It would be interesting to see how that would be interpreted. My understanding is that conduct detrimental to the league is more aimed at illegal activity, not speaking your mind on your personal time. The only time I've seen the league fine coaches or players is when they said something in the post game pressers when they are still on mandatory NFL time.

I think more - this is just something you don't say out loud. It may amount to nothing. The zebras should just let it slide. Then again, if some young player said it, the refs have to know that it goes a lot deeper than one player. Maybe they need something like this to realize the perception that is pretty prevalent inside (I assume) and outside of locker rooms.

“Criticism of officiating has always been considered conduct detrimental to the League”

This is just an excerpt from the Competition Committee’s page. But I am not sure what, if anything, the Comp Committee has to do with rule enforcement.

Ultimately, this new behavior from Puka. Til this point he has been viewed as a overall good guy. Therefore i wouldn’t expect him to get suspended.

If this were a pattern of behaviors I could see a possible big fine or MAYBE a one game suspension.

Players can be fined and or suspended for publicly criticizing referees. I’m not saying he should be, I’m just saying that’s the rules.

It falls under “Conduct Detrimental to the League”.
It's waaaay too late to suspend someone I'd imagine for a Thursday game.

He will get a fine at worst, most likely a talking to.

Also, as embarrassing as I find streaming in general, he was right about refs he just shouldn't have said it lol

And I would not have posted something that one person took exception to.

This is growing rapidly and becoming a thing.
I’m not going to post links because I don’t want to have this post deleted too.

Like it or not, it seems Puka really stepped into a mess.
Yeah. I'm not even defending Puka. I agree with you more than not. I just hope McVay sits him down and puts an end to this nonsense. I actually hope he tells him he needs to do a mia culpa.

Yea a suspension this late would be surprising. I was mainly speaking in generalities.

Agree with all of this. I just don't recall a player being fined for something he said on his own time. Doesn't mean it won't happen in this case or even that it actually hasn't happened in the past. I just think the NFL would be on shaky ground if challenged. And if it is a substantial fine or suspension, I almost guarantee you it will be challenged unless it's for say... the AZ game

.

Ahhh Puka.

The world is a small place now. Just because you were speaking to idiots you didn't have to play along and fall to their level.

The Rams are getting hosed on TNF.

.

I'm more disappointed in how this board is responding to the biggest non-issue.

If the refs can't take this kind of obvious joking in the farthest, most irrelevant corners of the internet, and they use it as fuel to make bad calls against us?
Really? That makes sense to you? Bad calls because of what Puka said? Because that's going to help their case and sticking it to Nacua is worth hurting their careers? That's what we're worried about?

He'll get fined or there won't be any repercussions.
Also, it's not like we won't believe we got bad calls anyway if we don't win. Every other game this forum is blaming the refs. How would we ever know....

i got an idea.

Deleted by moderator - let's not do this - eh?

I am a bit disgusted and embarrassed to be associated with supposedly intelligent fellow Rams fans posting the drivel I’ve seen in this thread.

Hmmmm…

Deleted by moderator - Let's not go down this road

It’s a conversation about an issue that could or could not have an impact or be a distraction on the biggest game week of a season.

Don’t like it? Fine!

Seems some of you have nothing better to do than dream up drama and create imaginary punishments for the drama. No player has ever been suspended or kicked from the league for criticizing officials. Yes it's happened before yes it will happen again.

The irony in all of this is the Rams are the least penalized team in the league, maybe he's sticking up for other teams I don't know. He's not wrong but should he have said it? No need to say it and he'll learn that as he's in the league longer and the Rams talk to him about this.

But suspended? Yeah even if it somehow happens when there's absolutely no precedent for it the Rams and the Union will fight it and he'll end up with a fine and a warning, which you get with every fine.

Well said, but not sure it’s not a reasonable topic on the out come.

He’s sticking up for teammates & himself. Sure he’s heard around the league as well.He has brothers that were ballers as well from a Fans standpoint.
The interesting thing from just listening to posters here is Sean Mcvay kept it out of The Rams facility.
-It’s funny Sean Mcvay just had his 2nd Son & Puka just had his own not to long ago. A reporter asked about Stafford(thought it was Mcvay) for advice about even getting a kid to stop crying into the night. The Rams have a solid team & relationships. They’ll get through it as a team & everyone learning from it.
At least that’s imo how that pyramid thing sort of works ?

I don't like it going until the biggest game of the year. However, because he said it, all eyes will really be on the refs so it's doubtful any ref would try to do do anything stupid on national TV

Looks like McVay was not too happy with Puka as he should be. Its not about yourself in the ultimate team game.
And while testosterone and youth might be the best drug ever, I do not want Puka to find out the hard way how it goes for people criticizing the group of people you for whatever reason, can't criticize.
Every group of people does something bad but when you criticize that group you get called a anti you know what. Even if they deserved it.

Puka has had some of the most amazing games EVER the last couple of weeks...

But man oh man oh man is he showing some horrible judgment.

McVay has his work cut out for him trying to rein him in.

I don't want to squash his fire but IMO some vets need to take Puka aside and talk some sense into him.

I think those guys on Locked on Rams said he actually bought some 10 MILLION $ case to carry his Air Jordans around. And he has only made 3 million his entire career.
Sounds very diva like if that is true.
