My selfie analysis:
I felt that drafting for a playoff team i had to nail the first couple picks which would allow me to reach a little later on(Jessie James, who is raw as Hell but has a ton of potential IMO). Bengals needed pass rush(who doesn't?) and i wasn't able to address that like i wanted, but having D.Shelton slip to me in R1 was a victory. He'll impact the entire DLine in a division where stopping the run is imperative.
I love Shaq Thompson for this Bengals team and wasn't able to get him this time, but P.Dawson was a very nice consolation and could flourish in a defense that wants to play aggressively but is lacking speed at LB.
WR Rashad Greene doesn't have to come in and be all world right away with AJ Green and M.Sanu entrenched. I felt he was the best WR available late in the 3rd rd and he's fairly NFL ready. He's also an experienced punt returner. Pacman Jones had a nice year as a returner, but he's 31 yrs old and is still an idiot who could wind up on the blotter sheet again at any time.
Bengals desperately need a TE to step up and help Dalton in the passing game. J.Gresham remains unsigned and has been a disappointment. Tyler Eifert will get the starting nod in 2015, but injuries are a concern and he hasn't established anything yet. I actually think a rookie like Jeff Heuerman could challenge Eifert while J.James is developed. I'm not a fan of double dipping TE's(ahem...Linehan) but again, i felt that i had the flexibility to do so having nailed the first few picks and being awarded comp picks.
Got great value and good talent at positions of need without making trades. Upgraded the defense and special teams. Failed to land a top flight pass rusher or OLine depth.
