So the comp picks are for 2025, right?
Nope... one comp 3rd in 2024, another comp 3rd in 2025.

When Brad Holmes got hired away to be GM of Lions, Rams got a comp 3rd in 2021 and then another one in 2022.

Believe it's two #3s ... one in 2024 and the other in 2025
Something like this

2024
1 (19)_____________________________________
2 (53)_____________________________________
3 (87)_____________________________________
3 (100/101)_______________________________(Choice for Raheem Morris)
4 (123) (Choice to Steelers for Kevin Dotson)
5 (155)_____________________________________
5 (156) ____________________________________(Choice from Steelers for Kevin Dotson)
6 (191) ___________________________________(Choice from Broncos for Kenny Young)
6 (201) (Choice to Buffalo for #215 in 2023)
7 (240) (Choice to Denver for Kenny Young)

all past 100 got bumped one

They will fill that gap between 100 and the 150's. Trade downs or trade ups. I would prefer more trade ups this yr to go with quality over quantity.

They got a lot of quantity last yr, so would prefer this yr as many picks as possible in the top 125 or so.

Next yrs extra pick can provide firepower for trade up for a QB if they need to go that route next yr.

And, if the Rams get four comp picks for free agents lost, that could bring their pre-draft total to eleven.

Now, four comp picks is the max number.
Do you know if a 3rd round comp pick for a minority hire is excluded from that max of four comp picks?

I don't know anything about that. But good to know.

yes, I should put in the other comps, a 5th for Mayfield and 3 others 6s ... but no idea if rams lose one because of Morris

With projected comps and one correction ... the actual selection numbers may not be up to date
because of comps

Also -- edit: Seems the hiring of Morris does not stop Rams from having 4 comps. His will make a 5th. Didn't know that at the time.

On the ring, we agree - I think his best coaching was in the playoffs that year
Nothing different except better execution and the addition of a savvy safety, Waddle ... but coverages were the same, fronts, the same off coverage ... not more blitzing ... I think he was good but there was nothing that was so different as to say he did better then than in regular season or since.

Coaches don't change that much. They cannot be sketchy for 17 games, then good for 4 then sketchy for 17 then good for 18.

I appreciate your perspective but if I am reading you right you may be giving him too much credit for 2021 playoffs and 2023 but too little for 2021 and 22 regular season.

Just a disagreement, that's all.

You know what you can do with it buddy.
Take the picks I say and you have no place talking to people like that around here.
You have a right to your opinion on Morris. That’s what this forum is all about. But to say Morris is not a real NFL DC is exposing yourself to backlash. He’s a real NFL DC. He’s going to be a real NFL HC. Those are facts you may not like but thats a fact Jack. Personally I thank Morris for everything he did for the Rams. He is a big part of why they are now a relevant NFL team again.

The pick for Morris will be after player comp picks for the 3rd round and after the same type of picks awarded to other teams before the Morris hire. I believe the only one so far will be the 2nd pick the Niners get for Carthon

I’d love to see Rams trade back a little and end up with picks in 1st & 2nd… 2 in 3rd.. and 2 4ths.

Combination trading back & trading up should make it easy.

Always do that unless there is a guy you love and will lose him. Rams have been on both sides of that. But would love a extra premium pick or two as land as the talent is similar

I’m of the school that trading back to get more picks in first 100 is the way to go. But that’s me.

The 4 player comp picks do not change. So we now get the extra 5th comp pick in rd 3 for Morris.

Yeah, seems not a big drop off from say 19 to 30. Of course we have no idea of the personalities and make up of these guys and if that makes a few guys stand out to them that they might not want to miss out on.

Me, too as long as the talent curve is pretty flat. There are times when it seems the late first is really a bunch of 2nd rounders but usually the early second round has several 1st round guys who fell.

But I al so agree on who Rams should target, all things being equal, the edge (as long as it is not a reach) and a CB
