Regarding the Derek Carr's extension:
"What a waste of $!!!

Thirty-plus year-old-QB who has only gotten his team into the post-season a couple of times, and has yet to win a single playoff-game."

I am of course paraphrasing what just about EVERY "Expert commentator" would have said had the Rams and Stafford NOT been successful and gone-on to win the Super Bowl.

In today's NFL economy that's not a bad deal. He's a Tier 2 QB in a league where most teams are rolling out Tier 3/4 guys.

Not quite on par with but reminds me of the Tannehill extension in Miami. You paid him because you knew the alternative was pure and total shit.

I think Carr is gonna look a LOT better with Davante Adams in their WR corps... a lot. Carr hasn't always had the best weapons and sometimes that OL has been... well... iffy isn't a bad word to describe them.

IDK, I'm Luke Warm on Carr, he reminds me of the attractive girl that's always single.

Carr should be entering a nice window with the Raiders. He played really well last year for Vegas to include a good playoff game and has a HC who should be one of the better gameplanning team leads in McDaniels. And he's got some weapons now with Adams added to the rest including guys like Renfrow and Waller, not to mention an excellent backfield with Jacobs.

I don't think the Raiders are up to KC level just yet but they're gonna flex this year and try to win that division IMO. Talent is there question is whether McDaniels is ready. And I assume he is, the guy is way more experienced this time around.

Carr is a solid QB and played great in a bad situation last year, lost coach stupid young players do in g stupid things and still made a playoff run.

Good kid, good family, glad he’s going to get a chance with them moving forward.

I do too. Sometimes I feel that too many people look at NFL QBs and believe that if you aren’t a top 5 QB then you are trash. I think there are many good QBs outside the top 5. Some of those QBs are just trashed by the media and fans when they actually put up good numbers and play the position pretty well. Carr is a good QB. He isn’t top 5 but you can win with him if you put the right pieces around him.
