
Standing with his feet together.
Running around awkwardly.
Under pressure.
Until I saw that video above I'd never really seen much of him playing.
Only what I'd read.
It's a pretty impressive video.
